The rooms are awesome, the hotel is in a perfect location close enough to walk to everything in New Orleans, but also not right in the thick of things on Canal/French Quarter to be a nuisance with noise. The food at the hotel is awesome, we ate meals at both restaurants in the hotel. If you go to Trenasse you need to make sure you try one of their oyster logs, they're unbelievable; and the fresh "catch of the day" there was also amazing. Overall, this is an amazing hotel that really adds to the Nola experience. Collapse

Stayed for a wedding, good location. Front desk check in staff not very friendly. Only one family member received their welcome "check in wedding goody bag" filled with lots of wedding itinerary information, maps, sweet treats to be enjoyed, that the bride and groom had put together for the wedding guests. They were given to the rest of us at checkout! Of course we did not need them at this point! Three of the four elevators serving 15 floors were not in working order. My daughter and I walked down 11 flights of stairs after we waited more than 30 minutes for the one working elevator. Rooms need major updating. There are great hotels in New Orleans, most definitely not worth almost $900 for three nights in a basic small room! Our extended family were all disappointed by this hotel who needs to pay attention to detail. Collapse

This is a hotel. It has beds, and a bathroom, and ridiculously-priced mini bar items. It was clean. There was free wifi. There was a balcony that faced another building (this is New Orleans, not going to find a beach view here). It is located close to Bourbon and Canal if that's your thing, but far enough away that you can escape the craziness if you get worn out. Loses a star because of crowd in the hotel itself. This is a conference space, and the elevator areas can get congested. There were a number of times that we waited a long time to get to the lobby or our rooms. Collapse

We had a large wedding group at the hotel for our son's wedding in NOLA and the hotel did a super job accommodating everyone. The rooms are well appointed and very clean and comfortable. They just did a super job overall.

The hotel had everything we needed for our stay. All of the hotel staff we encountered were pleasant. The only room they had left for us was handicap accessible so it may have been more spacious than normal but it felt like a good sized room for the area. Checkout was really easy and quick. We thought the noon checkout time was generous. Valet parking was $42 a night which seemed on par with other hotels in the area. The food in Pete's for lunch was pretty good and very reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. We sampled some of their PoBoys and fries. It fell just shy of a 5 rating for a few reasons, none of which really impacted our trip but lost any 'wow' factor at the hotel. The furnishings were comfortable but showing wear. Part of the floor lamps was broken off and missing, the trash can in the bathroom was broken in half, the iron had all of it's settings rubbed completely off, stains on the ironing board. The shower was slippery which seemed to be because the anti-slip stuff on the bottom had rubbed off. The hotel bar drinks were not very good. For example, they wouldn't put any sugar in my sazerac and gave me a story about having to go somewhere that had a 'sazerac service' and that it was a big production to add the sugar... it left me really confused and with a bitter drink. We tried a few other drinks there and they were all disappointing. Another person tried to order a black russian but the bartender didn't seem to know what was in it and had to ask for help. When I tried to run down in the morning to grab a quick coffee, they were only taking cash. I couldn't tell if that was normal or something was wrong. I asked if there was another coffee shop around and none of the staff seemed to know. Another thing that was only an annoyance because of time constraints on my part. The room had really horrible lighting. I couldn't find a place that had a decent light near a mirror to put on makeup. There was a magnification mirror in the bathroom with a light but it was very dim compared to any other I've used. We parked our car and used Uber for the weekend. Almost every driver had trouble finding the entrance or tried to drop us off at a different spot even though the address is clearly visible on the front of the building. I'd suggest making sure you know where the entrance is on a map before you leave. There was a free wifi tier but it was so slow that we ended up using tethered phones for our laptops. Even though I had a good signal, basic websites like google were loading extremely slowly. It was much faster for us to use multiple devices through one iPhone using TMobile. I'm the first to admit these are all minor annoyances. But they are the type of things that make me go from "that was OK" to "that was AMAZING" when I'm traveling. Collapse
