Intercontinental Singapore is truly the best hotel in Singapore. I love that the hotel is near many tourist hotspots, like Chinatown and Little India. Once we had arrived by car, which took 5 minutes, the Club Intercontinental Manager and her colleague had welcomed us to the hotel. After helping us with our luggage, the manager had brought us to our room to check in. The check in was very quick and she had very helpfully introduced us to the hotel. Our room was an Ambassador Suite, the second biggest room in the whole hotel. There was a hallway, a living room, study room, powder room, bedroom, walk in closet and main toilet. The hallway was grand and large. I loved the pillar designs and the colour co-ordination. I also liked that the light was bright and the lamp design. The powder room was excellent. The toilet was a bit small but it was practical and also very useful for guests. The living room is very spacious and grand. There is a dining table for 6, a chandelier, one large sofa, leg rests, 2 one seater sofas and a rollaway bed. I love that the ceiling is very tall, over 4m. The windows let in a lot of light if necessary but offers privacy from the large curtains. I also love the colour match with all the furniture and the influence of Perkanian culture. I really enjoyed using the 55 inch television, which was very new and easy to use. The main bedroom is very spacious and special. The television is very clear and easy to use. There were 2 bedside tables, one with the bible and a Buddhist book. The Handy phone was very useful and the connection was flawless. The walk in closet was very useful. The closets are spacious and can put up to 20 pieces of clothes per closet. The main bathroom is very nice. The bathtub was very good, and long enough for everyone to use without needing to bend your knees. The shower room was also very large. The hotel's club offers the best food and service. Club Intercontinental Singapore staff are all very helpful. They can help you book things and manage your room. I like the breakfast Lasi Lamak and the lime juice, as it was very special and tastes good. They offer drinks like alcohol and fresh juices. The wifi connection is very quick and worth the cost. I suggest everyone to stay in Intercontinental Singapore because it is truly the best hotel in Singapore. I would also like to give special mention to the Club Manager and Rebecca Wong for helping me throughout the stay. Collapse
Best overall hotel in Singapore, but evening cocktails need improvement

We always enjoy staying at InterContinental in Singapore. Overall service is excellent; Anna Lao, Debra, and colleagues in Club Lounge are always welcoming and making us feel at home. Nice to see new faces like Josiah who is well-trained, friendly, professional and attentive to help us. So is Julia. We noticed that both taste/quality and quantity of foods served at the Evening cocktails are declining. There are only limited selection on the table. We have to order instead. Quantity of each selection is very small as well. Unless it is improved, it is not worth of paying extra. Collapse

I'm quite surprised on the high rating intercontinental has on TripAdvisor . We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and apart from the front desk(great) - there is little to no service around the hotel. This could have well have been a 3-4 star hotel by the level of service we received . Breakfast wasn't special - you basically have to wait an eternity for eggs and the menu is quite basic . The room was quite spacious but due to the lack of natural light - it feels somewhat closed in . We usually stay at the ritz Carlton or shangrila when we visit Singapore and although those hotels are more expensive - I believe you either splurge the extra to receive fantastic service or simply move down to a 3-4 star hotel which provides more or less the same level of service for a cheaper price. All in all the hotel is in a good location but due to the lack of service and the overall feel in the room - I believe there are better options elsewhere in Singapore. Collapse

We spent 6 days in Singapore, and booked one of the regular rooms with twin bed-configuration. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy, and the hotel is in a convenient location with Bugis Junction and other shopping malls attached directly to it. You also have covered (and airconditioned) access to Bugis MRT station, which is quite nice on a steaming hot OR rainy day. Rooms are very spacious with plenty of storage space for all your belongings, and the bathrooms too. The hotel's interior is of victorian style, with beautiful details everywhere. The minibar even provided real coffee and a french press, so if you're in need of a quick and good cup of coffee you can have it in-room for free, which is very nice. All rooms come equipped with a complimentary Handy smartphone with unlimited data and local calls. We found this smartphone to be quite useless, as it was extremely slow and limited in use. We would rather prefer a Pocket-Wifi device with unlimited data, which we had in both Japan and Taiwan. Breakfast was VERY good with a huge selection of everything. They had an egg station, a noodle station AND a waffle station! Buffet-items was in general of a very high quality, so we had no problems getting full every morning. We will definitely stay here again, if we decide to visit Singapore another time. Collapse
