Just home from a fantastic 5 days & nights at the lovely Karma St Martin's. The hotel is located right on the beach with stunning views across the bay & other islands. The staff were all very friendly & accommodating and the food was fantastic - amazing cooked breakfasts to set you up for a day's exploring and fabulous evening meals to look forward to at the end of the day. The scallops with pork belly starter was so good my partner had it every night of our stay! The restaurant & bar feature great decor and the lending library in the bar has one of the best selections of books ever - many local themed & coastal/maritime themed books covering all aspects of life on & around the coast. The lower town jetty is literally right outside the hotel which was ideal for catching the boats to the other islands (although depending on the tides they may sometimes only land at the higher town quay which is a short walk from the hotel or the hotel minibus can take you). Being in October it seemed at times like we had the island to ourselves and the superb weather (t-shirts & sunshine every day of our stay) it felt like we had landed in our own island paradise. We were both very sad to leave and will definitely be back - after visiting the other islands we both agreed that we were glad to stay on St Martin's. Tresco & St Agnes were lovely but the beaches on St Martin's were easily the best. If you are looking for the perfect, relaxing Isles of Scilly experience I can't recommend staying at Karma St Martin's enough. Thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so special. Collapse

I just spent a glorious weekend with my girlfriend at the Karma resort St. Martins. From the moment we stepped onto the quay and received a wonderful greeting from the staff it was faultless. The position by the beach with the palm trees and stunning view across the sea at the surrounding islands prompted us on several occasions to comment that it was hard to believe we were still in England, such was the tropical feel. The rooms were clean, spacious and flooded with sunlight and the bar and public areas were great for an evening cocktail and meal overlooking the sea. The staff were attentive but unobtrusive, they really were first class. I will definitely be back! Collapse

We enjoyed our 5-day stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for anyone wishing to escape for a few days to enjoy the walking, the scenery, bird/seal watching and the peace and quiet. The staff were brilliant, welcoming and friendly, especially Fynn on Reception - she's a real asset! The food in the restaurant was excellent, although we found it a bit lacking in atmosphere, even when full; maybe some partitioning to create some more intimate spaces would be good. Our room (Brigantine) was well equipped and had a nice sea view, and being quite a distance from the main public areas was very quiet. However it was also pretty much out of range of the hotel Wi-Fi, so if this is an issue you might like to try and get a room nearer Reception - or just ration your surfing to the bar's happy hour! One minor niggle was the lack of comfortable seating anywhere in the hotel - the room chairs were uprights with a hard seat frame, and were only really suitable for occasional use, and even the settees in the lobby "looked better than they felt". If you like settling down with a drink for a good read you might struggle to get comfy. The hotel lay on a courtesy bus which is useful for transfers to and from the high-water port on St Martin's, but as you can walk it in about half an hour that isn't really needed if you aren't carrying luggage, and if you can use the low-water port right by the hotel that's even better. Getting around the islands is obviously a bit weather dependent, but if you can keep your plans flexible then you should still manage to see everything you want to, and the inter-island boat trips are part of the fun! All in all a great place for a relaxing break, and highly recommended. Collapse
