I stayed for one night while attending a conference. I had assumed this hotel was near the strip and was surprised that it was about 30 minutes away. If you are coming for the Strip, this would not be the most convenient location, although a $15 Uber ride each way allowed me to head there for the evening. The upside of this hotel is that the grounds are beautiful. They are doing some construction both inside and out, but there is still enough beauty to go around. There are streams and waterfalls and lakes all around. The pool area looked nice although it was too cold to sunbathe when I was there. This is a large complex and it takes some time to walk from check-in to your room, but the walk is pleasant unless you go through the casino. I was very pleased with the room. While some parts are a bit outdated (the phone in the bathroom, gold plated reading lights), I liked that this was not just a basic hotel room. There was a large walk-in closet and an arched entryway with a large bathroom. The beds were comfy. I had one meal in the room which was excellent, though overpriced. The internet was included and worked fine. They have several restaurants in the complex ranging from Starbucks, to a casino café, a burger joint, and one or two fine dining restaurants. For me the big drawback was the casino area. The smell of smoke pervaded much of the hotel. The casino seemed to be full of locals rather than hotel guests and there was a good number of oxygen tanks and wheelchairs. The bingo parlor was quite full. In a high class hotel, this seems like a low class casino. I was not aware of any entertainment at this hotel. They did have a $30 shuttle to the airport which was convenient and cheaper than an Uber. Overall, I like the property, except for the casino, but would probably opt to stay on the strip when I return. Collapse

We have been to this hotel before whilst we were silver members and were treated very well indeed. On this occasion the check in girl was reasonably pleasant however we are now gold card members and an an upgrade is meant to be given automatically but she wouldn't do this. The planning officer of the Marriott had emailed us before our arrival to make sure everything was okay and that we had everything we wanted, we asked for a 4pm checkout and he arranged it and got back to us immediately. Also breakfast for gold members is obligatory if they do not have a club lounge (which they don't) and again she wasn't going to give it to us until my husband told her we were entitled to it and then she gave it to us. To the hotel, the grounds & gardens, golf courses and pools are all beautiful. Their restaurants leave a lot to be desired and we only ate in the first night we arrived as we were very tired. However even if their restaurants had been spectacular we would not have dined there - we are both non smokers and Marriott hotels are "Supposed" to be non smoking but the thick smell of smoke through the ground floor where all their restaurants are is dreadful, obviously this is from the casino but they should have better air conditioning/filters. We have stayed at other up market hotels on the strip and they manage admirably. I visited the spa and again choked my way through smoke to get to the entrance, spa okay but not the friendliest of places. Another point, they advertise a Starbucks but this consists of a small trolley only serving HOT coffee which is not what you want on boiling hot days. This little trolley used to be near the entrance but they have now moved it nearer the casino. Such a shame, when we stayed here several years ago they were delightful and couldn't do enough to help you. Because of having our stay here spoilt in ways I have mentioned above we will never stay here again and we were going to return in September !! Collapse

Admittedly, I came with high expectations. I used to have Platinum status and familiar with the JW quality level. The hotel is decidedly average and borderline tired looking. We had a suite, supposedly one of the best rooms. After a long flight, I decided to order room service (turkey club with fries). The bacon was burnt and the fries soggy. Not impressive. The good things: service is on par for a JW from the front desk, room service, and valet. The king size bed is firm and comfortable. The fitness center has well equipped (although also tired looking). If you're looking for some peace and quiet this might be a decent option. If you want to be closer to the action, there's plenty of options on and near the Strip. It's a 20min drive from the JW without traffic and shuttles aren't that frequent. Collapse
