This is was my first stay at InterContinental Marine Drive, my stay comprised for both leisure and work. The assigned room to me commanded a beautiful view of Marine drive, I could spend hours and hours watching the horizon getting lost in my thoughts. The furnishing arrangements well catered to my comfort requirement, I just loved doing my work at the desk. I was mostly satisfied with the entire service and experience. Given the Hotel's earned class, my level of expectation from the Hotel was even higher (the bar raised), and hence my eye for detail and precision as well. I realized that I booked my room for 2 occupants but it appeared it was ill-equipped - toiletries and bathrobe equipped for one only. Secondly, it was kind of eye sore after detecting a obsolete refrigerator being utilized for the mini bar. I guess the cost saving bugs bites everyone including a luxury tagged hotel. The hotel lacks parking area, valet facility is provide wherein arrangement is made to park the car in the roadside The hotel owns no liability, parking is at owner's risk; its very well inscribed in the valet ticket. Dome Bar at the roof top of the Hotel was a reviving experience - very good view from top. Though it covers all the liquids well but i feel lacked spread of the meal course. Next morning the breakfast at the Restaurant at 1st floor was just amazing, it covered the spread of my ideal breakfast - I just loved it. My one night stay would be definitely memorable specially the Queens necklace view from my room. I may choose to have the experience again but not before trying out other options like Hilton and Oberoi, which are located in the same area. Collapse

While sitting on my bed on a Saturday night, I'm wondering if the thumping disco noise is coming from the bar 4 floors above me or four floors below me. I should have ask the selfie-focused teenagers who shared the elevator with me-- and I use that word "share" very loosely. Note to management: please pay attention to the needs of your guests. The long line could have been eliminated had most of the teen-boopers use the short flight of stairs to get to the first floor disco. Either way, I will have to escape to the loud streets to find peace because it wasnt happening in my room. Literally, my dresser is vibrating from the thumping noise 4-5 floors above me. So many things about this place make it a 3-star hotel. The pictures dont do it justice....in a bad kind of way. Everything in this place looks worn and dirty. I thought maybe it's because everything is either wood or marble/stainless steel which shows every stain and spill, but I just got back from the St.Regis and that place was spotless with similar build material. Other warnings: being lied to about free high-speed internet. True internet access we are accustomed to in 2017 will cost you 100 USD over a 4 day period. Unbelievable. For that reason alone, go elsewhere. If that doesnt stop you, how about the 7 tiny undercooked cheese tortellini with horrible "pesto sauce" I was made to pay 50 dollars for while waiting for a room to be cleaned upon arrival. I had reserved a non-smoking room, and they felt put out that I wouldn't accept a smoking room. Do not get your money exchanged here. They will steal more money from you. Don't trust the doorman to do their job. They are busy talking. They will get you a cab and quote you a rate the cab driver will inflate by double. Be smart. Buy your room online. Do not call or show up asking for a quote. They will charge you much more and lie about the cheaper published rate on their site. I could go on, but I have a headache from the noise. It's 1130 pm and the teenagers in the room next to me are back to apply more make-up. I just heard someone screaming (I hope she is ok.) This place is a mess. I switched rooms from the Orberie to save a few dollars. Despite the smaller rooms, its a better choice at double the price. Im regretting the move. Do yourself a favor-- be smart and spend an extra 40 dollars and stay at a true 5-star hotel like the St. Regis or Four Seasons. THis place is horrible. I wonder about the authenticity of the reviews. Collapse

I'm staying in the IC Mumbai after a planned trip went to pot and I decided I wanted a comfortable stay. Thats what I'm getting here. This hotel is well located on Marine drive in Southern Mumbai. I'm here in September, and it is very hot, so I'm not inclined to walk much. However, disatance wise, it's walking distance to Victoria Terminus, the great history museum (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, abbreviated CSMVS), the gateway of India, etc. Its right on Marine drive, with a great view of the crescent shaped harbor known as the Queens Necklace. I used Uber to get here from the airport, a journey of 40-50 minutes, which cost under 10 bucks. I've also used Uber to get around to save sweat time given the heat and humidity present now. The staff is quite excellent. After a day, they remember me, and I'm greeted by name often. As an IHG Spire Ambassador member I was upgraded to a corner suite with a nice sea view. I have seen into some other rooms though while walking around, and they are very refined as well. Breakfast is a great spread, with an egg station on the buffet, some meats, cheeses, and pastry. With my room rate I get breakfast, and it includes the buffet as well as a menu to order from, all included. Thus far I've eaten from the Long/Short restaurant which was very good, with some inventive dishes. A friend was staying uptown at the Four Seasons, and I visited for one breakfast. The lobby is a bit more refined there, for a 50-100% increase in price over what I'm paying. The breakfast there was less extensive on the buffet, though I think for extra $$ you could also order off menu. For my $$, I'd take the breakfast here at the IC. Few downsides. I have not yet seen anyone at the concierge desk. The Reception desk folks speak excellent English, and have been able to give me suggestions, so this doesn't bother me as I'm mostly an online researcher anyway. However, if you use a concierge heavily, this might be trouble. The hotel has these nifty touch sensitive lightswithces which violate my pet peeve about having to hunt around and learn new technology every time I want to turn off a light. Not at all unique to IHG or this IC property; thats a widespread annoying trend. Next time in Mumbai I'll be back. Collapse
