First time staying in a castle...fantastic experience. We were 8 adults and 4 children. Spacious luxurious rooms. Family of 4 in suite had ample room. Food and service faultless. One member is a wheelchair user, accessibility very good. Food allergies well catered for . Babysitter recommended by hotel staff excellent. Grounds beautiful and well maintained. Warm and inviting. Will definitely make a return visit and will recommend highly. Collapse

There is a lot I could say about this hotel, but I will keep it short and sweet - Its' very rural, has great facilities including a pool, and spa, the staff are very professional, helpful and enthusiastic, and the rooms are very comfortable. The food is also very good. The guests during my stay tended to be a slightly older, international demographic with some younger folk. This is a great place to get away from the madding crowd and unwind. Collapse

This is a very comfortable hotel - our room was in the old part of the castle over the front door almost - great views and probably the most comfortable bed ever. The staff for the main part are friendly and helpful although the young guys in the bar in the evening time could probably do with a little training in terms of customer service. The food in the bar was very good and the dinner in the fine dining restaurant was good too. The service was excellent. This really is a retreat from the world - be ready to check in and forget it all it's a great place to do it. It is a busy hotel with tour buses checking in but they are very well able to cope with the numbers. Nice walks in the area as well. Breakfast I felt was a let down to the whole experience. It is self service - practical given the numbers and the food available was plentiful, hot and good - but in terms of the luxury break away this lets the side down a bit. Overall it's a lovely comfortable hotel - but it lacks the little touches that would make it truly excellent. A bit too corporate but that's probably just me! On the whole I would recommend it and would return if I got a good deal again. Collapse

Like anyone we were worried that a "Castle" experience would be underwhelming. We were thrilled. Our room could only be described as enormous. Not only did we have a bedroom that was big enough for the 4 of us to fit comfortably - we could move around into our own sitting room as well. The common areas of the castle are quite ornate & give a sense of grandeur. The grounds are a wonderful place to explore and even in the brisk winter cold we were well entertained with all the hidden treasures we found - including what looked like an old building held together by vines and undergrowth. The pool was a great way to burn off the last of the energy before sitting down to a marvellous meal. Something for everyone. The staff could not have been any more helpful and friendly. This was a highlight of our trip. Collapse

We booked a few days in Lough Rynn last August and to be fair we weren't disappointed the location and the outstanding first glimpse were fantastic, the staff really friendly and helpful, the room was again first class and I think couldn't be improved, luxury at its best . We ate in the hotel bar the first night which I have to say was our only gripe the food was not the best and a shade expensive , our son got the steak sandwich and was poor , myself and my wife had the fish , the garnishes were small and the side plate of chips small . On to more positive side the gym and leisure facilities brilliant absolutely top class , the walks around the grounds again first class . The breakfast made up for the disappointment of the evening meal a great selection of cereals , continental and Irish served up by a very helpful staff . We know there is a excellent dining room with an award winning chef but when you kids are plain eaters it would be nice to have a little more thought into the bar menu . I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Leitrim area or planning a nice relaxing weekend away , I would return and stay at this hotel Collapse
