This hotel is located in the mainland portion of Hong Kong, on the Kowloon waterfront, just north, and across Victoria Harbor, from Hong Kong Island. It is about 35 km (~20 miles) from Hong Kong International Airport. It's about a 40 minute drive from the airport, but can be a little quicker, or much slower, depending on how heavy traffic is. When you book these rooms, make sure you ask for a "Harbor View Room". I was there for a conference at the hotel and was impressed by the many top-class offerings. The rooms are well appointed - Comfortable king-sized bed, flat screen TV with access to Chinese, English, and other language TV station, including sports channels, movie channels (HBO, Movie Channel, etc.), etc. It has a nice work desk with lots of outlets and USB ports. They provide one adapter plug that can convert European and America plugs to Chinese outlets. Bring your own for more versatility. The room also has a fridge which s stocked with minibar drinks, but I was able to squeeze a couple of bottles of water of my own in there. The bathroom was very nice with a private toilet with door, a wide counter / sink and a very nice shower with a regular shower head and another head on a hose. If you do not want to be disturbed, they do not have the usual do not disturb sign that is hung on the door knob. Instead, they have a button near the light switch by the door that one presses and a red, do not disturb light turns on just outside the door. The fitness room is very large for a hotel room. They have lots of cario machines (ellipticals, treadmills, recumbent bikes, regular stationary bikes, rowing machines, etc.). They also have Nautilus-type machines, dumbbells and benches, mats, etc. They also have an outdoor pool and hot tub. The fitness center also has a bathroom with shower where one can get changed, if they prefer. The lobby area is quite expansive with gorgeous views of Victoria Harbor from its lounge area where one can have drinks, snacks and take in an enjoyable view. A good spot for meetings and for family to enjoy a nice afternoon or evening. Below the lobby is the hotel's restaurant which also has the same pretty views of the Harbor. I was only there for breakfast and can attest that service is spot-on and the buffet very ,very large with traditional Euro / American breakfast choices (ie, pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, omelets, etc.) as well as some very good Chinese and Asian dishes and lots of fruit and fruit juices and smoothies. If you are there for breakfast, I strongly recommend you pay for the buffet. The second floor is where the conference center is located as well as another bar/restaurant which I did not try. There is also a separate meeting room area where one can order coffee, tea and snacks, and have a nice, quiet meeting. All in all, I was pleased with the hotel's amenities, the very good service and comfortable room, lobby area and restaurant. I would definitely consider staying here again when I come back. Collapse

Stayed in Nov 2017 for a 3 night long weekend in Hong Kong and simply put the whole stay from start to finish was excellent and the service was exceptional. From the start being greeted at the airport and transferred to the hotel, to the finish of check out on a very busy Sunday to hotel staff helping with bags at the airport and escorting us to the security gate we couldn't have asked for more. All staff were supremely friendly, courteous and helpful and made the stay even better. Our room was again superb, whilst we had booked an Executive Suite we were upgraded to a Deluxe Suite. Excellent views over the harbour, plenty of space to relax and very comfortable stay. Couple all this with top quality restaurants available in the hotel and it was a very, very good stay. As always, wouldnt be a balanced review if there wasnt some constructive feedback...! Firstly, there are no sockets next to the master bed to be able to charge anything overnight - minor I know, but was frustrating. Secondly, the lights for the main bathroom were either all on, or all off. Would have been good to have more options. That's about it, we will definitely be staying here again on our next trip. The area around the hotel is undergoing massive construction projects and when they are done, it may change the nature of the hotel (for example, the pool deck is now pretty much blocked in by a huge new building under construction - it isn't going to be that great a place to hang out in the future). That said, you are right near bus and subway lines - as well as the ferry - so using public transportation is a breeze. If you have a room looking towards Hong Kong Island, you could sit all day and watch the boats, etc. We upgraded to the club floor and the breakfast and dinner services were amazing. The staff are great and the spa/massage was one of the best I've experienced. Collapse

Located in a convenient spot in Tsim Sha Tsui, this waterfront-facing classic hotel offered a luxurious experience. The hotel was well-staffed and provided first-class service. Our room was spacious and had a great view. I especially enjoyed chilling next to the pool. The poolside beds were extremely comfortable and provided a good place to nap. The lunch and dinner buffets there were also excellent with a wide selection of quality food. The view during the dinner buffet was especially stunning. Collapse

INTERCONTINENTAL HONG KONG My wife and I recently returned from our second trip to Hong Kong. After our first trip to Hong Kong we were wondering whether or not this amazing city would have the same impact on us as it did on our previous trip. I am delighted to say that we are even more in awe of this incredible city than ever. We once again stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel and I must confess it was a significant part of our revitalized enjoyment of Hong Kong. The minute we were picked up from the Hong Kong airport by a limousine from the Intercontinental Hotel, we knew our holiday had begun. This is a wonderful service that should be experienced by everyone. It certainly takes the angst out of any trip from an airport to a hotel after a long flight. We were greeted at the entry doors to the Hotel and were taken directly to our room by a delightful young lady who pointed out the features of the room whilst completing our check in, marvelous. From there, we very quickly relaxed into the amdient atmosphere of the Hotel and the routine of life quickly became blurred and forgotten. We are not people of any significant standing and yet the Hotel staff, from, the managers to the housekeeping staff and everyone in between made us feel very special. It did not matter where in the Hotel you were, or which staff member you came across, all of the Hotel staff were friendly, helpful, courteous, always had a smile and were a pleasure to meet. It was a beautiful experience and one you wish you could enjoy everywhere you stayed, but alas, this is not always the case. At this point I must say that the Lobby Lounge is sensational, not just because of its view across Victoria Harbour to Central, which is stunning in itself, but for the relaxed atmosphere generated by the wonderful staff members, the general setting and the live music. I pause here to make special mention of Mi, the Manageress of the Lobby Lounge, as she, in particular, was amazing, she was an absolute delight to converse with and nothing escaped her eye for detail, service and efficiency. She was fantastic. The Hotel at the time of our stay was full, there were weddings, seminars and tourist alike and yet the Hotel continuously appeared to operate seamlessly. We enjoyed a club room with incredible views across Victoria Habour absolutely spectacular by night, no need to draw the curtains, I mean, why would you want to miss out on that vista at 1 o’clock in the morning. We also enjoyed the wonderful service and facility of the Intercontinental Club. The staff associated with this section of the Hotel were impeccable and once again a delight to have around. The same can be said for the staff servicing the pool area they were equally efficient and attentive. The last time we stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel in Hong Kong I wrote what I thought was a fair description of our stay, this time my response is the same. My wife and I are already planning our next trip back to Hong Kong, the main driving force behind this decision is our absolute conviction to stay at this fantastic Hotel once again. It was the most relaxing holiday we have enjoyed together for many, many years. Thank you Intercontinental and staff. Collapse
