Standard Intercontinental Hotel by design and room layout. However, on a recent stay, I had: 1. Locked AC. Thermostat was not working. The room was cold (better than too hot, I guess) and wasn't uncomfortable, but there were moments I wished I could change the temp. By the way, the thermostat was there and allowed for changing temp. But nothing happened. 2. Very weak internet signal in the room. No signal at the desk. I tried multiple devices, same result. 3. Whenever I wanted to eat, the restaurants were closed. Too late for breakfast. Too early for lunch. Then again, too early for dinner. Room service was always available and they had a bar with sandwiches/burgers open, but I found the times for meals too restrictive. Overall, a three-star experience at best. Not what one would expect from a hotel trying to be five-star. Collapse

I've stayed in many Intercontinental hotels and this is one of my favorites. The staff is happy and that makes things easy for the customer (of course there is the occasional exception). The hotel is well situated with stunning views over Lisbon and easy access to the city tour buses. There is a convenience store nearby . All in all, a happy hotel. Highly recommended. Collapse
Not InterConti standart - the former name "Tiara Park" says it all

The Hotel is located a bit "off" the main attractions of the city, but still within easy reach and walking distance. So whether there for business or leisure the location is quite alright, while not exceptionally good. Unfortunately the decor and standard of the place look very 80's: dark (worn) burlwood, beige carpets (with an interesting, dated smell and stains), golden accents and very small bathrooms. So generally a VERY outdated appearance that also the primitive soft touch-ups (putting a grey wallpaper behind the bed doesn't make it any better!) can't compensate for. If you like sleek, modern design you will be disappointed. But I guess taste is different with everybody - if you like retro and the 80s you might just as well love it. On the plus site: the Club Lounge has obviously been renovated and looks fabulous. Staff there is also very friendly. Unfortunately the service elsewhere fell significantly short of my expectations. The breakfast buffet in the main restaurant (which I assume is only temporary?) was in what felt like a meeting room with roll-in Buffett tables. Dining tables scattered around it, that were heavily stained from generations of glasses that rested on them and damaged the wood. I first thought that they forgot to clean the tables, but no ... its just damaged and disgusting looking wood. Choice of breakfast items extremely mediocre and one has to order eggs with the staff. (No life cooking station available, clearly that is hardly 5 star standard in the year 2017). The order was - in my case - carried out incorrectly as I had ordered scrambled eggs wich fresh chili ... only scrambled eggs, no chill arrived. Upon asking the waitress if there were chilis in there (I didn't want to be rude and took a friendly approach to pointing out the error) she took the eggs back, and immediately returned with them "yes, yes ... chili inside". Very obviously there were none, so I let them go back a second time with a friendly "oh - its ok ... don't worry about it". . 10 mins later she re-appeared with the right order. Why in the world did she not just admit the mistake and bring the right ones in the first place? The chili may have been fresh, by the way; the eggs were not. YUCK. The list continues: at 3:30 pm the room still wasn't made up. I called front desk... "we can do it now"... That's super nice of you guys, thanks so much, but now I actually want to use the room. So I guess no make up of the room today. Nobody ever apologized. Mini-Bar is another topic of its own. I am very much so aware that prices in the mini bar are never a bargain. But what they do here is insane. Take prices of the minibar of the InterContinental London Park Lane, or Dubai, or San Francisco. Then double them and add a bit more. That's what you pay for items here. Seriously guys ... this is Lisbon and a mediocre hotel. Not end of the line in a truly global city. Shame on you! That's a rip-off. It's more than factor 10 of what street prices for the items really are. So overall the place is not a total disaster, but I would absolutely not return. High prices for the accommodation, outdated design and a very "don't care" service attitude come together. Should have stayed a "Tiara" Hotel, I guess. Collapse

Stayed at this hotel for a recent business trip. Staff were very professional and attentive to our needs. Our room was spacious, clean and beautiful. We received a very warm welcome when we arrived and the check-in was easy. The only reason I did not give this hotel a 5th star is that it deducted incidental costs from my credit card without my knowledge. While I know this is a practice when you stay in hotels, I think it is only basic courtesy to tell your guests that you are deducting money from their credit cards, especially in this day and age where cyber-crime is so prevalent. Great hotel, super rooms, lovey staff, wonderful breakfasts and excellent evening meal on night of arrival. The only two things to point out is that this hotel doesn't have a swimming pool and that the mini bar prices are high. As with all hotels of this quality it's the staff that make the difference and here it most certainly did. We couldn't have been better looked after. We would be more than happy to go back there again. Collapse
