We had high hopes of this hotel, but alas it is some six or seven years out of date and in need of a cash injection to get it up to modern standards. Location wise its a 10 minutes tram ride to the main sights (take tram number 71), so does feel a bit out of the way. Close to Renweg station though with is easy from the airport on S7 train. Pros: Very good buffet breakfast selection. Staff on reception speak good English and are very attentive. Cons: Rooms on the ground floor are bland (new carpets and some character required such as wall art or paintings). The pool whilst decent is very small and their "leisure section" is unmanned until 10am meaning that you shouldn't expect to easily obtain towels and robes until then. Also the sauna isn't switched on until 10am so dont consider using it until half an hour after that. No keys in the lockers, so took our belongings poolside. As mentionned, its a bit out of the way in a souless area of Vienna - if we went back we would stay more central. Its also mainly a business hotel, so we saw a lot of suits and air stewardesses/pilots. Collapse

THE reason why I marked it Very Good is because of the entire staff working here . They are full of good intentions. From the reception to the bar and all the way to the breakfast . I work in customer service myself and all you want sometimes is this little genuine smile or this genuine intention to assist from the staff. The hotel features are kind of aged a little bit , with a very claustrophobic gym and very long corridor to walk to your room However , I still enjoyed the fact that I was able to interact with the staff and they assisted me with all my request straight away . THE breakfast itself was awesome , juicy fruits and all different dishes were tasting fresh . I am not a really fan of waffle , however for this breakfast I went twice for it with the fruit . The chef was very friendly and my egg white omelette were cooked exactly the way I wanted them . Adding to the hotel , the surrounding is beautiful and main sites aren’t far away . City center 10 to 15min walking distance . A botanical garden around and grocery shop BILLA at 5min walk . They even have vegan restaurant close by and of course the best schnitzels are in Vienna so go for it in the Hotel ( very big ) or outside . Again very quite for those who just want to rest . For the festive season Christmas and end of the year they do have some nice garden dinner going on . It was a very good stay . Collapse

Thanks for a great stay Marriott Renaissance Imperial Riding School team , and for the Room upgrade for being a Platinum member :). Hotel is a little ways away from the City center where most sights are, but still walkable to that area and other things are still nearby, and it’s a great value compared to the other Marriott/SPG properties :) Collapse

As a platinum member i would always get good service here. After not using the place for over a year I returned last weekend. Upon check-in at noon it was clear my room was not ready , as no preparation had been made.. I was asked to fill out the check-in card and then very near wasn't asked which gift I would like. I was then told my room was on the 6th floor and not the club building or even the club floor of the old building. When I asked, I was informed that I would need to wait and go on the waiting list for an upgrade to a club room.Never as a platinum have I been asked to wait on a waiting list! Upon arrival at my room the room had not been made ready for me, as the guaranteed extras were not there and I had to call down to remind them. The one thing that never arrived was the spa dressing gown, although I had requested it twice. Nevertheless I did go and use the gym. Be warned it is a micro gym in which they have crammed to many things into and stuck mirrors on the walls to make it look bigger. Best solution is to not bother and buy to use the big gym at the train station As for the lounge. It has been debunked of the food offerings it used to offer. As all I was offered was cold meats and cheeses with bread and salad for their Sunday evening offering. Gone was the warm food. For members the internet is free. But most hotels offer free internet now Since the refurbishing of the renaissance Wein Hotel in the 15th district, this hotel has lost its attraction, as both are not in the city, but at least the other one is on the U4 Collapse

its all about location and good service that you will get here. Its very close to the TRAMS Its just next to the main Train station. Its 20 mts direct train to the airport, no taxi needed to come and go from there. Food is excellent even food from the GRILL and if you want to eat out you are right in the centre around 10 mts from TRAM (blue) Nice swimming centre Very popular hotel for touring guides and they offer hotel pick up (no drops) when you go to day trips. My family am a repeat traveller to this one. But its not a LUXRY hotel. Collapse
