We stayed at the Hotel Indigo for 3 nights in February. The hotel was very central and we requested a quiet room, which we got near the back of the hotel next to the pool. The room was lovely and modern, a nice size and quiet. The hotel had a gym but did not use it, others did so it must be ok. The hotel is just a few minutes from the les ramblas, airport buses and taxis. We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel, £26 and the airport bus back £5.90 each one way and these are very frequent. Next time we would just use the bus but this was our first trip to Barcelona. The marina is approx. 30 mins walk from the hotel, walking at a normal pace, and another 10 mins to the beach. The city as expected was busy and this is out of season but we did not have an issue getting a seat in a restaurant at all. Only criticism to the restaurants not all cater for vegetarians so we had to go round a few before we found one who did. Overall a very enjoyable stay and the hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Collapse

Very impressed with our lovely room overlooking the solarium at first. The room was huge with a sofa area. However, because of this location the room was extremely dark. We arrived early evening & the next morning we discovered the shower leaked, badly! I know ever shower in every hotel leaks but this took 2 bath towels to mop up!! I'm sure the hotel must be aware so why not fix it? If we hadn't already unpacked everything we would have told reception but didn't want to have to repack to move rooms. The other niggle was insufficient plug sockets. There were 2 which didn't have something plugged in already. One was so high up the wall it was useless the other was practically hanging off the wall so we didn't use it. This meant unplugging various items to charges phone, boil kettle etc. Now for the positives. The hotel is in a great location. Close to bars & restaurants. La Rambla is in walking distance. The tour bus stop (a must do) is 5 minutes away. There is complementary water & juice in the rooms. There is also tea/coffee making facilities. However, our coffee pods weren't restocked after the first day? Breakfast was excellent, good selection of hot & cold dishes. There was also fruit, yogurts etc. We also had lunch which was delicious & not too expensive. The solarium is great for soaking up the sun, a real sun trap and towels for sun beds are provided. The staff were all very nice, pleasant and professional. Collapse

It has our highest recommendation! Collapse

Two of Gaudi's best known houses within 10 mins walk. Staff very helpful, some great restaurants within 5 mins walk. Recommend Tapas 24 (great tapas) and El National (4 restaurants and 4 bars in one space that cover the nations food). Would definitely stay again next time in Barcelona. Collapse

I've stayed in many many IHG Group hotels (Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn etc) but this is the first time I've stayed in a Hotel Indigo - and based on this experience it certainly won't be the last! From the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out everything was perfect! The hotel is more of a boutique hotel than other brands in the IHG Group, and is uniquely and beautifully decorated to reflect the style and culture of Barcelona. The location was great, just a short walk from Plaza de Catalunya and La Rambla. My room had a beautiful mural above the (very comfortable) bed and a decent bathroom with large shower and good choice of toiletries. There was a great selection of teas and coffees and I had a small balcony overlooking Gran Via - although I think this varies according to the type of room you book. There is a relaxed, mainly shaded pool area and then an upstairs "solarium" for serious sun-bathing. One small thing to point out is that pool doesn't open until 11.00 and the pool area and solarium don't get the sun until around 11.00. But I appreciate that is not an issue for most people. There is a great bar and restaurant, with a terrace. Drinks are also served to the pool and solarium. There is a good selection of interesting takes on Spanish dishes, paellas, burgers, and snacks/sandwiches at lunchtime. I ate there a couple of times and the food was excellent. Great cocktails too- and drinks are reasonably priced very a good quality hotel (10 euros for a cocktail, 3 euros for a medium beer and 5 euros for a generous glass of wine). I didn't eat breakfast but it's 16 euros and looked pretty good. The staff are amazing - Emilia, Rodrigo and Nico are a fantastic team in the bar and restaurant and looked after me brilliantly all week - Thank you! Also a big thank you to the fantastic ladies on the front desk - and apologies that I didn't get your names. And I was also impressed with how friendly and warm everyone else in the hotel team was. Everyone always had a smile and a hello. Overall a fantastic hotel and I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Barcelona. Collapse
