Friends stayed here a year or two back and we'd popped in see them, as we are on Mallorca a fair bit we decided to give the place a try for ourselves and whilst it's certainly not a bad hotel as such I just can't imagine returning. The plus points are that its quiet suburban setting is a nice contrast to busy buzzy Palma and the old town and that's it is overall an attractive hotel with clean bright spaces, where it all goes wrong here is all to do with the services and systems. The sealed and closed off pool and sun loungers until 9.30am (surely I can't be the only one who would like an early morning swim before breakfast ) is baffling and unwelcoming but far worse is the large bland breakfast room with a nice view out to a terrace and a sliding door to the outdoor seats and tables that remains steadfastly LOCKED every morning, forcing you to eat indoors, I questioned this and was told on a day where temperatures were due to reach 28 degrees that they couldn't open it in case people were cold!! Ok so once I'd finished finding the humour at that I ate my (decent enough) breakfast in an airless room. To be fair I was told it was ok to carry my own hot drinks and breakfast through RECEPTION if I wanted to eat outside. Really guys, this is about the sheer inconvenience of you clearing tables and had nothing to do with guests being accommodated. This coupled with sun bed towels and deposits for them occurring nowhere near the pool but in the spa (?!) made me feel that for all the four star facilities it has (and to be fair it does have good facilities) it's very much 2 star in terms of service and charm. Rooms were nice enough, nearly all of them Overlook a flat roof that is clean enough but no attempt at landscaping it make it a nice view, so it's not exactly pretty. It's spotlessly clean though, nice bathrooms and good showers. It's serviceable and pleasant, but an oasis of luxury and comfort? Well not for me anyway. Collapse

This hotel is of modern style with two buildings ...one high rise block and one three storey building containing executive rooms. I asked for a room with a good view in a high position, but executive rooms only go to three storeys....at no time was this explained to me, consequently our view was from the lower building looking at the higher main building,,,,and no view, so I was disappointed that despite emails from th e hotel saying my request for a room with a view was noted and would be actioned. More importantly with normal check-in from 2pm and our arrival of approximately 12 noon I asked for an early check-in,,,,,but again despite having an email saying this was noted and was ok for us, we arrived to be told our room would not be ready until 2pm.....honestly not good enough, Why tell me it would happen then let us down on arrival...be aware of this and confirm details with the hotel. However we would return to this hotel as service , staff and food were excellent. Collapse

The hotel is in a quiet area on the edge of town. It's a 10 minute walk to Santa Catalina....a cool not-so-touristy area in town where there are loads of cafe's, bars and restaurants with locals as well as tourists. Nothing much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel though. Beyond that is the old town but that's more of a 20 min walk. The spa facilities were good and the hotel staff were super helpful and positive on more than one occasion.Great pool area. Breakfast wasn't too bad but we preferred to head out for more choice. Our only criticism of the hotel was their beds & pillows. Both foam and both too hard. To be fair, the hotel went out of their way and replaced the hideous foam mattresses with 2 sprung ones but they were still rock hard. Sore necks & backs every day. Ergh. Don't get me wrong, a soft dippy mattress is my worst nightmare but similarly rock hard foam beds that have no give at all are just not comfortable. Softer mattress toppers would help.... In every other way the hotel was great so if you're not sensitive to a super hard mattress then you'll be ok. It's a nice place. Collapse
