Modern decor, excellent front desk and housekeeping staffs, close to sight-seeing and shopping sites. The bed was firm and the room temperature comfortable. Although there is next-door construction I heard very little. My room faced the street yet it was very quiet. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, lots of towels and a bathrobe are provided. The breakfast is a Nordic feast: breads, cheeses, sausages, fish, fruits, etc. and good coffee. There are a few small lounges, a pleasant bar, and, of course, the restaurant with the excellent breakfast. There's a small menu for dinner: everything was very good. Collapse

Just 10min walk away from the central bus and train station, the hotel has a prime location and good access to most touristic area in Helsinki. Not to mention that hotel have 5 bikes which are free for rental and that is awesome in this bike friendly city. Down side is the housekeeping team is only in hotel before 3pm and the sauna has not been well monitored. It usually run out of towels and shampoo in the evening and it always has a bad smell. Located centrally in Helsinki, Hotel Indigo is a good choice for those looking to stay at an IHG hotel. The rooms while small, feature Finnish design, the breakfast is generally tasty, and the service mostly friendly. Unfortunately a broken sauna, as well as a few odd interactions with staff, prevent the hotel from earning full marks. Checking-in, we were quickly helped and given a sixth floor room overlooking the back of the hotel. The room was small but well designed with a nice desk, comfortable bed, Nespresso coffee maker, and the standard amenities you would expect. A bright green mural helped brighten up the otherwise dark room. We had booked a second room on one night for family which overlooked Boulevardi and was brighter – it may be worth asking for a front facing room. Breakfast was included in our rate and served in their ground floor restaurant. All three mornings it felt that the restaurant was understaffed, with several empty dishes on offer on the buffet and relatively frazzled employees attempting to serve coffee, clean dishes, and keep guests happy. The quality of the food however was solid and what they lacked in variety was made up in quality. The hotel features complimentary bike rentals, as well as a gym and sauna. We found the bikes to be comfortable and the staff going out of their way to make sure tires were inflated and the saddle at the correct height. The sauna however was out of order both nights that we attempted to use it which was disappointing. We did find at times that the hotel could improve their service by being more flexible: while attempting to use a drink voucher provided by the hotel at check-in, the server suggested several wines only later to be told by a manger that they were not covered by the voucher. In most establishments, the hotel would recover by offering the drink and mention in passing that it isn't the norm, but at the Hotel Indigo it felt the customer was being rebuked for an error not on their part. While minor, it left a lasting impression. All in all though, I would definitely consider returning to the Hotel Indigo as it's location was excellent and the rooms comfortable. Collapse

Hotel Indigo is the perfect location to explore Helsinki. An easy 20-minute walk from the ferry terminal and its central location makes walking to museums and the market extremely convenient. This is a fantastic boutique hotel with interesting modern design throughout. The room itself was immaculate, the beds and duvets were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. This is one of the more pleasant hotel experiences we have recently had. I would highly recommend staying here and will certainly be returning on our next visit to Helsinki. Collapse

I had a lovely stay in Helsinki and this hotel was located a short walk to anywhere! The hotel was clean and it had great decor that was understated and soothing, something you expect in Scandinavia. The reception staff were very helpful. The waitstaff in the restaurant were impeccable (particularly Esa and Maaria). Breakfast was terrific offering a very nice traditional food (Karjalan Piirakka (Karelian Pie) with egg butter) and it was nice to be served in Iitala crockery. It is disappointing that not many people were there for dinner. The chefs offer a fantastic menu (the summer menu included roasted dove and guinea fowl), a great wine list and, really interesting cocktails. Maybe the construction work next door and the partial street closure has something to do with it. All in all, a great experience. I am definitely staying there again! Collapse
