My partner and I have just got back from a two night stay here. We booked direct via the website as we heard you get better deals being a member and that’s exactly what we got. We were upgraded to the top floor suite on arrival (they even gave us the front facing room as I requested) and a nice selection of treats to celebrate our anniversary. The rooms have a complimentary mini bar with Scottish treats which is a nice touch. They are pretty spacious all around but the bathroom was great (even had speakers linked to the TV for when you were showering) The location is perfect, situated right next to lots of great places to eat, drink and a short walk to the Royal Mile/Princes Street. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely come back. If you are parking in OMNI multi story, make sure you ask the receptionist to provide the half price discount ticket when you leave (it’s £20 per 24 hours without discount) Collapse

We were really looking forward to our stay at this hotel and everything started well enough. We arrived at the hotel at around 11 am and knowing that we couldn't check in until 3pm we asked if we could leave our bags while we went out to the Christmas market. To our surprise we were told that the room was ready and we could check in straight away. The reception staff were welcoming and very helpful. We had booked a superior king room and had heard really good things from a family member who regularly stays at hotel indigo. On first impression the room was very clean and well equipped but we soon noticed a few faults. Firstly there were no toiletries in our room apart from a bar of soap, a bottle of moisturiser and a shower cap. When we booked the room we were told there would be robes in the room however these were nowhere to be seen. The vanity mirror by the bathroom sink was extremely loose and unusable unless you held it in position, the hanger on the bathroom wall was also loose as was the tap on the sink. We headed out to the Christmas market and enjoyed a bit of time in the city centre and had an evening meal. When we got back to the room we lay on the bed and quickly realised the mattress was dipped badly in the middle so you always felt like you were rolling towards the centre of the bed. My wife didn't sleep at all through the night and I managed 3 hours sleep before I had to get up. Some of the tv channels also didn't work. ITV2 had a black screen with a message on it but ITV2+1 worked fine which was weird. We had paid for breakfast with our room and we were looking forward to it but sadly we were let down by it. I got a cooked breakfast which consisted of 1 rasher of bacon, 1 round of haggis, 1 round of black pudding, a square sausage and 1 mushroom that was around an inch in diameter. I don't like egg so asked for no egg but wasn't offered another item in its place. My wife had the vegan breakfast and wasn't impressed with it. All in all we were left disappointed with our stay but the staff were really lovely and very helpful. We stayed in room 204 and sadly we wouldn't stay at this hotel again and would probably avoid hotel indigo in the future. Collapse

Wow what a stunning room we had. The Largest and only Twin Room in the Hotel, was more like a suite. Check in was very busy but handled efficiently and was no problem leaving our bags as we arrived early to make the most of our stay. A very short walk from bus station with tram and bus stops right outside front door. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful especially Ashley in the Restaurant. However i would say i think uniforms are a better idea than the casual look with each staff member being dressed differently. The Restaurant is quite small so can fill up quickly at breakfast but so much to choose from at the continental selection as well as hot food to order. Although i would say probably best for the staff to write down orders as quite a few were wrong and on our evening meal a bit of confusion with the young waitress were only 1 out of our 2 main courses arrived ! There was no problem leaving our dessert until a bit later so we could take a walk to see the Christmas lights at night. Overall food could be better but the lovely room and large bathroom more than made up for this. The beds were lovely and comfy with 2 doubles in the room. We had a seating area with chair and chaise lougue facing the beds and the TV unit inbetween seating area and beds could be turned round to use from both sides. 2 large windows facing onto main road and i am a very light sleeper but no problem with any noise. Bathroom had both a bath and large walk in shower with plenty of towels and toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are a nice luxurious touch also. The fridge is stocked with complimentry water/milk and soft drinks.Good selection on tea tray including hot chocolate although no de caf tea that i use or available from restaurant with biscuits and crisps too all greatly appreciated. Good sized wardrobe with plenty of hanging space .This was our second visit to a Hotel Indigo, the first being in Glasgow a few years ago and both stays excellent. I would definitely recommend and return. Thanks Collapse

We stayed here 3 nights, and it was not anything to write home about. The beds were SO BAD! We both woke up just stiff and hurting because the beds were so terrible, not to mention not sleeping all night because of it. The shower leaked all over the floor. The mini fridge had the previous tenants used drinks in it. The breakfast was completely over priced. The telephone was all disconnected from everything, so when we needed help we first had to figure out what the hell was wrong with the phone first, which was SO frustrating. I will say the staff was helpful and the Aveda toiletries were nice, it seemed clean save for the fridge. Collapse

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights in October whilst in Edinburgh and had a wonderful stay. The location is excellent, the tram stop is literally on the doorstep so very convenient if travelling from the airport, and it's within walking distance of the city centre and all the main points of interest (the castle, Arthur's seat etc). What makes this a 5* review is the service we received - the staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful in providing advice for places to go and things to do. They really took the time to make us feel valued. The room was lovely (but we would have preferred it to be a little bigger) and the complimentary mini bar in the room was a nice touch. Collapse
