We recently enjoyed a visit to Killarney, the town had a festive atmosphere with it's lavish street decorations and activities, even some jarvies had their jaunting cars converted to sleighs and their horses to reindeers. The lights in draped blanket formation on College Street looked as if the universe was about to descend on to the place - this all led us to "The Towers!" hotel and leisure centre where we stayed on the 29th and 30th of December. We had a wonderful time/experience from the time of arrival to the time of departure, from the friendly greeting of the girls at the front desc and from all other staff members we met within the complex of the hotel/leisure centre and O'Donoghue's Pub. Parking was readily available just across the road which made the hotel easily accessible. This hotel has a Vegas like glass front with a plush reception/lobby area which had Christmas notations tastily adorning the area - nothing tatty here, just classy which was the style through out - . There are famous Tower hotels world wide but "The Killarney Towers" in College Street would compare favourably, our room was spacious and gracious with Queen size bed, onsuite had a Jacuzzi in bathroom with beautiful decor and a full range of toiletries and fragrances provided. The Leisure Centre with it's heated swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room, can only be described as "an area of pure relaxation". The decor here is a mixture of Greek pillars and copper goddesses with Victorian type windows, all adding to the experience.- you emerge refreshed and renewed -. The hotel has plenty of areas to sit and relax and have some beverages or food if desired. It's dining room, Inisfallen which also provides buffet style dinner is top notch. If you stay here eat here, they go hand in hand, one complements the other."O'Donoghue's Pub" had live music on both nights, with a ballad/trad mixture. It had a lively atmosphere with a festive flavour to the entertainment. Only problem here was finding a seat as the place was heaving and you had to wait for someone to leave to get one, which did not happen too often - who would want to give up a ringside seat when you have that kind of atmosphere provided -. There is a slogan on a poster outside the Crypt Night Club which is located in the dungeon area of the hotel (It has midevil like doors) "Dare to be different" . This hotel has taken this to heart, in that it is NOT your mass produced/replicated theme like hotel, here they have done it differently. With it's palatial entrance and Queen size beds the blue blood of Royalty could easily flow through here. If you want to experience the luxury of a palace at prices very affordable in a contemporary four star hotel, this is the place to stay in. In his mission statement the general manager, Giles Casey states that the hotel is "committed towards providing the highest standard in all there products and services in their pursuit of excellence", I can assure Giles that he is almost there - full marks to his hotel and staff -. Queen Victoria in her visit to Killarney in 1861 stayed in nearby Muckross House to absorb the peace and tranquility of the area, I am not sure if The Towers was in existence then (I am sure not) but if it was it would have met with Her Majesty's approval - a place fit for a Queen -. "I am very sorry to leave, I have had an extremely pleasant time" she once said on leaving Ireland,I recon if she had visited The Towers she would not have left in a hurry. Queen Victoria would have liked it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! This hotel is spacious and gracious, a place fit for Royalty. Finally I cannot conclude my review without again mentioning the friendly and cordial staff , I can only recall the name of one Adrienne, but in her approach it typifies the feeling you get throughout your stay. ON leaving they ask "Would you stay again" the answer is a resounding YES. Collapse

Location is perfect; very central. It's only 10 mins walk to the outlet centre where the bus and train stations are. Staff are very helpful. They don't have a parking area, but there's a public parking directly across the hotel and they refund the parking fee. Sunday parking is free. We had dinner included in our package. We didn't realise it was a buffet dinner which was a good surprise. There was a good selection in the menu. The chef is very accommodating of our requests. The food was really nice. The breakfast was buffet as well and loads of selections as well. Our room is very clean and comfortable. The bathroom has jacuzzi bath. The toilet seat needs updating but nothing major. There's air conditioner in the room. Our room was at the very back of the hotel which was so perfect. It was so quiet and peaceful. The pub attached to the hotel has live music. We really enjoyed it. Their leisure centre is nice too. A really nice hotel to stay in Killarney. We will definitely stay there again. Collapse
