It is daunting to begin this review, as I have so many things to say and so many thanks to give. The InterContinental made this the wedding of my dreams! From the start, Isabella and her team were a dream. Randy, Vickie and Niki showed me the hotel and got my ideas rolling for how the wedding could be.Melisa was always ready to help with reservations for my family and friends. Isabella took note of every detail and made my dreams come true! The process of planning the reception and food were made easy and fun, and the ballroom with its high ceilings and gorgeous design sold me. Their spacious suites were just what I needed for my large bridal party. The location was perfect for my guests who don't often get to visit New Orleans! Salman and Erik managed to help our guests with everything, and the staff at Trenasse was welcoming and kept the party going every night for our guests. We loved meeting there each night, and they were patient with our large, admittedly loud group. Salman was so sweet to check on us each evening, treating my mother in law to some chocolate, assisting me with a literal airline headache and late checkout. Isabella and Katelyn and Brian went above and beyond at every turn. They made sure my husband and I were pampered, and made things happen that we didn't even know we would need! Not only did they arrange a private meal for us before the reception, but they packaged everything up for us in the blink of an eye so that nothing would be missing for us when we got back to our suite. Katelyn bustled my dress for me, too! Isabella even took a photo for us and put it in our room with a note, king cake, grilled cheese, snacks, and Italian soda- themed for our honeymoon! She took polaroids of all of our guests, and communicated with all of my vendors for me, and set up our reception decor. There are NO words to describe how great she is. Housekeeping did a great job with the daunting task of cleaning up after a huge bridal party too. Dawn Pembo in Sales was also so kind to wish me a happy wedding day, and I've already booked to come back in April! If you're looking for a place to spend time with your family and celebrate a wedding, look no further. THIS IS IT! There are a thousand things I could share about how wonderful it was. Collapse

Hotel is perfectly passable as a base for exploring the city, the rooms are basic but fine for a couple of nights. However, if you need to research where you're going (restaurants, attractions) using wifi, best to try somewhere else. Intercontinental seem to have a policy in this hotel of giving guests free wifi that is so slow as to be of absolutely no practical use. Obviously designed to get you to buy the premium service but when I complained and was given the premium login details, it didn't work any faster and kept dropping off. Devices just wouldn't log in, iPad, laptop, iPhone. Tech support couldn't have been less interested and were effectively useless. For 4 days we had to go to a nearby Starbucks to use their wifi, proving that it was a tech issue at the hotel as our devices logged on there with no problem. The management seemed unable to resolve it despite being asked several times When I checked out and was asked if there were any problems with our stay, I raised it only for the receptionist said "I can't fix that but I can wish you a safe flight home"! Not sure what the point of asking the question at that point was as anything that hadn't been right with the stay would have been in the past tense and would have received the same response. A small reduction in the room cost might have been a better response than her robotic and meaningless best wishes for a safe journey. So if you don't need wifi it's OK here. If you do, go stay somewhere else until the hotel invests appropriately to let their guests access what is nowadays a pretty basic requirement. Collapse

Stayed here for the first time after previously staying across the street at the Hilton. The location is very convenient, you're in the CBD away from the craziness of the French Quarter, but if you walk about 4 blocks, you'll be right in the thick of it. Our 11th floor king bed room was nice, and the bed was comfortable though we didn't spend very much time in the room as we were busy seeing the sights. Breakfast buffet was provided for Intercontinental Ambassadors in Petes Restaurant in the hotel and was of decent enough quality. My only real complaint was the hallway on the 11th floor often smelled of marijuana, I guessing it might be legal in Louisiana although I thought all rooms were nonsmoking. Thankfully I couldn't smell it in the room itself. Collapse
