I have just returned from a 3 night stay with my friend and loved every minute. Yes we had been e mailed about the building work & downgrading from 4 to 3* but decided to go anyway. The hotel staff were very welcoming on our arrival and our room was fine, spacious and well equipped bathroom, flat screen TV & fridge. They had happy hour with 2 for 1 drinks between 5.30 & 6.30 a great bonus. The food in the restaurant was fine & we always got a table with a sea view & bottle of wine for €12 which is reasonable in a hotel. Breakfast was fine with a lovely selection of fresh fruits, cereal & yogurt. The Brits didn't like the frankfurter sausages or Spanish bacon but I don't eat cooked breakfast so it didn't bother me. We loved the pool & they don't unlock gates to pool till 9.30 so you can be ready after breakfast to get your sunbeds. Non of that 6 am rubbish like some people have reported on TripAdvisor! The noise from the refurbishment work was not very noticeable and they stopped for a siesta around 3pm. Don't believe all you read about the hotel it's fine & will be lovely when all the work is finished. It's in a great location only over the road from the beach what more do you need!? We are definitely going back when it's finished ! Collapse
Worst hotel ever been to.

No decent entertainment they only catered for Spanish with dancing. Don't seem interested in British. Fuengir irola itself is lovely but definitely won't be back and wouldn't recommend this hotel never a 4 star. Collapse

I booked through Booking.com (£503 for just 2 nights!!) and on arrival (last night) at the hotel found so many things wrong with the room that I had to go down to reception 5 times on the first evening. The sofabed wasn't opened and there were no sheets for me to make it. We have been given one of the new rooms in the 'still being renovated' block' The balcony door was badly fitted so it wouldn't close, (I have children and they couldn't sleep with the Caberet music below), the room is extremely warm as the air conditioning broke twice (no a/c all night) and my children found it difficult to sleep last night too. We landed yesterday evening to 32degrees heat which is glorious but we haven't acclimatised yet). There was no remote control for the A/C in the room, the key cards wouldn't work twice (requiring return visits back downstairs each time!) I found the phone still in it's box on the bedside table, the sliding cupboard door was swinging as it kept slipping out of it's poorly fitted bracket on the floor and there is constant drilling & hammering throughout the day from the floor below as they are still renovating (I wasn't informed of this beforehand). I am so fed up after one night of all this that I asked for a refund for the tonight as I want to leave. They flatly refused as my booking was a 'non-fundable' booking. The fire alarms still have their plastic covers on (they said this was fine!!) and one of the lights on the side of the mirror in the bathroom doesn't work. The sofa bed (as there are 4 of us) is under a light that flickered all night and was very irritating. The room IS lovely and modern but was badly managed: not finished or checked for visitors. I'm so disappointed as I booked this hotel for 2 nights as a treat for my children before we go to stay with family and it's not been enjoyable or relaxing! Never coming to Las Pirámides, Fuengirola again. Collapse

We're currently on holiday at this hotel & i feel the need to write this review while we're still here!!! Granted we're only on day 2 but HONESTLY we can't find anything wrong with this hotel!! We did book a superior room and had to downgrade a week before as the superior rooms are not ready yet.., but that's the only fault!! I read trip advisor regularly & i was DREADING coming here as some of these reviews are shocking !!! We had a lovely meal in the restaurant last night ( spaghetti bolognese , lasagna , paella chips just as an example) yes there were fish dishes but plenty more to choose from & breakfast this morning was really tasty too (fried eggs were nice & fresh REAL baked beans, bacon hotdog sausage scrambled egg ) the pool area doesn't open until 9.30 which i think is a great idea to stop people towelling sun beds at 6 am!! Yes the sun beds are a little dated but useable... it's in a FANTASTIC location right across from the beach which is fab!!! My point to this review is STOP COMPLAINING AND ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY!!!! It's really not fair to the people who are due to come here as there is NOTHING wrong with this hotel Right now i'm off to enjoy some more rays and possibly have a dip in one of the two pools!! Enjoy Collapse

Where do I start! Sorry if you have booked here and are reading this, however I need to be honest. I've never written a review before but I feel you need to be warned! We had 2 rooms. The beds and towels were changed every day. Our bathroom was never cleaned in 10 days, the long black hair that was in there on the floor upon arrival was still there when we left. The fridges don't work properly, one of the 2 air con units didn't work properly, bin in bedroom not emptied for a few days the upgraded rooms we didn't get, the rooms we did get were very dated, a far cry from what they advertise on their website! We went half board. My partner ate one breakfast and didn't touch another for the whole holiday, my mum and I was eating toast, on another post the manager says the scrambled egg is up to food standards, can I just say this may be, but it didn't make it edible, the cereal is like card board, evening meals were foul, and what was on the menu outside the dining room was not always actually served! Cheek of pork is a regular meat served! Fish with eyes etc. We had to eat out after a few nights. Apart from reception staff all other staff really unfriendly, dining room staff being the worst. At the pool side witnessed British children being told they couldn't wear t-shirts for sunburn but Spanish children had inflatables and balls in the pool. Entertainment is very poor and all in Spanish, not 1 night do they cater for any other country. The flamenco dancers on the poster were adult dancers, however we got 3 children who couldn't actually dance bless them. They advertised ballet one night which my mum looked forward to, again this was something advertised that didn't happen. It's a disgrace how this hotel charging 4* prices. It's not even 3* Collapse
