Short version- service is not up to par. Stay at the hilton which is in the same location and about the same price. The good: location, rooms are decent. The bad: they don't seem to value their clientele, the gusto restaurant service is terrible. The ugly: When it comes to this level of hotel, the service should be top notch. This venue however, fails big time. While my issue may be small, the implications show a deeper issue. My host in this amazing city decided to pick me up from the hotel. To get to the main gate here you have to drive through the parking deck. Upon leaving, we were told to pay a parking fee since he had to wait for me/valet service. I asked them to bill it to my room (33MYR- 8usd), and then we left. Upon coming back to the hotel a few hours later, the parking attendant guy immediately rushes to my host and demand he pay cash. Treating us as if we were trying to cheat him. I told my host to leave and I'd handle it. Surely there was a misunderstanding. Upon getting to the reception the lady stated that since it's a third party, I'd have to pay cash directly. I mentioned that in a hotel (as I'm aware of the hotel operating structure of restaurants and vendors), most restaurants are third parties, and yet they have no problem with me charging it to my room. As the parking deck is part of the structure, why would it not be doable. She again came up with the excuse that it's a third party. She then goes to the back and finds out I could charge it to the room, and pay 6% surcharge to the hotel (2myr or .50usd). So first, she lies and tells me I can't, then upon asking her to triple check, it turns out I can. At this point I decide to go ahead and pay the guy the 33, and then pay the 6% directly to him. I ask for her card so I can file a complaint, and she gets the duty manager who comes out and explains again the third party system. He also explained that the parking deck group didn't sign an agreement with them and so any admin fees would be bore by the hotel, who would in turn charge the guest. I figured it wasn't worth wasting my time- but did point out that they embarrassed me in front of my host for 2myr... 50 cents usd. If a hotel of this level is willing to skimp on 50 cents, then it's not a hotel I'm willing to stay at anymore. I would suggest staying at the hilton, pricing is about the same, and I'm sure they would probably eat a 50cent charge to ensure their clientele aren't put in an embarrassing position- it's shared by same basement lift so just as convenient. I understand the need for policy, which is what computers are good at handling...However when a guest asks for a reasonable request, and it's 50cents to make them happy, a business of this caliber should probably handle this in a discreet and easy way- vs having a parking attendant come and bother their guests, and embarrass them. It's not about the 50 cent surcharge, it's about the potential damage that can be done to a client if they're treated like they can't afford 50 cents. Glad to see this location gamble losing a client over 50 cents. Good job guys. You had plenty of chances to make it right but I didn't so much as get a sorry, we'll review policies or anything. I've written about this hotel previously and everything I wrote there, I am pleased to say still stands today. The Le Meridien went through a refurbishment in 2015 and I am pleased to say that two years later, the hotel still feels immaculate. We stayed in the same suite as last time and bar a slight bit of wear and tear, which is to be expected, the room was excellent and incredibly comfortable. Service was on point, from our arrival in the lobby with the helpful Jason coming over to relieve us of our luggage and make good conversation, through to the staff in the club lounge who looked after us from the check in process, through to great service at the breakfast and cocktail hours in the evening, for which the variety of food and quality of drinks is still very impressive. We also enjoyed the Spa which is great with a 25% discount for SPG Members and rivalled a much more expensive Langkawi Spa we enjoyed at the Four Seasons. Well worth exploring. Overall the stay was excellent and great value for money. We will return. Collapse

Great hotel. Very friendly staff. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean and very comfortable beds. The only negative comment is that the a/c only goes as low as 19C - I prefer it a bit cooler. Breakfast is good - although it's strange to have roast beef served - but there is a good selection of food available. The hotel is also located across the road from the KLIA airport express which means you can be at the airport in 30 minutes - much quicker than a taxi. Collapse

I have stayed at this hotel many years ago and enjoyed my stay then. I am sometimes wary about re-visiting a hotel after all these years; afraid to be disappointed if the hotel has not been maintained well or the deco dated. Not the Le Meridien though. It has been well maintained all this time. Great location - directly across from KL Sentral where the KLIA express train stops. As you alight the train, you literally walk across to the hotel. You can also catch a taxi; or, if you are more adventurous, you catch the train, light rail train (LRT) to about anywhere you like. Despite the proximity to busy Sentral, stepping into the hotel is like stepping into another world. The hotel is very quiet and pleasant. You can relax by the pool after a busy day at work or after a tiring day of shopping. The staff are friendly and helpful. Collapse
