The people are very nice and service is okay. The hotel’s condition is a bit dated; rooms are ‘tired’ and can stand a re-fresh. My biggest complaint is that they have no heating in the rooms, only cooling. While this may be okay in Cairo - most of the time - it wasn’t this past week. I get some perks as an IHG Gold Ambassador, but I’ll skip that and stay elsewhere if I do not see some property improvements. Collapse

The Indian Restaurant was amazing, Massimo Bernardi did an amazing job designing, interacting, and all in all fulfilling the restaurant with great Indian taste! The Staff was really very formal, kind, and respectful. I'd like to point out one staff member who was at the line of excellence at service, I asked for his name and he said it was "Sami Mohamed", he was really brilliant, kind, and very thoughtful for the choices of our meal. He took the service to another extent! So I would really like to thank him and as well the rest of the staff! The Indian Restaurant is amazing, the Hotel is amazing, and hereby I give it a rating 5 stars! Collapse

The hotel is well located, quite big and busy. The rooms are clean and i greet the staff for being able to handle such a large amount of guests continuously. Had pizza in the Italian restaurant and an open buffet dinner in the restaurant where they hold the breakfast. Prices are awsome (thanks to the exchange rate) and the food is good. I’ve seen more impressive breakfasts before in other intercontinental hotels. My only issue was the late check in as the room wasn’t ready, but I kind of understand this due to the large number of guests. Not to forget that the security is very tight and the staff is extremely smiley. Collapse

We are Intercontinental Gold Ambassador members for over 4 years. Quite frankly I’m beginning to think that membership to this chain isn’t worth it, especially when staying at their international properties. We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights last week. Let’s highlight the good things first: - it is centrally located in city center of Cairo. Some of the tourist sites are easily accessible by foot - beautiful view of the Nile if your room is facing that direction - cheap buffet breakfast (by $ standards) - Sabaya and Bird Cage restaurants, in the property, are excellent - housekeeping does a thorough cleaning - decent security screening CON - the staff needs training in how to greet and treat guests properly. Eye contact and simple greetings can go a long way - this is a smoking property. So good luck with that - the property is in dire need of a renovation. I’m surprised they started with the gym and pool reno instead of the rooms - the entire lobby allows smoking. So this asthmatic had issues all week - non smoking floors are hard to come by so make your needs known ASAP - our key stopped working on a daily basis and it became annoying after the third day - our room was old and falling apart. The wallpaper was coming off, the outlets were popping off the wall, the carpet was two different colors, burn stains on the sheets - small bathroom - is it so hard to get rid of calcium deposits from the shower heads? - tubs are narrow and the ceilings are short What bothered me the most was an incident when we wanted to take a taxi to a restaurant less than 2 miles away. Uber quoted us at 20EGP. The bellman, when asked, how much it would cost via a taxi waiting at the property, said he didn’t know what the amount will be. Really? A bellman has no idea what the price range for a taxi should be? He suggested a taxi who wanted to charge us 150EGP! Lol. I guess they get a commission from the drivers. Seriously though, they don’t advocate for the guests. Stay in another property if you’re visiting Cairo. The Ritz Carlton and the Four Seasons are better options and in the same price range. We chose this hotel because of our chain status but quite frankly it was a mistake. Collapse

I and my family have enjoyed the stay with all the excellent treatment provided by Guest Relation Team, Room services, and kitchen and food provision staff. Appreciate all the individuals who made our stay joyful and easy (Nermine Nabil, Nardeen Nayer, Hassan Mohamed and Ahmed of the Room cleaning) All the staff of the Hotel have jointly made us feel home. It was really very nice and relaxed stay. I will pass this appreciation as a recommendation to enjoy similar stay in Egypt to all the friends and families who are living in Houston, Texas, USA.
