Stayed at Intercontinental Singapore for 4 nights in Dec. Booked an Heritage Room but as an Ambassador was upgraded to an Executive Suite which was very spacious with a sleeping area and a relaxing area and included two bathrooms. I arrived at 9:00 AM and went to the front desk hoping a room was available. Staff welcomed me and quickly escorted me to Club Lounge while sending my luggage to my room. At the lounge check-in when quickly and smoothly. Breakfast was still being served but as I was a bit fatigued after a long series of flights I did not partake. The fitness centre is very well equipped and open 24/7, however as I was recovering from jet lag it was easy to go daily at 6AM. Lounge Club served a tasty breakfast and delicious evening snacks with complemental cocktails offered for the evening service. My room had a complimentary smartphone with free internet connection was available, not sure if all rooms are provided one. It had a map with search function an a local phone number which resulted in no expensive roaming charges. The hotel is very well located near downtown and next door to Bugis mrt station. One can travel from the airport to the hotel in ~40 mins for 2.30 SGD. Better yet consider purchasing a multiple day MRT pass at the airport as a 3 day one is only 30 SGD and 10 of that is returned if you give back the tourist pass. MRT office at airport opens at 8AM Collapse

Stayed at Intercontinental Singapore for 4 nights. The Club Heritage Room was very spacious with an entrance area, the room itself and the bathroom. The room was very spacious with 2 comfortable beds, a working desk, an expresso machine with complimentary capsules. The entrance had a wardrobe with a safe inside. Unfortunately there wasn't any furniture to put my luggage on so had to leave it on the floor, a bit weird for a 5 star hotel. The bathroom had a separate bathtub and a shower cabin. The fitness centre is very well equipped and open 24h. The pool is outdoor. The Club Heritage Room gave access to the Lounge Club. Breakfast could be taken either at the Lounge Club or in the restaurant on ground floor. The Lounge club served Afternoon tea in mid-afternoon, then cocktails with some apetizers in the evening. A complimentary smartphone with free internet connection was available; It was very useful to have a map, search for addresses while visiting the city. The hotel is very well located in lively Bugis area. The hotel is attached to Bugis Junction mall with Bugis mrt station below. Bugis market is opposite. Arab street is at walking distance. Collapse

We stayed here twice recently. The first time on the 10th floor and the 2nd time on the 2nd floor. First things first, compared to other hotel loyalty schemes the IHG one almost feels insulting (they clearly prioritise people who pay for the membership over those who actually earn it). One free drink and no upgrade because we partially paid with points just feels cheap but hey... The hotel looks quite grand from the photos but actually only the bottom floors have that classic "colonial style". The lobby and cafe are beautiful but everything still feels a bit shabby and faded. The room on the 10th floor in the tower block was fine in an old-school sort of way. Comfortable but nothing very special - overlooking a quite dated and bare looking pool area. The room on the 2nd floor, in what I presume is the old building, by comparision was pretty sad. Literally a 10min walk through a maze of corridors that all smelt more dank and mouldy than the last as well as including a walk across a mezzanine level of the mall... very bizarre. Particularly annoying was that they failed to mention that it was the marathon that night (the marathon in Singapore starts at 4am!) and they were running right past the window so we were woken up to the sounds of people shouting and whooping at the crack of dawn. All in all staff seemed to treat working here just like a job (apart from a lovely man on the concierge). There are so many amazing properties in Singapore that I don't understand the rankings for this one. Yes the location is handy near the mall but we found this hotel a bit of a disappointment. I think you can get more for your money than this. Collapse

After reading some of the very good reviews from the TripAdvisor pages, my family decided to check in this hotel as a mid way resting point for our long haul flight while in Singapore. We arrived on Saturday morning, we experienced some good services, especially the doorman was super nice and helpful and our check in was smooth. The location is also very good near MRT station as the reviews said and it is so easy to go downtown and Orchard. On our first day afternoon, we went for the hotel afternoon high tea at their classy lobby lounge. The service and food were decent. There was a mini live band performance, but their entertainment is so minimum, nothing too interesting or outstanding. It reminded me of my previous Singapore trip at those night bars at the riverside years ago. And i sincerely not very sure if i would also enjoy my family high tea at this five stars establishment but in this similar way with those night bars!? Well, i think we deserved better entertainment for the price we had paid. On our second day, the breakfast buffet at the restaurant had a satisfactory selection. But the seating were a bit poorly executed and the background music was cheesy and too loud to our taste. Our room was average, don't have the outstanding luxury feel. but just for a stay over for a plane transit, we didn't demand much. I can confidently say this is just a very average hotel, trying to, pretending to be better than it is. I felt a little duped and have now learned, you definitely get what you pay for in Singapore. If you want luxury, 5 star service in all areas of the hotel and atmosphere, look somewhere else. Collapse
