...but, to give this the "class" rating it has is ridiculous. Our (my wife and I) first room - the tiny refrigerator was broken. So they showed us a room across the hall (like for the maids or something) and told us to use that. We were trying to keep our water bottles cold. That's all. So we were okay with it. That night when we came back from the Medina we tried to open to door to cool our water bottles, locked. The A/C unit was not working and opening a window was useless because this room's window opened to a courtyard so there was no circulation. A guy came to fix it and it worked! For about ten minutes. Then it started making a very loud sound and began spitting black chunks of something out of it. It spewed this stuff all over the bed and side table. When we told the staff they just moved us to a different room Nice right? It was until we realized that not 2 hours later one of our coworkers would check into the hotel and was given that very same room... The room we were given was a bit bigger and the refrigerator worked. But, alas, the A/C unit was still weak at best. The only way to keep cool was to open the windows at night. (Thank heavens it was the end of October). This room has a beautiful view of the Koutoubia. I will include a picture if I remember to before I hit submit ... Anyway, the room faces Southwest so it gets blasted with the sun around 11 am. Then you can forget about any kind of ridiculous cooling the little air conditioner does. So we just make sure to be out of the room until after 9 every night. At an rate when I told the nice lady at the check in counter about the A/C again she asked me if I wanted to change rooms. I was certain at this point that it would make no difference and so I declined. The bottom line is, and this is why I am writing a review in the first place, when I looked at the amount of stars this place got I am stunned. I would rate this a 1.5 to 2 out of 5. I just do not understand the references point these other reviewers are using. Have they never even seen an actual 4 or 5 star hotel? Even here in Marrakech? They are beautiful and amazing. This place, not so much... Collapse

I did not stay at the hotel but had 2 dinners in their restaurant which where fantastic. The restaurant is upstairs in the open air and looks at the Mosque which is beautiful when the Minerat is lit up after dark. The sunset is incredible. The food and service where of a high standard and loved the live music. I had the Royal Coucous the first visit and the Chicken and lemon tagine the next and ca recommend both. Collapse

Stayed here from the 17th - 22nd with 2 friends and chose this hotel based on reviews on tripadvisor. the location is perfect, its on the old city right next to the medina and souks so shopping is so convenient and its so lively day and night with snake charmers, markets, restaurants, folk singers and dancers among more. good police presence so you can feel safe but everyone is so friendly there. Famous katoubia mosque is right opposite and park and shopping centre with KFC and McDonalds just walking distance on the same road. pleanty of taxi's and also horse and carriage's which offer tours or just a ride to your location. they're right next to the hotel. In terms of the quality based on what i paid its actually surprisingly good value. requested a triple and got a double bed and 2 singles clean bathroom and air conditioning which felt great on the hot afternoons, also benefited from TV and a safe. the decor was mix of traditional Morocco style theme and contemporary. The food was great again you can get nice breakfast with all osrts of cakes and breads and pastrys and freshly squeezed orange juice, boiled egg, omelette among others. We had half board so evening meal was included and a great choice from tagines to pasta's, burgers and cous cous and from ice cream to creme caramels and also sheesha (not included in half board) it is a popular restaurant and open to the public we did get good service there. Ali Bader who works at the entrance explaining the menu for customers and seating them was very polite and humble and gave great advice from where to go and what we should expect to pay was very helpful and seemed to answer any questions we had even though he's only been in morroco for two years, he even offer to help on his day off. Reception staff were extremely helpful gave some great advice and generally great to talk to for advice about Morocco and always went out their way to help out especially Reman who went out her way number of times to help out and always seen her smiling and always asked how our day was. On one occasion I lost my phone during the holiday and Reman offered to help find it and even tried calling to find out my number as i had a maroc sim and didn't know the number. I've stayed in 5 star hotels before but the customer service from the staff at this hotel was very genuine and warm and friendly. Overall great location, great food, great staff so i would definitely stay here again. Defiantly exceeded my expectations. Collapse

love the location of this place! no wandering through the markets and in roads searching for your hotel! stayed here back in 2009 and came back for a visit with family and baby and I'm sure i'll be returning again! the location is great, food in the Italian restaurant is to dieee for! rooftop breakfasts are amazing, you can see the mountains in the background. staff are so so, the first time round they were so helpful but service wasn't as friendly this time round but that's okay, we didn't stay in the hotel much. loads to see and do in the area. cant wait to go back rooms are spacious, bathrooms can be abit of a scare if you haven't stayed in morocco before but its okay. a good 3* hotel.
