A short visit to do some business. Found this to be a very comfortable hotel, it's close to the railway station and about a 15 minute walk to the port and old town. Yes it is by the working port and while there are plenty of cafes around for breakfast there aren't many places nearby for an evening meal. We learnt from a previous visit when we stayed further along by the beach that this part of town is very traditional and restaurants along the beach don't open till 9pm. In the evening We ate twice in their cafeteria restaurant. And bar which is bright and modern with an interesting fire place . First meal was fine though the second night things were more restive there was a slight mix up with our order and another table of 3 waited over 50 minutes for their main courses. We spent an hour or so in the pool. Not all hotels in Malaga have a pool so this was a bonus . At bit cool but if you put the jacuzzi on and get it via there it's fine. Malaga has lots to see and do. The port area is very nice and it has two lots of beaches but it's a working city and not a sea side resort. And the season in Spain really runs from Easter till, September. Fine hot weather outside if that is a bonus. We had two rainy days. Collapse

Location: 4 Cleanliness: 5 Bathroom: 4 Amenities: 4 Room Space: 5 Bed and Matress : 4 Staff: 5 Me my wife and 2 kids stayed here in conneting rooms on the first floor accross the SPA and Swimming Pool (open all year round) The kids loved the pool and the connecting rooms were perfect. We used the garage under the hotel for parking our rental car. Breakfast was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay. The direct area of ths hotel isn't that interesting but it is a short stroll away from city center and shopping area. Collapse

Nice hotel. Upon arrival, the pleasant lightness and the enormous spaciousness immediately catches the eye. Friendly welcome by the female receptionist, who - along the way - recommends us a number of nearby restaurants. We ask for a quiet room because the hotel is adjacent to a rather busy road. Once in the room there's a filthy smell of cigarette smoke and there are 3 beds, limiting net space to stamp size. Back to the receptionist. She assigns us another (quiet) room and this one is just fine. The hotel is certainly not all brand new, but it's neatly maintained. That evening we eat at El Trillo which was recommended by the receptionist and it turns out to be a more than excellent choice (see my review further on). The hotel has 180 rooms and is therefore quite massive, but in general it's not really noticeable. The breakfast is extremely extensive, well organized and all ingredients are constantly being replenished. Only in the Finnish sauna, the Turkish steam bath and the swimming pool it tends become unpleasantly busy due to the massiveness of the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of Málaga train station but that is about the only advantage, as both the entertainment center in the old town and the entertainment center in the new marina are at a 30 minute walk. The indoor restaurant has a somewhat limited menu, although I must say that the 'custom made' salads (you can choose from a fair number of ingredients) are very tasty. The staff does it's utmost, but as they are only two (sometimes only one) it can take a considerable amount of time before you can order and after that it takes way too much time before your food finally arrives. I fail to understand why on the busier evenings there's not a staff of 3 or 4. Collapse

Arrived at hotel by taxi from airport and not a bad price . Hotel looked clean on arrival and lobby attractive and clean , whilst waiting to be served you observe and staff polite and pleasant. Easy check in as hubby does all the paper work . We got two key cards with our room . Apparently on line it said that you could upgrade on arrival if you wished but we chose to see what our room was like before spending more money . Room on fifth floor and quite happy with double sinked bathroom with accessories so quite happy with a fridge , large tv 2 armchairs and 2 good size beds . Oh we also got a writing desk and case stand . Personally my only grip would be there weren’t enough hangers in the wardrobe for my things so left most things in my case . I could ask for more as they are a fixture that is fixed in . Plenty of space for shoes etc and 2 drawers for smalls. Well I don’t believe anybody could complain about the choices of breakfast even though they say they only do continental but there’s bacon , eggs of different types as in fried , omelette and scrambled. Choices of fresh juices and fruit . Yougurts and pastries and cereal. Oh and hams , cheeses . Large variety of breads . I’m sure I’ve forgotten something but I personally think wow so no wonder people seem to stay for a 4 course breakfast . They have papers in the side but never bothered to see if an English one was available so that’s down to me. When we wanted to find out about the tour bus we spoke to reception and they have them on sale so that was easy but although it really not clear on line tickets can be bought at most of the bus stops as there’s a rep standing there . She took our tickets and gave us white tickets which last 24 hours or 48 so it’s your choice but well worth it . Loved the swimming pool which is heated but I found after being spoilt with a hot tub to be on the cool side but that’s ME so don’t listen there . If you have mobility problems there are no issues with using this hotel but if you struggle to walk this is way too far away from all the attractions and restaurants so remember this unless you can afford s taxis then don’t worry. Would I come again and the answer us yes . I’m sure I’ve forgotten something important but you can always ask me so it ttfn from him and me until next we meet . Collapse
