I have stayed at this hotel several times during the past 10 years, and have witnessed it's steady decline. Turn the clock back 10 years, and it was worthy of its 4 star rating without any doubt, but today that rating is questionable. Whilst public rooms are clean and fresh, the same cannot be said for the rest of the hotel. Rooms are adequate but only average in size and decor. They are clean though and the maids do their best for you. The main plus point for this hotel is it's location. It's situated a short walk from the main centre, and so is generally very quiet. The train station is around a 10 minute walk away. There is a taxi rank just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Although meals were never a strong point with the hotel, without any doubt this is the main area where standards have significantly fallen. In the past, although the dinner offering was adequate, even if not inspiring, today the standard is more of a 2-star offering. Local restaurants offer a far better standard for lower prices. The breakfast service has also deteriorated, and after 2 mornings, I decided to pass on any further visits. There were cereals available, fresh fruit (although this only consisted of pineapple and melon on the days I visited), bacon, various eggs, beans and tomatoes, yoghurt, and processed meats and cheeses. Yes, you could find something, but it was not at all inspiring. Most guests remarked on the poor selection. Entertainment in the evening was a combination of a pianist or a musical duo. The standard was very good in my opinion Whilst I was there, there were large parties of golfers who monopolised the bar area most evenings in various degrees of intoxication. I really didn't believe the sport attracted this type of following. Twenty or more rowdy golfers, highly intoxicated and swearing profusely have to be witnessed The hotel is divided into two blocks, the second one being temporarily closed due to major refurbishment. I would hope that this work will result in this hotel restoring some of its previous qualities. Collapse

The best thing I can write about this hotel is bed. They do have very comfortable beds. And that's it. I will list the things that I did not like: 1. Staff at reception speaks English only a little. 2. No WIFI in the hotel's room unless you buy a wifi ticket for at least 5 EURO/day. Is this XXI countury hotel? 3. Breakfast is poor quality, including coffee. 4. On the dinners door there is an announcement "If you take something away from the dinning room, you will be charged". No, it is not funny! 5. Printing an invoice - first of all a man at reception did not knwo what an invoice is. Secondly - he had to call somone from the head office, a lady came, took a bill from reception and disapeared. She came back after 15 minuts with an invoice. Congratulations! Having all in mind, I do suggest not to stay in this hotel. Collapse

Stayed for four nights from 2nd to 6th April. First impression was that hotel has been top quality in the past but now is stuck in the 60's but obviously that is why the refurb is taking place. Our room was also dated but we liked it and it had full facilities. Our problems started with our room card which did not work properly and after three visits to reception we were told to go back to our room and a technician would be their right away. We stood outside our room for 20 minutes then had to return to the reception to have resolved .time wasted 1hr 30 mins. Second day spent afternoon at the pool which is good and returned to room for a shower before happy hour only to find that our room had not been cleaned and it took two hours to have this resolved.Needless to say no happy hour for us that night. I attempted to make a appointment to talk to the manager and was told to return next morning at 9pm which we did only to be told that the manager was not on site and they had only found out. We were asked to explain our complaint to the managers secretary who did not speak English so one of the reception staff had to translate Expected some feedback from manager but this was not forthcoming thus this review. As for the food we found the evening meal to be ok although limited in variety but lovely sea views from the restaurant Breakfast however was probably 2star ( never been to a 4star where the tables are not set for you) The carpet on the raised area was filthy I know they in process of refurb but am afraid I still expected four star standards Collapse

Superbreak star ratings are given as a guide to help you choose between our hotels and do not necessarily relate to those awarded by other organisations.
They symbolise the level of service and range of facilities that you can expect at the property; ranging from 1 star - hotels with the simplest range of facilities, to five stars - luxury hotels with a wider range of facilities.
Please note that different countries have different standards and star ratings may differ according to the country where the hotel is located.
