Jumeirah prides itself in luxury and service. While the rooms are luxurious enough, the lack of anything that could be called a lobby and the cramped nature of the entrance is anything but. The rooms are well appointed and I particularly like the placement of the AC vents which do not have the air blowing directly on the guest when asleep. The rest of the room design, however, is odd. The closet is close to the room door but the bedroom is a distance away; when preparing to head out or retire for the evening, one has to repeatedly shuttle back and forth from the bathroom to the bedroom to the closet. The bathroom light switch is on the outside of the bathroom, close to the main door of the guest room but one is more likely to use the bathroom via the sliding door from the bedroom. The rooms, it must be mentioned, have excellent sound insultation and one does not hear hallway chatter, slamming doors or the TV next door. Regarding service - front desk/reception staff need to learn to smile and truly care - not "seem" to care. When I asked which museums were open on a Sunday, the front desk person hardly looked up from her computer screen and dismissively directed me to the concierge. When checking out and the billing address was totally wrong (wrong city, state and zip), it took the young lady three tries to correct it and acted as if it were my fault that they had the wrong address. I don't think I will return to this property for these reasons. Collapse

We recently made a trip to Frankfurt as my husband was there for business. We had our 11 month old with us so I wanted to stay somewhere central so I can walk around town and also take him to the Frankfurt zoo while my husband was working. Upon arrival, as the hotel only had revolving doors in the front, we had to enter on the side where the bellman take in the luggage as we had a stroller. I find it strange that whoever the architect of this hotel was did not think to place other doors in to face the front by the main entrance. I would find this to be a fire hazard. We book a panoramic junior suite on this trip which I have to say was quite large for a European hotel. Not only was the room large, the bathroom was large. The room was sectioned into two separate areas, a living and sleeping space. What I am about to note is why I gave the hotel a two star. There was only one light switch that controlled the whole room, which is really surprising in a German hotel. What surprised me even more was the bathroom had a separate toilet vestibule and it did not have its own switch. There again was only one switch for the whole bathroom. Another bizarre thing for a German hotel. I would have thought Germans were sophisticated enough to not make this mistake. A third thing that I did not like was they had a opaque door to the bathroom which faced the bed. So if you have more than one person sharing the room, the light from the bathroom would come through the doors while others are sleeping. This is why I also think this is a hotel purely for business and not really a family friendly hotel. While we were there, there was some construction on the floor below us which we were not informed of when we checked in. I didn't know this until 8 am the next morning when I heard the drilling. When I called downstairs, the staff apologized and said they would try to find us another room as I informed them that this is very disruptive to the baby's sleep. I waited and waited and no one called to change our room. I called again and same thing was said to me and no one called back. On our last morning we ordered breakfast and our breakfast came an hour after it was supposed to and we had to rush out to head to the airport. For a hotel such as this, I did not think this was acceptable. Most hotels have your room service to you within 30 min. The location of this hotel is central and convenient for those who want to walk to the main attractions. It's also convenient for business travel. Other than that, I would not recommend it to families traveling together. Collapse

A luxury hotel, located in the center of the city. The staff is always very lovely, ready to support and help at your first request. There is a nice bar in the hotel. The design of rooms is very nice.
