I have been visiting the InterContinental Cannes a few times now and it has always been a pleasure. During my last stays on June 24th (68223951) and July 14th (68350299) This summer I got to know Maria, working at the front desk, who takes great care of her guest and is always there for recommendations are a small talk while escorting myself to the suite. Speaking of which, the suites at the InterContinental Carlton Cannes are specious, bright and marvelous. The baths can sometimes be a little small, but being just in front of the ocean with full sea views I don't bother, especially since the hotel is in a historic building, which can't be compared to newly built hotels. Cocktails in the evening and breakfast in the morning on the sunny terrace are also a welcomed treat and always an incredible pleasure. I am looking forward to return back for short weekend breaks during summertime. As Spire Ambassador I am always treated to the highest standards. Glad to be back on August 20th and September 6th. We were booked into this hotel by Avalon Waterways as part of our cruise package. There is no way we could have afforded it otherwise. The Milos Forman Suite and the Nicholas Cage Suite were on our floor. Our room was small but adequate for one night. The only view from the room was of other rooms at the back of the hotel. It was quite comfortable. The pluses: convenient to the cinema attractions; a beautiful private beach across the street from the building; and the most marvelous breakfast buffet and beautiful outdoor patio on which to eat it. The negatives: $$$$$ and €€€€. The above mentioned breakfast costs €46. A friend paid €13 for a cup of coffee. Collapse
Beautiful views overpriced and over worked staff

Every year I go to France for the film festival in this year was no different I was there and had the pleasure of staying with my friend at the Carlton hotel. The luxurious hotel on the Croisette over looks the ocean. The room was very small a bed, a side table mini bar and small balcony, no room for moving around the bed. Or to store my luggage. I found the décor nice but old fashioned and a need for an update. The Oceanside was absolutely amazing, so we kept the door open during the day to get the breeze, however the nighttime activities were loud and lasted all night. The noise was too much. Closing the door and window drapes is not enough to drown out the nighttime activities. It’s hard to sleep and get silence. I must say every hotel that is on the ocean of the French Riviera has a beach outlet with nighttime activities and especially during the festival there is a party every night The gorgeous view during the day vs. nighttime activities keeping you awake doesn't help the price. Its very expensive for what you get during the festival. Not during the festival. I don’t know. The food was mediocre they just can't do any better. French food always looks pretty but in my opinion it never tastes as great as it looks. The bar overcrowded overpriced for tea. My tea was $14. Sometimes the service can be impeccable, at the bar I was having very nice service, but when you order room service or need something immediate in your room, it can be slow or often forgetful. I have not had amazing service or food at the Carlton, and I go every year. The restaurant has great views and even sunshine if you like, but I did not like the food. The beach part is called Nikki beach. And it was a meat market and people smoke in the restaurant, I don’t understand eating and smoking. I know the beach air could clear it all out, but under the tent or in the restaurant, the smoke is unbearable. There was no place to escape. So our group left. I’m sure this restaurant would improve when not at the festival time, however, you can tell that this was not a good example for what they might be able to do. Collapse

The Intercontinental Carlton Cannes is centrally located with a beach in front, and the town center behind; with the train station and ferry both about a 10 minute walk. Checkin, concierge, room service and the Carlton Beach Restaurant were all outstanding. Bellhops, doormen, and/or valet need to be more alert and service oriented, as they are the first people guests usually come into contact with. I had to carry my own bags up the stairs, in addition to this I watched a family carry their loved one in a wheel chair down the stairs as a group of workers stood in the corner chatting..no one offered to help. Rooms are spacious, quiet, and comfortable, they would benefit from additional trash bins in the toilet room, and additional outlets in the bathroom. I did love the @Nespresso machine, stacked mini fridge and soft robes :) Furthermore I feel it would be beneficial to offer hotel guests or IHG members additional services such as private beach showers or discounted lounge shares at the beach, free happy hour cocktail / welcome drink, etc. Collapse

We stayed here because we had IHG points and I used my ambassador status to upgrade to a balcony room. I loved the history and glamour of the place. They were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed watching the people, cars, glamour and even saw a celebrity. However, we cut our trip a day short to spend an extra day in the French countryside. All the overpriced shops, crowds and the incredible flaunting of wealth just made me a little ill. This is not a slam on the hotel, it was not the France I love. Collapse
