We had a wonderful, but too short stay at the JW Marriott. This was our first visit to Venice, but won't be our last. We knew the villas manager, Andrea from previous visits to the Ritz Carlton in Grand Cayman where she previously worked. We received a warm welcome when we arrived from Anna and Monica. We were very pleased when they upgraded us to a wonderful suite in La Maisonette. When she was available we received a warm welcome from Andrea and she had sent Prosecco to our suite for our anniversary. All of the staff were terrific, the grounds were beautiful and we had no issue with taking the shuttle over to St. Marks square. We thought the breakfast was very good and had dinner at Sagra where Maria took good care of us. My only suggestion for Sagra is that they should have a fresh fish of the day, as some cannot eat shellfish. The entire team made us feel special, and we would definitely stay here again on our next visit. Collapse

My husband and I spent 6 amazing days at this quiet and beautiful resort on its own island in Venice. One of the best things about this hotel, and there are many, is the friendliness of the staff and the feeling that they are sincerely interested in you and your experience in their country and in their resort. We have stayed in many beautiful Marriotts in many different places and can say that this hotel had the friendliest and most helpful staff of all. I would particularly like to mention, Andreea, who served and entertained us during the most elaborate and delicious breakfast buffet we've ever seen. They served anything you could possible want - omelet station, meat and cheeses, salads, cereals, waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, cereals, nuts, fruit and even ravioli! Also, we have to mention Laura, who went into an extensive and hands on explanation for my husband who wanted to know how to make a really good cup of espresso and cappuccino! Of course there was Gabriele, who greeted and chatted with us every time we went into the hotel lobby. Thank you to Marco and Erica who laughed at our jokes (and participated in photo shoots!). Antonio, and the staff at the pool were attentive and charming! There were many other staff members who were very helpful in making our stay on of our favorites in Italy. We had dinner one night at the on -sight Michelin star restaurant. That was an experience I'm glad we didn't miss. We had a 6 course meal that was really 10 courses with all the extra gourmet food "surprises" as they called it. It was pricey, but worth the one time experience. The shuttle to the city came often and on time. Although the hotel was filled to capacity it was very serene and quiet. The view from the infinity pool on the top floor was incredible. Venice is a beautiful and amazing place with many churches, museums, stores and restaurants and of course, gondolas complete with serenade! If you get to visit, I suggest staying at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa. Collapse

Poorly maintained villa rooms, torn sheets, scuffed walls, plumbing fixtures missing from shower. Inconsistent housekeeping. Breakfast was by no means amazing or creative. Service didn't feel genuine, like the staff were simply going through the motions & definitely not worth the hefty price tag. Loved the peaceful vibe of the island and the fact we were away from the hordes of tourists in venice, but that is it. Collapse
Absolutely wonderful - away from the hustle and bustle

Carlos, Valentino, and one of the front office handsome young men definitely worth a mentioned in this review because these are the people i met and they are all excellent staff! We were lucky enough to get upgraded to one of the nicer suites because of our Platinum Status. Room are clean and spacious. Very relax environment and beautiful place. We also had dinner at the Michelin star Dopolavoro Dining and its worth every penny of the money. Food are definitely world class. In short, everything about JW Marriott Venice are great and world class hospitality. My wife and i couldn't wait to go back ! Collapse

The service and attention you receive right at check in is of the luxury sort. I also had a slight cold during my stay and the staff would remember our names and even inquired with my boyfriend when I wasn't around on how I was feeling and if they could provide me with anything. That thoughtfulness was very valued. We also took advantage of the cooking class there and the chef was a local Venetian that took a 2 hour class and transformed it into something you could actually do at home and replicate plus he sat with us as we ate each pasta dish we made. The class went overtime but it was because it was so informative and we took our time into making our very delicious dishes. Incredible service, location and beautiful rooftop views of Venice.
