I have been a long time fan of Le Royal Meridien Dubai, and hence booked again for a short break to get some much needed sunshine following a chilly end to the Northern European winter. Before I post this re review I still really like the place. Staff, layout, restaurant choice, location etc. BUT something has changed. The overriding issue, at the moment here, is the NOISE. We all know that there is a new Hotel going up next to the Tower, and they let you know beforehand (even soften the blow by offering Half Board for nothing) but it is now currently 24hrs and during the day virtually intolerable. No let up, clanging, banging, drilling. You name it. And there is little escape. To top this off, the opposite side (Habtoor side) there is work there too. At one point by the small pool we were surrounded. So, if you think its any quieter on the beach, the more worrying situation is that there is a Skydive centre very close by. At around 10.30 am the planes (yes there are 2 of them) start a cycle of taking holiday makers up for their skydive. Basically you are on an airport runway. This however is unlikely to be removed and will be a fixture for the unforeseeable future I guess. I might be wrong, and very happy to be wrong on the next point, but I think there has been a policy to ramp up the music in the outdoor bar areas too. No chance of a peaceful lunch, particularly at the Beach bar and Le Deck bar. This resort is great for young children, we know that, and it feels like it has become more family orientate. Not a problem, great in fact. But not if you are just a couple. The mixture of the youngsters, building work, planes and loud muzac perhaps might steer the decision elsewhere. I also noticed a strong change in clientele.I have absolutely no issue here, but, there were occasions on the beach, in particular at the bar, where large groups of Russian guys seem to have no regard for others. This is more commonly occurring, and at times sadly not too pleasant. I understand that some of these comments maybe at odds with the general opinion, but perhaps I am saying what needs to be said. The great service and beautiful gardens with top restaurants can sometimes hide the downsides. Dubai after all is a competitive environment when it comes to service and tourism. Some good news. Maya is better than ever, Indego at the GH is still world class, Geales always good. The Club Lounge still provides a great bolthole and the front of house is second to none. I will, however, give it a break for now until the noise has abated, and until I bring some young family maybe. Still, thanks for a nice stay, the weather was great! Collapse

A beautiful hotel, set in spacious grounds. Excellent service from all of the staff, a special mention to the manager at breakfast plus the staff in the club tower. First trip to this hotel, won't be the last!

Arrived back on Sunday evening from a wonderful stay at Le Royal Meridien. This is our third time at this hotel and the staff here are amazing! Everyone from the Cleaners, Waiters, Chefs, Pool workers, to the Management team is fab and made our stay excpetional. Our son suffers with allergies. The Head Chef and Management team went out of their way to ensure he had suitable food for the entire stay. Nothing was too much trouble. He didn not suffer with a single reaction during our stay which of course put us as ease. Our son had a fall in our room and the staff were fantastic at getting us in touch with the Doctor and even sent up some juice for our son and a Get Well soon card. We also had a slight problem with the telephone line which was repaired immedietaly followed by a phone call ensuring everything was ok. As the Brits are notoriously bad at tipping please make sure you tip. The staff work so hard and deserve to be rewarded for their efforts. The hotel was fantastic and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Cannot wait to return! Collapse

Every year we go on vacation to Dubai. I already have stayed at the hotel for eight times now and every stay was just perfect. The rooms, the food, the pools, the private beach, the spa and the staff: everything is amazing. There are working so many kind people in the hotel, they enable the high service standard of the hotel. If you want your stay and excursions to be well arranged, you have to ask for Eddie. He is very friendly and always willing to help. Also we laughed a lot with Nicolas who works at the entree of the hotel. Nicolas is a very happy guy and really shows intrest in the guest. At the same time he will gets you the kind of transport you asked for in just a minute. Aijth works in the hotel for many years and is the best house keeper. One day we had problems with our toilet and he already fixed it before we told him to. These people have made our stay even more pleasant. I would recommend Le Royal Meridien to everyone who is looking for a hotel where you can hand over everything. You just have to relax and enjoy everything. Hopefully I will be back at the hotel next year!! Collapse
