Rooms were slightly tired, but impeccably clean. Staff mainly very attentivand helpful, with one notable exception. Location perfect, opposite La Comédie. Gordan Ramsay brasserie and of course the Pressoir d'Argent were a highlight.

I’ve been to Bordeaux on many occasions but on golfing trips, so this was my first real opportunity to explore the city. I took my wife and we were able to secure an excellent price via Voyage Prive for a few nights at the Grand. I did pay a little more for a room upgrade. The room was extremely well kept with a large bath and a separate “waterfall” shower. Our deal included the excellent breakfast. All staff were quietly attentive and never intrusive. Excellent training. I can’t comment on the hotel restaurants for dinner. We ate out and experienced some great food at reasonable prices. We will return and try at least one of them. I have stayed at many 5* hotels and this experience ranked highly among them. Next Voyage Prive deal please! Collapse

Myself and group of friends stayed at the InterContinental a couple of weeks ago as part of one of my friend's 50th birthday celebrations and our stay didn't disappoint. We had dinner in Le Pressoir d'Argent Gordon Ramsey which was a wonderful experience - beautiful, delicious food with friendly and entertaining waiting staff. We were also given the treat of visiting the kitchen and meeting the chef and I think was an experience that none of us will be forgetting in a hurry. The breakfast that we had on the Sunday morning was also quite something. Loved the location of the hotel and I - for one - thoroughly enjoyed being able to shake the cobwebs away by going for a run along the river. Collapse
Hotel staff excellent, hotel style a bit old.

We spent 3 nights there and we had a room change after being awakened at 6:30 am by some cleaning happening right above our bedroom. On the second day we got another room and no problem with noise. Style of rooms is old and it is always dark inside, we had to ask for an extra light to feel good in the room. Room service, concierge, cleaning, reception, breakfast, all services were excellent, great attention. We looked at the TV once but it was not working properly, shame for such a hotel. They certainly need to upgrade few things, A/C not always very quiet and come on, put some lights in the rooms! Collapse

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we loved every bit of this hotel. Very central location- easy to get to by bus number 1 from the airport which takes approx 40 mins and costs 1.60 single journey. You can buy the ticket on the bus. When we got there check in was very fast and straight up to the room. The rooms are very extravagant- you do feel as though you are transported back in time in to a most glamorous age. High ceilings, luxurious velvet drawings everywhere. We immediately popped out to buy food/drink from a supermarket. Luckily there is a carrefour about 5-10 mins away and we stocked up on water and snacks. When we got back there was a delicious plate of pastries (macaroons, biscuit and Canele's). We then went out for our dinner reservation at Lou Lou's- recommend this as it's only 10-15 mins walk, very good food and great atmosphere. The next day breakfast was very plentiful and we felt we had more than enough choice, hot breakfast, pastries and cold with a variety of juices/smoothies and a great view overlooking the square. We had so much we didn't need to have lunch. As we had a bit of time we decided to check out the indoor heated pool and spa area. Check that this is included in your booking as there are some exlusions. Upon entering it was just the most luxurious setting with lots of lounging areas, the pool itself is quite grand and inviting. They have a very very nice Sauna, however the Hammam or steam room was a bit of a let down as didn't seem very well maintained. There is also a twenty four hour gym but as there was a PT session going on we didn't fancy it but seemed very well equipped and new. On the roof there is a jacuzzi however in the depths of winter this didn't appeal to us as the water was not steaming hot. There's also a smal balcony area where you can help yourself to hot and cold drinks and relax between spa sessions. Probably due to the time of year there are not people about which was good for us as it seemed like a personal spa and pool. Headed out for our wine tasting tour in St. Emillion booked through Viator which was a half day tour, really good as tour guide was very knowledgable and we were taken to a tasting in the town and then also a chateau and shown how the make the wine. Again we had late dinner reservations as they seem to have two distinctive sittings, one at half 7 and another at half 9. Half 7 is very popular so would suggest booking well in advance if this is the only sitting you want. This time we went to Racine which was hard to get a booking and choice was boosted by the fact our tour guide highly recommended it too. Again about 10-15 mins walk. The following day was the day we head back so we requested late check out- we got 1pm otherwise you need to pay which we thought was fair. All in all, th best trip in terms of food, wine and stay. The hotel is stunning both inside and out, with the best staff around- all polite and friendly. Would definitely stay again and would most certainly recommend. Collapse
