Stayed pre cruise for 2 nights after staying here in 2009. I had a fabulous stay at the The Langham and although it lacks the views of The Pen and Intercontinental, it exceeds in every other way. After staying in these two hotels in the past with island view rooms it did not worry me at all. I was most fortunate to have access to my room a little earlier after an overnight flight so that was a very good start. I chose to upgrade my room to the newer style and it was just lovely, super clean and whilst small was just so elegant and cosy. I like a very quiet room and that is what I was allocated. Thanks to Betty and housekeeping manager, Leslie who made me feel very special and couldn't do enough for me. Thanks to Elena too in the lobby...she is so charming and helpful. Exceptional check in and check out with Peggy ( really went the extra mile) and Carmela. The afternoon tea in The Palm Court was pretty good but I have had better. I think a few more non sweet items would be nice. But well done to the pastry chefs for creating works of art in the cakes. I would have loved a glass of bubbles with my arvo tea but I thought $Aud 30 plus was excessive, even on holidays!! A criticism would be improve the English/black tea (in the hotel generally - it's definitely not Twinings!!It is NEVER hot and despite stirring and steeping the tea it is weak. Management needs to deal with this as us Aussies like the British are precious about a good cup of tea! I usually avail myself of the Club if available in hotels, however, I didn't this time due to the group tour. So there was a slight sense of dread going to the buffet breakfast especially have to queue up! Queuing as a guest in 5 star hotels is unacceptable! Anyway that wasn't for long, and whilst crowded it was a good breakfast with loads of choice. (Shame about the tea but I have covered that). Great omelette cooked by John - yum! Day 2 - i think the hotel needs extra staff at breakfast.... I had to ask for coffee and then a cup. They are too busy to attend to the small but important aspects of breakfast service. I was bitterly disappointed that the pool and spa were unavailable due to renovation. I did not know this til just before I left home and a certain amount of my disappointment is directed at our group travel agency who should not have allowed this to happen on a luxury package. These are services I like to use and travelling to Mongkok just seemed a bit of an effort. (Langham did offer this alternative and apologised profusely). Still at least the guests coming in April will reap the benefits. I did see the new gym and it looks nice and new but a bit bland. But what looks good???? Tried The Main St Deli..... pleasant enough. I was a bit stumped with the giant pickle presented to me but apparently that is a treat for the Americans (go figure???!!!). I was quite bemused with the decor but that may be just me. A cacophony of multi coloured floor tiles, chandeliers, metal trim and some kind of reptile skin covered chairs. What differentiates the Langham from all the others (and you will note I have stayed at a few) is the exemplary standard of customer service. I noted this on my review in 2009 the service has only got better. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and I am not sure why it is not ranked higher on Trip Adviser.....probably due to the lack of view. Because of the fantastic service I have given 5 stars as it was so terrific that I forgive the lacklustre tea! Collapse

Checked in at 10.00am and by upgrading to a suite for an extra HK $400 /day we were able to get into the suite at 11.00am. At the Langham Club on floor 11 you have a personal check in and check out. Breakfast, afternoon tea with champagne if you want and early evening complimentary cocktails are served here. Service here was excellent, especially from YoYo. I think the wooden tables in the lounge are small and Spartan looking. Possibly marble top ones would be more in keeping. Evening turndown was perfect. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. In the bedroom the air con was a bit fierce. The bathroom was very nice with a good shower and an egg type bath, but there was only one sink. Generally though the hotel was well situated close to the Star ferry terminal and the service was exceptional. Collapse
We just had a four night stay and could not fault The Langham.

We stayed on 11 th floor and were given the privilege of using The Club, From here we were checked in and given a butler service,so charming and helpful. So we had breakfast and could pop in for a drink in the early evening and stay on for a nice light meal. Each visit we were greeted and waited upon. Did we need any help at all 24 hours a day. We also invited a guest for lunch and the buffet was beautiful and a large range to choose from. Location is ideal in Kowloon . Collapse

We arrived at the hotel at 9:30AM directly from the Regent Ship "Voyageur" only to find out that our pre booked stay thru Regent (at a exorbitant up-charge) EXPECTED us wait in the lobby along with numerous other surprised ship guests, until 3:00pm for a check-in. Fortunately the friendly hotel staff upgraded us for a small charge to a suite, for an immediate check-in. Minutes later we arrived in the room, where soon after the hotel delivered us a bucket of ice, and a plate of both Fancy & Tasty cup cakes as a welcoming gift!!!! Now that is what I call making your guests feel SPECIAL!!! TAKE NOTE REGENT! Collapse
