I stayed here recently for one night, my only moan is the room was too hot and next to the road so I could not have the windows open, there was a fan provide in the room but all it did was blow warm air around the room, that said I can not complain as the weather was 31 and gorgeous. My first impressions were the staff are all very friendly, one guy I would like to mention is the man who works behind the bar, his people skills are second to none. The food and drinks were excellent, this carried through to an enormous choice of breakfast. All in all great staff, spotless clean room, great food and drink. I will stay here again but request a room away from the road side. A1 Hotel and a credit to the management. Collapse

Spent 5 nights here with my wife on what was our first trip to Jersey. Comfortable, if fairly compact, well-equipped accommodation (I'm always pleased when room includes bath as well as shower facilities) with friendly helpful staff. Particular praise is due to staff for their assistance in sorting out a muddle caused by me when I mistakenly double-booked an Island tour online. Delicious breakfast included with good range of fruit and cereals as well as cooked items to order. Excellent Wi-Fi. Strong, password-protected signal throughout the building. As one or two other reviewers have noted, the hotel is 15 mins walk from the town centre (possibly 20 from the main hub of Liberation Square). Whilst that is fine generally, it can be a bit daunting in the evening if you have already had a busy day- on those occasions probably limiting you to eating in the hotel restaurant. That isn't too great a disadvantage as the hotel restaurant food is good (we ate there twice) but we always like to sample a variety of eating settings when on holiday Our room was towards the top of the building and as it was an exceptionally hot week it proved difficult to escape the stifling heat. A fan was provided, but we ended up opening the window as well. The hotel is on quite a busy road and I was surprised how many boy racers were evident in the night, despite the alleged 40mph limit! Overall though, a pleasant stay in this comfortable and friendly hotel. Collapse

What can we say about it this hotel from the moment I opened the main door we were made to feel so welcome . The staff are a credit to the owner of this hotel the rooms are spotless the food second to none. Coming in late at night and asking if we could get something to eat it was not a problem . The breakfast staff were all on point if my cup was empty I didn't need to look for any staff they were there filling it up again the breakfast menu was very good and any combination of items was not a problem . We went in for dinner a couple of nights and again the food was delicious and plenty of it . I can't say enough about this hotel it made our stay a very pleasant experience and memorable . We are planning to come back to Jersey and this place would be our first choice to stay again I can't say enough about the Inn thank you so much for a very pleasant experience and please thank all your staff for us Collapse

I had a premonition that there would be issues with this hotel when I called the day before arriving to ask if there was any airport pick up, or if not, about taxi availability. The person on reception had no social skills at all (so what is she doing on reception?). No pleasant greeting or even friendliness showing through in the voice. When I asked if the hotel had any airport pick up service, the answer was a short sharp 'no'. I then had to ask specific questions in order to glean information - nothing was actually helpfully offered. The room itself was ok, but suffering from a recent back injury, which had left me unable to bend easily, I found I just could not turn on the bath taps. There was a fixed shower screen going over halfway along the side of the bath, which meant you had to bend over and round quite a long way in order to turn them on - a feat which even an able-bodied person might find a bit difficult. In the end, I had to call reception and wait for someone to come up and turn on the taps for me. To be fair, they said I could do the same thing the next morning, but I got into the bath dry and managed to turn on the taps once in it. The room has signs to indicate when you want the room cleaned and when you do not want to be disturbed. The first morning, I went to breakfast at around 8:15 and did not put any sign at all on the door. When I came back 45 mins later, the room had been made up. I was a little disturbed, as I normally make sure I put passport and valuables in the safe before leaving a hotel room. I assumed, as it was early, the maid would not come in until this sign was put out and left some jewellery and my passport on the table (they were not touched). However, I had one pain killer left in a strip which I left out, and when I came to look for it before going to bed, I could not find it. I can only assume the maid threw it away, as it probably looked empty. I was not pleased about this. I passed the maid in the morning, and asked if they normally came in so early, especially if there was no sign on the door, and she said they did. I also asked her about my pills and she was quite rude and defensive, and said she had not thrown anything away. On my way to breakfast, I asked the receptionist, Jackie, about this and she said that they do knock and come in even if there is no sign on the door, so what is the point of providing the signs?. (I could understand this if later in the day, when people have probably gone out and forgotten to put the sign on the door). When I explained what had happened, she showed no sympathy and said 'There is a safe in the room". Like the person on the phone (they could have been one and the same), she obviously hadn't been to charm school. I really can't understand a hotel manager allowing people like this to work on reception - first contact with guests. Where I live (UAE), you are greeted with smiles on arrival by reception and made to feel special. I don't think one person on reception, including when I arrived, managed to crack a smile. I must admit the barman (didn't take his name but he said he originally hailed from Germany) was very pleasant and helpful when I ate there on my first night. The food was very good, as was the breakfast that came with the room rate. I also found that the hotel was not quite as near the centre of St Helier as I had thought from the description, though this was not a major issue. On the plus side, free wifi was appreciated. All in all, I would not stay here again. It did not have a good feel. Collapse

My friend and I live in different parts of Ontario and when visiting family in England spent a lovely weekend in Jersey we can definitely recommend this lovely hotel. We missed the local bus to the hotel so walked there in the rain! We received a wonderful welcome from the very friendly staff. They are mostly European and we're very helpful booking our bus tours of the island. The dining room had great food. We enjoyed fresh Jersey plaice. The breakfasts had a very good choice. Our room was very comfortable and we hope to return to this lovely establishment. PENNY Sudbury Canada. Collapse
