The Land of Northern Lights, escorted tour is 5 day/4 night winter trip to Reykjavik and the Icelandic countryside. Explore Southwest Iceland, known for its natural wonders and cultural sites. See glittering glaciers, snow-clad mountains, giant lava fields and steaming hot springs. Bathe in the mineral rich geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon, walk on a black lava beach, visit an Icelandic horse farm and travel close to the famous Eyjafjallajokull volcano. You overnight two nights in Reykjavik and two nights in the countryside. It’s truly a magnificent place to be on a dark clear night when the stars are out and a full moon lights up the surroundings. On the best of nights, the Northern Lights come out to dance as well.
A fantastic-value package, the tour provides basic accommodation for an authentic, rustic Icelandic experience. Spend the first and last evening of the trip in Guesthouse Borgartún in Reykjavik, and go native at the outdoorsy Árhús Cabins in Hella for the rest of the trip – with free Wi-Fi access, a small kitchenette in each cabin and an onsite restaurant, you’ll have everything you need here.
For a more luxurious experience, be sure to upgrade the tour and stay in acclaimed local hotels instead. Downtown Reykjavik’s Centerhotel Plaza and Hella’s Stracta Hotel offer cosier, more indulgent accommodation to retreat to on your exploration of the great Icelandic outdoors. Please note, hotels are subject to availability.
