We actually stayed here in October 2016 sorry for the late review. Stayed here for one week in a two bedroom apartment on the 1st floor. The apartments were cleaned every day except for Wednesday but the sheets were never changed during our stay which other people have commented on. If you were there when the maids were there you could ask them but we were out all day and never saw them. It was our first time to Puerto Pollensa so had no idea of the area and didn't realise that the apartments are around 20mins walk to the marina which isn't far but if you are making several trips a day with bags and one person has mobility issues it's not ideal. The beach is closer around 10mins walk with restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there were snacks, bottles of water etc onsite for purchase. We didn't use either of the pools as they tended to be shaded most of the day and the water was freezing so went to the beach instead. This was my 5th visit to Mallorca but my first visit to Puerto Pollensa and it's my new favourite destination it has everything you need! The resort is very popular with cyclists and you will literally see hundreds of cyclists while you are there. There are fantastic beaches the water is shallow and you can wade out quite far and the water is still only waist deep. We will be back but will stay a little closer to the centre of town next time. This was the 2nd time we've stayed at the Las Velas apartments. We came back because we had enjoyed our stay so much last time we were in Mallorca. We stayed in a top floor apartment in one of the "new" blocks which was an ideal size for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children). The apartment was very spacious: The bedrooms (1 dbl, 1 twin) had enough space to move around the beds and get into cupboards and drawers. The open plan lounge/kitchen/diner had plenty of space and felt light and airy. Our balcony faced towards the reception building and we did get some noise in the evenings from people playing the air hockey machine, but it never lasted long. The balcony got morning sun which meant it was nice and shady for lunchtime making it easy to sit and eat outside. Because we had a top floor apartment we also had a sun roof with a barbecue fitted, which was just brilliant. All day sun if you want! The only downside would be if the apartments below you were using their air conditioning the fan/exchanger unit is on the roof. As we visited in October this wasn't a problem but I can imagine it might be intrusive in the high summer. The kitchen consisted of a 4-ring electric hob, a microwave and a fridge (with a small icebox compartment). More than enough facilities to feed ourselves and we ate all except 2 of our 12 evening meals in the apartment. There was also a kettle and a coffee machine, although I believe the coffee machine isn't a standard item. The dining room had a good-sized round table (approx 1.5m diameter) and 4 dining chairs while the balcony had a small plastic table (~1m diameter) and 3 plastic chairs. The lounge had a roomy 3-seater sofa and 2 arm chairs. There was a coffee table and a sideboard with a small flat-screen tv on top. Outside there are 2 pools, one aimed at kids and one round the back which is slightly deeper and more for adults. The kids pool is in the sun all day, the adults pool is more shady. A bonus for us was that the adult pool is 20m long down the middle so some meaningful maintenance training could be done. The reception is now manned 24/7 (apparently this happened when Cabot Group took over). The receptionists were delightful and helpful. They spoke excellent English and were able to give us loads of good advice. Nothing was too much trouble. The cleaners did a perfectly adequate job of cleaning the apartment. They changed our towels when requested. They didn't change the bed linen but we were only there for 12 days so it wasn't expected. I suspect they would have if we'd asked, but I don't know for sure. The location is very good. Less than 10 minutes to walk to the beach and less than 20 minutes to the centre of town. Big supermarket (Eroski) only 15 minutes walk along the road too. What didn't we like? Difficult. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again. I would probably try to make sure I had a top floor new apartment in future, and would be prepared to pay a bit more to ensure that, if necessary. Collapse
tired, dated, main road, but friendly helpful staff

I was disappointed when we arrived, as the apartments were right on the main road, and on a roundabout. We were given one with a roof terrace, which we didn't use. It had high concrete walls, but stood up, the view was nice of the sea(just) and the mountains. I wouldn't pay extra for this, unless you just want to lay on the sunbed all day. Plenty of beds round the two pools, which we didn't use. We had hired a car for the week, so really just slept, had breakfast, made a picnic and were out for the day. The place is very tired, basic and troubled by ants, there was a large spray under the kitchen sink to deal with them! Staff were friendly and helpful, and any maintenance issues were soon sorted. I was woken by the road noise each morning. We didn't use the pools, but there were young children always in them when we returned each day. There was a drinks/sweets machine near the reception desk, and they sold water and possibly alcoholic drink, but why would you when there are so many restaurants and bars in the resort. To be fair, it was only a 5 minute walk to the promenade and beach after you crossed the road. The holiday was cheapish and suited our needs,( 3 adults). The weather was good for October. Would I return to this complex .....No, too much traffic noise and too tired and basic. Collapse

Sorry to have to go against the love for this place, but our 2 week holiday here was not to our liking. The reception and foyer were bright and modern but on entering the room it was dark, drab and musty. The view from the room was of the wall of the adjacent building and the only way to see the sky was to go outside! Furniture was dated, the fridge had large rusty sections to the door, and tv only had Spanish programmes. Cleaning was allways done within 5 minutes and our bed linen was not changed once. Ants were running all over the work surface and also walking up your legs while you sat on the sofa. With tiled floors every bit of noise transferred down to us, and also the upstairs waste pipe ran down our internal bedroom wall so every flush was like a waterfall, needless to say we didn't get much sleep. The room was in close proximity of a few outside amusement games so had the noise from that as well as people/children using our small patio area as a cut through. Luckily the weather was good so we could get out and about, but was always depressing when we had to return to our room. We've been coming to this area for many years and stayed at several different hotels, and until now never had cause to complain. Would not stay here again for free! Collapse

All the staff were really freindly so a massive thank you to the man at reception, the cleaners, the pool man and the gardeners. A job well done Collapse
