Booked for 2 nights and loved every minute of it. From check in to check out every staff member we encountered was so lovely and friendly. Hotel had a relaxed atmosphere and we felt like we were at home. Our room was huge, bed was so comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. It felt like you were in a castle but slightly modernised which we appreciated as it made the stay so much more comfortable. The food was gorgeous in the drawing room bar, we only ate here. I strongly recommend the chocolate tart, heaven. Grounds are gorgeous, but the one standout for us was the Thermal Suite, it was amazing, would have stayed there for the day, definatly the best I've been to in Ireland. Also recommend clay pigeon shooting at Lough gara stables, had so much fun and Jimmy the owner was a great laugh. Collapse

We stayed here for a recent wedding and my boyfriend left his shirt behind in the room. Yet nobody could find it and the woman that eventually called me back after a week of email said "You know yourself- these things happen"! What kind of a response is that! Very very disappointed, She also said she would have another look and call me back. A week has passed since that and nothing! Terrible Customer Service. The room was fine- nothing special. Breakfast was disappointing, no-one came by to see if we were OK? Or needed anything. The food was mediocre. Will not be returning or recommending! Collapse

Kilronan Castle will remain very special to us, and one of the major highlights of our trip. We had made reservations months in advance and were looking forward to a special time. Nothing could have prepared us for how special it turned out. We had reserved a standard double room (which would have been in the newer extension to the main castle); however, when we arrived we were greeted & informed that we were getting a complementary upgrade to a suite in the castle. WOW!!! We have no idea what led to this, but it was awesome. We dined in the "Drawing Room" that evening and everything was delicious. Service was outstanding although we did have some difficulty getting the bill at dinner (waited almost an hour after finishing our meal and asking for the bill) & the first one the waitress brought, was someone else's? Other than that small incident; the service, the accommodations, the views & the grounds were all wonderful. That two night stay will always be special. We send out a tremendous thank you to the Kilronan Castle & their staff. Collapse

My wife and myself took our selves off for a bit of R&R, what a place to choose from many choices of Castles in Ireland. From the 21st century outside the grounds to the first step inside the castle doors you enter a world of Medieval surroundings a delight. The staff at reception very helpful with information covering dinner, breakfast also light meals in the drawing room if you so wished. Our room was very spacious and very clean all round,a very good size main bed. The bathroom again very clean and no shortage of toiletries, the only small issue we had was the shower but with a few attempts we mastered it. We were very fortunate to have great weather on our side for we adventured around the Castle grounds both inside and outside with a walk along the trails around the lake. We had a dinner included in our stay which we booked for our 2nd night in the main restaurant. The moment you arrived to be seated to your table to the good night on leaving the staff were very attentive and very pleasant. The meal outstanding, some choices had a surcharge but well worth it go that extra mile. Then an after dinner drink in the Palm Court to finish. The pool area again very clean, the dim lighting gave you a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Finally the staff could not be more friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. All in all a very enjoyable stay, We will return along with our family. Collapse

I attended a wedding in Ballyfarnon with the reception in Kilronan Castle, and stayed for 2 nights (1 night before the wedding, and the night of the wedding) in a beautiful semi-detached two-storey house. The house was stunning! AND I LOVED THE UNDERFLOOR HEATING!!! The room for the reception was magnificent! A great-sized room and lots of space, and a huge dancefloor (which was used to it's max!!) The bar underneath was great. Very great setting and peaceful. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very happy with my stay! Literally no problems!! Well done to Kilronan Castle. Just wow. (It says I stayed in July 2016, but I stayed in June 2014! I know, a bit late!!) Collapse
