We went to the island of St Martins, one of the Isles of Scilly. It is small, about 2km long and and 1km wide, however the coast line is indented, so walking around the coast is longer than you might expect. There are many walking tracks, all with spectacular views. There are white sand beaches, crystal clear water and fresh air in abundance. We also saw seals and dolphins, and numerous birds. The weather was fine, but foggy at times (late Oct). We arrived on the ferry, a 3 hour trip which was great fun, but flew back to Penzance, a 20min flight. The transport to and from the main land arrives and leaves St Marys, the largest of the Isles of Scilly. Then it is a short boat ride to St Martins. Our accommodation was Karma St Martins, which is the main accommodation on the island. This was very comfortable, large rooms, great food and really friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. All in all a great experience. Collapse

Took one of our dogs on a break to the Scillies and stayed here for one night. The arrival across from St Mary's is spectacular, and we we were greeted by the manager on the quay. The hotel is right in front of you. The beach is beautiful and the waters are crystal clear. The hotel has been part modernised, our bedroom was great, overlooking the beach. The food was outstanding too, and very well priced, we had half a fresh lobster each and it was less than £15. Very dog friendly too, ours loved it and could not wait to hit the beach at every opportunity. Would definately go again. Collapse

Visited the Karma hotel on St Martins and found it to be fantastic, the service was out of this world and nothing was too much, the attention to detail was sublime. Family really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning.

I’ve been travelling to St Martin’s for many years but since the whole family and girlfriends were over this time we didn’t have enough space in the usual accommodation. I therefore stayed in the hotel for 2 nights with my wife. Overall we had a good experience. The setting is spectacular and I think all of the rooms have a good view. The bedroom was very nicely decorated but the bathroom obviously hadn’t been refurbished and was a bit scruffy which was a bit of a shame. The public areas are fine but nowhere near as nice as the Hell Bay hotel on Bryher (although I believe the rates there are about double) in my opinion. The style and décor just doesn’t fit in as well with the surroundings. We also felt that the hotel wasn’t making use of it’s great outdoor space. There were no bar staff available outside to take drinks orders and the parasols were a bit scruffy (they used to be a lot smarter under the old owners). It’s a great space with incredible views so this could be a real asset to the hotel if used properly. The staff were all very friendly and check in and out was very straight forward. They were also very helpful in moving our bags to our usual accommodation on the other side of the island. We really enjoyed the dinner in the hotel restaurant. Excellent food at very reasonable prices, particularly the lobster! The breakfast however was very disappointing and the hot food was of poor quality (more like something you’d get at a service station). Some a la carte options (like eggs cooked to order etc) would be a good addition I think. Overall it’s a nice hotel and a good place to stay to make the most of the wonderful island. Plenty that could be improved though! Collapse

Very comfortable, loving staff , great service. Front office , restaurant , housekeeping staff were very helpful to make my staff memorable one. I was also able to see the Rowing championship that was held and it was a great experience.
