Booked and arrived with great expectation. Beautiful colonial style hotel. No checkin staff present when we arrived but concierge very helpful and aided us. Room was disappointing - very dark with no real view. Expected more from their Club Heritage rooms. Breakfast choice at Club lounge was very good but service was intrusive - we had barely sat down and were asked what we would like. After ordering hot food we went to obtain some cold items from the buffet - had not enough finished these when the hot food arrived. Similarly intrusive at tea. However main issues related to housekeeping - first night despite requesting a turn down service between 7-9pm when we arrived back at the hotel at 9.30pm we found that it had not been done. Bearing in mind that we had been up since the crack of dawn and were absolutely exhausted this was extremely disappointing. Housekeeping then sent a young man to undertake the turndown and whilst he was very polite he did not speak a word of English and did not understand what we wanted done. Had to call housekeeping again to get them to translate. Next day housekeeping completed the turndown as requested but it was clearly rushed as slippers were left lying randomly around the room and the toilet had not been cleaned and enough amenities left in the room. Second big issue was the bathroom - water was dangerously hot and could easily have scalded particularly as the wash basin and shower taps could not hold water at a consistent temperature - there was constant variation. For a 5 star hotel where we paid close to SGD1500 for two nights this was hugely disappointing. Expected so much more. Collapse

Our 3 night stay has just come to an end and I'd love to stay longer. I joined the IHG rewards club (for free) for a discount on the rooms. We booked Club Intercontinental rooms so that we had access to the club lounge with afternoon tea and evening cocktails. I would definitely recommend paying the extra if you can. Even without the cocktails the delicious hot and cold canopes were worth it. We had a late flight and they let us use the lounge until we left for the airport even though we had checked out. The rooms were well appointed, the beds and pillows very comfortable indeed and there was so much choice at breakfast it was almost overwhelming. The location next to Bugis Junction shopping Mall and a 5 minute walk through the mall to Bugis MRT station was very convenient. And most of all, the staff were faultless in their courtesy and helpfulness. 10 out of 10 Intercontinental, if I ever come back to Singapore I will definitely stay again. Collapse

On my recent trip to Singapore, I decided to stay at the IC Singapore. On arrival I was greeted and taken to my room where I completed my check in. I was shown around the suite and then left to settle in. I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite as I am on the IHG Ambassador Programme. The suite had a separate living area to the bedroom. I just wanted to give a ‘big thanks’ to Josiah, who looked after me from check in and make me feel very welcomed. As with the other ICs I stayed at, if you had access to the Club Lounge, you would get complimentary Breakfast, High Tea and Canapés / Cocktails. The hotel was in a great location, being next to Bugis Junction Shopping Mall and not far from Raffles (if you wanted to try the original Singapore Sling). I was satisfied with my stay, but it didn't quite feel as good as other IC hotels I stayed with, however, I am happy to stay here again and will be returning soon! Collapse

I have been wanting to stay at the Intercontinental Singapore for quite some time now after viewing photos of the newly refurbished property online, and man was I not disappointed. The hotel is extremely classy and transports you back to the olden days with Peranakan inspired tiling at the check in area. Lobby lounge was so beautiful and elegant, that exuded old time glamour. I could definitely see myself sipping afternoon tea here while having scones. My room was in the shophouse wing of the hotel so I did not require the key to access my level. Not a major issue because Singapore is quite safe anyway. The room overlooks Bugis Junction, but I could not hear anything from the busy mall at all thanks to the good soundproof-ing. The room had such a boutique feel, it did not feel like a business hotel at all. During my stay I also made several unconventional requests including refreshing my room at 1am, getting someone to purchase poker cards and getting the restaurant to deliver a crab plier. The hotel was very professional and I was impressed with the way they manage to handle all of them. On the whole, I am sold. The hardware of the entire property was beyond incredible and the staff, although sterile, got the job done. I visited the Intercontinental pre renovation and I must say they did a really good job at transforming the place. Collapse
