Just stayed here for 7 days. This is only rated as a 3 star hotel but the food is much better than that! Waiters Carlos and Ricardino are very good at their job. We never had to wait very long to be served and there was plenty of choice on both breakfast and dinner menus. Portion sizes were quite sufficient for us too! Everyone was very helpful and gave us many useful tips to make our stay really enjoyable. Only downside - as many other Tripadviser reviewers have mentioned - is the pool area, It really does still need a fair amount of work to fix the ceiling. Also, having to walk barefoot from the changing rooms and through the gym was enough to stop my wife using the pool. (The sauna took some finding too!) As we don't drive we bought 7-day 'Puffin' passes and used the buses every day. Collapse
There are better places - so go to those!

My reviews are always true and I always aim to be as objective as possible. I chose this hotel because of the spa/leisure facilities - that was a waste of time. My friend and I are currently here as we wanted to do some cycling on the island and so to have a pool, sauna and steam room would be great for after cycling the island. So...... the pool is freezing. We only managed to stay in there for about 10 minutes. The roof of the pool is falling down - photo's attached. The steam room, which would have been great for our aching legs is not working and is currently a store room for gym equipment - photo's attached. There is a great variety of gym equipment available to suit everyone's needs. The ladies toilet in the main hotel......there are 4 toilets and 3 of them are out of order! We ate in the restaurant last night (1/03/17) and the food was fantastic. Carlos was amazing and a great guy. Breakfast....the cooked breakfast was very nice but the only cereal available was bran flakes or alpen!!! So not a very good choice. The room..... is that ever dated and run down! Nothing matched on the décor and the valance on the bed has never seen and iron! The curtains and the bedding and the whole room is stuck in some kind of 70's timewarp! The shower has a glass door but because of the handles on the bath, it won't close! So not sure what the point of that is?? And today, our cleaner left us a duster in the bathroom - we did not leave it dirty!!!! Overall, you can go somewhere much nicer and a lot more modern than here and that would be my advice. For a little bit more, you can go to the St. Pierre Park Hotel or Le Friquet. The whole place needs a good revamp and bringing into the 21st century and you can still maintain the character of the hotel. Disappointed. Collapse

We were put up here by Flybe for one night when our plane broke down. Quick service- Rushed straight into the restaurant at 8:30pm as if service had never been so late to a fixed menu after reviving our room key. Starter- pesto and haloumi cheese on toast was good and Brie also a good starter. My partner had the steak which came with chips and tomato which he enjoyed. I had butternut squash curry which was like soup with broccoli, carrot and cauliflower in it- no flavour what's so ever and definitely could not pass as a curry. Desert- creme brûlée was good and cheese board good. Waiter service- poor, arrogant, rushed. We were offered red or white wine and had to ask a few times for the wine list as if it was a chore to the waiter and out of the ordinary, when we made our choice he replied with that is what I was going to serve you anyway, surely it's nice to have a choice and decide for yourself when you are on holiday! Room- We stayed on the first floor in 105. It was cold with only two pillows on a double and no water provided ( water is for sale at the bar for £1.99 in a glass bottle)A kettle and heater provided however. Doors were banging downstairs a lot of the night and in the early hours noise which we could only guess was washing machines from the lower level. Bathroom clean. We would not return based on our experience this time. Collapse

My family and I stayed here from 11th February. The receptionist Mark was rude and couldn't even bring himself to say hello or good morning. Mark knocked on my door one morning while I was only half dressed saying that the fire alarm in my room had been going off I told him that it wasn't, he barged in and insisted on looking while I am stood there with a duvet wrapped around me. It was only deodorant but he accused me of smoking which I am not a smoker. The cleaners were extremely rude and even made my sister get out of the shower so that they could clean. The manager Mike crashed into me on the stairs and didn't even apologise! To use the swimming pool you have to walk through the gym from the changing rooms with nothing on your feet onto a dirty floor. The kitchen was closed so you couldn't have diner supposedly due to electrical maintenance, but we were told by our waiter that it was due to bad hygiene. They did breakfast but it was cooked on a stove in the middle of the dining room. The breakfast was horrible everything was burnt. The staff even sat round us and ate breakfast with us. The only good thing about the hotel was Ricky the waiter who was polite and professional. It got that bad that we even checked out earlier than we should have and Mark didn't even ask why or if there was a problem! I don't know how this place is still open I will 100% not be returning. Previous reviews state hotel looks 'tired'. The positive spin is that it does feel old fashioned, but this just adds to the charm. The hotel is only a 20min casual walk from the airport, which is good if u only have hand luggage which I had. There is bus stops outside the hotel with regular bus services into Peter Port or to go clockwise round the island for a quid! The only issue I had with the service of hotel was that my sausages were raw in the middle when it came to breakfast, however this was rectified by the staff with no issues. The health suit is fullly equipped and clean as was the pool. For £49 for a night I would definitely stay again Collapse
