We booked a one week stay early June. Our superior room had a big terrace and a wonderful view overlooking the marina. All top-drawer apart from the wardrobe space which was minuscule. This hotel had everything to be honest; long private serviced beach, shaded area beneath the pines, lovely pool area with good poolside cafe, great spa, quality food and great service whichever hotel restaurant we picked. The hot and cold breakfast buffet was good - everything fresh. Group excursions to the islands were available from the hotel, but not cheap. Although we had a hire car we decided to use the hotel shuttle bus to visit Split. A good move because the traffic was chaotic near the centre. Split is definitely worth the visit - beautiful city. Podstrana itself seems soulless - just a long stretch of unattractive road with no centre that we could see. However, Omis (further South) is an attractive old town well worth a visit. We also visited Krka national park - easy 50 minute drive from the hotel. It is an amazing place and not to be missed. Downside? Well, everything in the hotel restaurants is very expensive. We loved our stay; definitely an indulgence. The hotel really looks after it's guests while gently relieving them of their savings. Collapse
Very good hotel, restaurants expensive. Remote location.

First the good points. The Pool area was lovely plenty of sunbeds, plenty of choice for shade or sun. Pool staff very attentive, getting umbrellas, moving beds etc. We chose a Marina view room. The room was large and very clean. The Housekeeping attendant was excellent. Breakfast was very good, but we have visited other 4 star hotels in Croatia which offered the same or more. The Hotel has five restaurants on site. We found the menus overpriced and the food too rich for our tastes. We ate twice at the 7 Palms restaurant it was ok but expensive. There are not many other restaurants in the area, however we found two good ones. Turn left out of the hotel in front of the Marina and walk along the beach for about 15-20 minutes. You will first come to Panula and Kuzeen we ate twice at Panula, about 10 minutes further on is Amigos. Both of these are good and the food reasonably priced. There is very little to do around the hotel. There are very few shops in the area. You would need to get the local bus. There are also taxis on site. We used the hotel shuttle bus to go to Split 3 times. The shuttle bus was good and easy to use. Split is beautiful especially in the evenings. There is live music all over the city. It is lovely to sit in the cathedral square at the end of the night and listen to the live music. Collapse

We built up our expectations being a 5 star hotel and were bitterly disappointed. Our room was not ready for an hour on arrival. The carpet in the room was stained as were the curtains with holes in them. The balcony area was not cleaned at all during our 2 week stay. The cooked breakfast and coffee was cold every day. We tried to eat at the 7 Palms restaurant 3 times and was turned away due to private functions. We couldn't eat on the terraces of the main restaurant due to a private function on our 1st day either. We gave up eating at the hotel and nick named it 'the squat'. We got stuck in the hotel lift with no emergency lighting, when we got out after 1 minute or so I reported it, only to be told 'yes we know, it was only for a minute or so though'. We saw a water taxi and enquired about it!! The hotel reception didn't know anything about it and pushed us over to concierge, only to be told 'we have our own power boats and would be very expensive!!! How bloody embarrassing!!! Ok the marina view room on vision 'perfect'....but we were the 1st floor up...be prepared to close your balcony doors due to exhaust fumes in the morning. Would we go back there again HELL NO. For b & b this cost us over £2500. Collapse
Amazing room and view!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location and property is gorgeous. Our room overlooked the marina. Beautiful sunsets on the balcony. We rented a car so the proximity to Old Town was not a problem for us.

We stayed at this hotel on a road trip through Croatia. This was the least of the hotels we visited. It is quite large, has a bit of an old and tired look and feel to it and feels to me very "old Eastern European". Definitely not a 5 star hotel, I would rate it 3.5 to 4 stars. Having said that, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. It really looks like a business hotel, there were quite a few business groups for meetings and training activities. Collapse
