We have visited the JW Marriott on several occasions and this time it seems that the hotel is very run down for a JW Marriott. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite which normally would be a great treat, we had to ask to be moved as soon as we came into our room since it was so dirty. The couch, carpet and balcony were so filthy, we were moved to another suite that was cleaner, but still not great. This is a beautiful location and it's a shame that the landscaping, pool area, carpets and even the valet service are not to the standard of a JW hotel. The lounge chairs in the pool area are dirty, the carpets in our rooms are discolored and filthy, as are the windows and balcony area. When we went to get our car at the valet, the gentleman opened the door for my husband and although I was sitting right behind him, he just walked away and didn't bother opening my door. The poor fish in the pond must be starving for oxygen since the pond is overgrown with mold. The new restaurant is great. Our server Jose was beyond helpful and the food was excellent. I spoke to Lauren, and she listened to my concerns and was kind enough to send a beautiful cheese platter and a bottle of wine to our room. Thank you Lauren. We love this resort to get away from the busy strip, but it will be hard for us to return under the current conditions and the price charged. We would gladly pay for a resort fee, but the resort is far from being one...We sat in the balcony which had four lights, the glass was dirty and only one lightbulb worked. There's no need for maintenance not to change the lightbulbs... Please Marriott, take care of this beautiful property. Trim the trees and clean the hotel. The staff is kind and attentive, but we will not be staying here are again until they start cleaning it.....Sorry. Collapse

A full service resort that's far from the strip

Billed as a resort and category 6 Marriott, this property is sorely in need repair and maintenance. The disparity in category is close to misleading. Our family stay did not start well as the a/c unit was not working, maintenance was called and they deemed the unit needing repair, however it was 9pm. Temps in Las Vegas were 118F that day and the room did not cool below 79F. The property had a number of issues- room furnishings were certainly not of a catagory 6 standard, I would say they were some of the worst Ive stayed in a Marriott property (I'm platinum), elevators, on-site restaurants, lack of care and attention to property in furnishings, upgrades, etc made this property on par with a catagory 2. The staff was generally very helpful though. The management took care of our first night stay and comped breakfast for our A/C issue. Note: The second room cooled only down to 70F, not what you would expect in Las Vegas. We experienced the casino as you need to walk through if you are going to any restaurants on the property. It was a lower end casino with a very aged customer base. Smoke was terrible (on par with other casinos) and our children's dance event in the Grand Ballroom could only be accessed through the casino. The Grand Ballrooom was equally dated- carpet, furnishings and restrooms were woefully from the 90's...restroom were fine but suspect. Bottom line- not worth even close to 30k points per night, and the gap in catagory to experience is the highest of any Marriott Ive ever stayed in. Collapse
