My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and 4 days, from the 8th of November 2010. We were nothing but impressed at the high standards that this hotel set. Everything was really clean; the staff were really friendly, helpful and always went out of their way to provide a truly excellent customer experience. The room was more than sufficient for what we needed it for, the maid came in daily, made our beds and replaced the towels in the bathroom with fresh ones everyday. The shower was very powerful and didn't change temperature. To run a bath took seconds and the water was always plenty hot enough. Our only worry was the location of the hotel to Belfast city centre. The hotel has a lovely spa. The sauna, swimming pool, steam rooms, jacuzzi and gym facilities are to a very high standard. There is little reason to venture out of the hotel if you want a relaxing weekend away; however, it is a short taxi ride to the city centre which can work out quite expensive. Our taxis cost between £10 and £14 each way and this soon adds up. We went to the city at least every day, but are used to high travel costs with a single bus journey costing us around £5 each at home anyway. When asking the hotel staff about alternative travel methods, they set up a complimentary lift for us whenever and wherever we wanted to go, which certainly goes above and beyond everything I have ever experienced before. Even when setting up for a big conference, they still managed to spare us a member of staff which we are more than grateful for. The staff were very easy to talk to, giving advice and recommending places and things to see. We couldn't have asked for anything more from them. The managing director of the hotel was most friendly and refreshing. He made every possible effort to ensure that his guests had the best possible experience, even if it was just by saying good morning and asking them how there stay was. He was actually the person who set up the lifts for us and made sure that he had personal rapport with as many people as possible. After speaking to the staff, they had nothing but good things to say about him and all of them seemed grateful to be working for him. This reflected in their attitudes and provided a good atmosphere at all times. Collapse

Booked a "spa package" for 4 friends and I and all of us are majorly dissatisfied with our experience. Walked into the front door with full hopes, got to the leisure reception disappointed. Zero spa atmosphere was like walking into our local pool, but worse. Had to wear hideous swim hats. No private changing area so had to resort to changing in the toilet. Had to ask a friend for a lend of a pound coin to use the locker. Then had to ask her for a lend of a hair tie to make a wrist band because how was i going to use the pool holding a key? The "package" included slippers and robe.. But what for? No where to hang them up when using the pool. Wanted an area to lounge and "relax" which was our intentions for the trip but looking at the plastic garden furniture we just ended up sitting in the changing area while women were getting changed around us. Very uncomfortable. Had to sit and wait at the spa reception which is just 2 seats down a corridor and felt so conscious with other guests walking by and gawking at us. Went for my full body "massage" which i knew from my friend who went before me was awful, bt i gave the masseuse the benefit of doubt and went on anyway. I ticked "firm pressure" for my massage and i got "lighter than light" she literally just rubbed moisturiser on me. She kept talking for most of the hour there and i didnt feel relaxed at all. So dehydrated after the treatment and was only when i walked past a jug of whatever i poured myself some. My friend even had to go looking for water herself which she found in the gym. Couldnt wait to get changed and out of the hotel. Will never return again. And in fairness.. Wouldnt call it a spa. Collapse

The food was very nice. For starters I had the salad and chicken nuggets. For mains I had stuffed pork loin and roast beef. The desserts were to die for. I had the strawberry roulade. Bit pricey though. Still highly recommended.

We stayed over for one night as we were attending a function on the Saturday night. The Hotel is exceptional and I can't fault anything while we stayed here. The food at our function was delicious and served piping hot.Again in the morning the breakfast which is buffet style was perfect and again everything was cooked to perfection and piping hot. All the staff were lovely and very obliging and a credit to the Hotel. Not much more to say other than the La Mon House Hotel is well worth a visit and great value for money. Collapse
