We stayed one night in a room in the 27th floor. And would come back. 1. Room: + huge and cosy bed + welcome presents: teddybear, dried pineapple, fruit plate + excellent coffee and bathroom fascilities + super clean + highspeed internet + newspaper in the morning + late check out at 4 PM + room service was very fast 2. Service and staff: + brilliant service in the beautiful clublounge + friendly concierge who reserved seats in an always fully booked italian restaurant within 5 minutes + breakfast buffett (international) My husband was a bit irritated at breakfast that the waiter served him first with coffee instead of the ladies. - spa wasn't available after 9 PM 3. Location: + good location in the centre + many restaurants and shopping malls in walking distance Collapse

Perhaps it's not a good idea to compare star ratings across countries. I found this 5 star hotel to be quite inferior to similar properties in Dubai which is the ultimate 5 star comparison. The hotel lifts say it opened in 2011 so in 6 years it does look quite dated and old which is surprising. The rooms are comfortable and on the smaller side despite my upgrade. The bathrooms had some mould in the shower recesses and sinks. Room service food was very average and for a guest who enjoys Malaysian local food very few choices... Total of 6 items in 6 pages which is a shame. Even the local food is much poorer in taste compared to local food outlets. On the positive side the staff are attentive and friendly. Location is also very central and walking distance to klcc Collapse

Everything else was nice, good location, just stay away from the Japanese restaurant. Collapse

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was adequately clean but not completely dust free. the breakfast buffet was good, but we expected much better quality. Room service food quality was good, but it took almost 2 hours to get our order because they were "busy" (1am). Still inexcusable. You're the intercontinental and should be able to handle a late night meal in less than 2 hours, huge fail here. Collapse

Stayed here on single and multinight stays, midweek and weekends over last 18months. If you also have IHG Ambassador status, you won't be disapointed here. Loved every stay and can not wait to return even if on a rushed overnight KUL airport transfer. Always a pleasant stay, easy access from KL airport, a fixed rate 70MYR taxi takes 45minutes, so much easier and quicker than taking train Airport-KLCC station, exitting and waitig/getting a 20min taxi ride onwards to IC KL. Return standard street taxi circa 1000MYR, although concierge can book same 70MYR taxi upto 4pm day before. For the 30myr extra, I much prefer flexibility on my departure time. All the staff are freat, concierge, checkin, lounge, barstaff, restaurant waitresses and b/f station chef. Nothing too much trouble, definitely 5* staff. As Royal Ambassador checkedin/checked out both at grounmdfloor and the lounge. One needs keycard to operate lifts to get to clublounge for lounge checkin but staff automatically escort guests. Only stayed in two room types... o Club Room .... + comfy King Bed + Pillows, work desk+chair, large TV with plenty of channels, good windows, plenty of daylight, good curtains for sleeping. + nice bathroom, though the run of the mill IC toiletries + minibar, very poor, 2 beers, 4 min-spirits , some water (Lounge sent me some extra beers foc on request) o Ambassador Suite (have two of the three) + Proper luxury suite, with large entryway, leading to both kitchenette area with fridge+sink and to leading to living room. 2/5ths space to large 8seater dining table+chairs, rest to large sofa, two armchairs, coffee table and large flatscreen TV. Plenty of channel choices. + IC KL had just started gradual room-by-room refurbishment before my first stay, so Ambassador suite absolutely mint condition, not a mark on anything. o Next Suite Room's + Off Living room is lageish bedroom with TV, table+chair, minibar unit, doors to large walkin luggage+clothes room and to bathroom (in fact clothes room has door to bathroom too). Nice large bathroom, his n hers sinks, large bath, separate shower and toilet cubicles. Same standard IC toiletries again in the suite. + minibar, very poor, 2 beers, 4 min-spirits , some water (Lounge sent me some extra beers foc on request) + Kitchenette fridge also had same drinks as bedrooms minibar o Lounge + well staffed, open plan with upstairs balcony area too, plus lounge checkin desk for those having lounge access + good breakfast choices, though lounge allowed foc option of restaurant b/f too + afternoon tea time + evening food+drinks time. While I drank the beers, I found the wine not that great so stuck to beers + Interestingly evenng nibbles has a chef station where they cook for you some intersting "nibble/food" of the day which constantly changed each day. o general + wifi easy to use and fast + very large modern open ground flor area for guest use, along with restaurant, concierge desk, checkin desk, bellboys desk etc. + 1st floor level has what I'd call a pub bar. Had a nice time in the bar on a few evenings To give you a feeling of how willing I am to stay here, I had 3 1night airport transfers, landing 7pm, departing 8am, which meant taxi to/from IC KL, only at hotel 2030-0500, missing breakfast as hotel to airport taxi 5am, and still though my stays worth it, compared to avoiding a 2-way taxi trips, 1hour less sleep, taxi costs , and still thought it worthwhile. Maybe my perception is coloured as I found KLCC roomrates much lower than in Europe, and in Europe with much costlier 55* hotels, costlier taxis to/from airport, I would for a 21:00-05:00 stay, used an airport located hotel. That said if IC KUL was not so good, then I'd also have stayed at an airport hotel in KL on my overnight transfers Collapse
