We had a three night stay here for Easter, The hotel was good overall with nice little seating areas around the reception. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped with plentyof hot water, Free Wifi throughout the hotel. Tv in room has limited stations. Breakfast was good and plentyof it when you add the pastries ect. Although the hotel is close the the airport this wasnt a problem as they stop around 9pm and start around 8.30 but are very quiet and we didnt notice them. Although the health suite was closed for Easter we did have use of the pool. We only have a couple of negitive comments The rooms could do with a redecoration and modernising, ie theromostatic mixer for the shower nicer lighting. The roof of the pool needs repairs which they did put a notice up about, but i would have thought they would have done the work out of season would i stay there again ...... Yes Collapse

As impressed, if not a bit more than previous visit. Staff recognised us - even after being 5 months. Hotel still could do with a lick of paint on the outside but don't let that fool you. Rooms inside are lovely, clean and a reasonable size. During this stay, 3rd floor was closed due to what looked like major refurb. Not that you could notice, other than accidentally going to 3rd. Lift opened and all new accessories were stacked close to door. Never heard any building noise during stay. This stay was short & wasn't able to enjoy the restaurant in evenings but the food looked lovely, as was menu. Had breakfast, and being out of season, not surprised that the magnificent continental options were slightly reduced but informed that this was to change the next week. Full English was a slight let down, again prob down to reduction in clientele in low season. Big breakfast, lots of choice but bacon was obs pre-cooked and under lamp or hotplate (not a criticism), sausages to die for! Understand the restaurant is now leased out. Has been redecorated, new table linen & think new chairs/tables, love the new lighting too. Still have the same chef (he is damn good) & Restaurant Manager, Carlos (love him to bits), Bar Manager (poss not his title) ... Richardo/Richard(?) - PS if you read this R, love seeing you smile & chat more. Under new management the restaurant seems more friendly. Didn't get chance to visit the Spa/leisure facilities this time. As for reception, they excelled themselves on the last visit & didn't falter this time either. Very kindly checked us in for flights back to UK & printed boarding tickets with no fuss or cost. All in all this hotel is worth staying at ... its midway between airport & St Peter Port. Taxis are reasonably priced but so are hire cars. Mid/High season will see later bus services and for about a £1 each per trip, the best way to travel. Plenty of parking at hotel, though I suspect this could be an issue during mid/high season. Mike (owner) seems to know what he is doing - only suggestion I would make that Mike starts to mark out designated parking spaces for those that are visiting spa/restaurant and not residents. All in all our visit for such a sad occasion was made so much better by having the experience we we had. Negs: One key for room, close to airport but no late fights & early one is not too bad. Room can get hot, but you can turn down radiators. Lift buttons can be a prob, floor 2 button plays up, but reception will run up stairs to sort. Stairs are not steep or too many Collapse

Just stayed here for 7 days. This is only rated as a 3 star hotel but the food is much better than that! Waiters Carlos and Ricardino are very good at their job. We never had to wait very long to be served and there was plenty of choice on both breakfast and dinner menus. Portion sizes were quite sufficient for us too! Everyone was very helpful and gave us many useful tips to make our stay really enjoyable. Only downside - as many other Tripadviser reviewers have mentioned - is the pool area, It really does still need a fair amount of work to fix the ceiling. Also, having to walk barefoot from the changing rooms and through the gym was enough to stop my wife using the pool. (The sauna took some finding too!) As we don't drive we bought 7-day 'Puffin' passes and used the buses every day. Collapse
There are better places - so go to those!

My reviews are always true and I always aim to be as objective as possible. I chose this hotel because of the spa/leisure facilities - that was a waste of time. My friend and I are currently here as we wanted to do some cycling on the island and so to have a pool, sauna and steam room would be great for after cycling the island. So...... the pool is freezing. We only managed to stay in there for about 10 minutes. The roof of the pool is falling down - photo's attached. The steam room, which would have been great for our aching legs is not working and is currently a store room for gym equipment - photo's attached. There is a great variety of gym equipment available to suit everyone's needs. The ladies toilet in the main hotel......there are 4 toilets and 3 of them are out of order! We ate in the restaurant last night (1/03/17) and the food was fantastic. Carlos was amazing and a great guy. Breakfast....the cooked breakfast was very nice but the only cereal available was bran flakes or alpen!!! So not a very good choice. The room..... is that ever dated and run down! Nothing matched on the décor and the valance on the bed has never seen and iron! The curtains and the bedding and the whole room is stuck in some kind of 70's timewarp! The shower has a glass door but because of the handles on the bath, it won't close! So not sure what the point of that is?? And today, our cleaner left us a duster in the bathroom - we did not leave it dirty!!!! Overall, you can go somewhere much nicer and a lot more modern than here and that would be my advice. For a little bit more, you can go to the St. Pierre Park Hotel or Le Friquet. The whole place needs a good revamp and bringing into the 21st century and you can still maintain the character of the hotel. Disappointed. Collapse
