After reading reviews on Palazzin I thought this would be a great pick as a solo traveller but unfortunately ended up being a little disappointing. As a solo traveller I was given a single room on the top of the hotel which opened up to a rooftop terrace which has a lovely view over the sea which seems great initially however this terrace is open to the rest of the hotel from another access point meaning that you have no private balcony and you have people walking past your room and staring in as they explore the rooftop. There is no balcony furniture outside the room so you need to walk to the other side of the terrace to access this which may have other hotel guests sitting there. Also there is no lighting on the terrace which means that you can't sit out in the evening. The other negative about the rooftop is that there is a service yard/ area next to the room with a big extractor fan which starts up around 6:30 every morning for the breakfast service. Unless you are naturally an early rider be prepared to be woken up by this. As for the room itself it's not very big but to be fair this wasn't too much an issue for me. The bathroom however is tiny with very little space between the toilet, sink and shower unit. Total size I'd probably say this was about 1m in with by 2.5 length. I could manoeuvre this ok as I'm quite small but would not suit someone much taller or bigger in build. Other things to point out about the room just in case you've been looking at the website for Palazzin. They state the following amenities for a single room - flatscreen TV (this was not the case, small old style TV present), minibar (no minibar), safe (no safe in the room), balcony with furniture (mentioned about the terrace above), alarm clock and radio (these were not there). This said though in terms of the room itself it did mostly serve the purpose of my trip as I did not spend much time there and as a positive the maid team kept the room very clean. In terms of the more positive aspects of the hotel the breakfast which is buffet style was pretty decent and the restaurant staff whilst I did not have a great deal of interaction with them myself appeared very friendly and you could see that they were working very hard. The hotel is also in an ideal location, 2 streets away from the promenade so generally pretty quiet at night (no drunk people going past shouting, singing etc.) but also close enough to the promenade that if you want to pop out for a walk, drink, dinner, go to the shop you can do this really easily and there is also a bus stop very close by if you want easy access to get around Malta. In terms of the pool at the hotel it wasn't massive but even though I didn't stay in during the day to use it in my observation it appeared clean. Unfortunately I also can't tell you how much sun you get around the pool throughout the day but a little bit of sun does appear in part of the pool area first thing in the morning. All in all don't go to Palazzin expecting a 4 star hotel. At most I would say it's of 3 star standard however if you literally just want somewhere to rest your head in between your day to day adventures then this will about suit your needs. For me though, I probably won't be staying here again. Collapse

It is clean, and tidy, and you can end up with a nice view of the sea if you get the right room. The alcohol in the bar is a bit expensive compared with the bars on the seafront, and in Bugibba which is only 5 minutes walk away. It's a buffet breakfast and dinner with a good choice of different meals to choose from. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Collapse

I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights with my partner, we booked half bored. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was reasonable, the dinner was also okay, however you have to pay for drinks at dinner and that is including water, my partner found this disappointing. The rooms are cleaned daily unless you request otherwise. The rooms have balconies but there is currently some construction work going on opposite the hotel , therefore it can abit noisy during the day time but as we were out during the day therefore it didn't bother us as much. The swimming pools are a bit small but you can still enjoy a nice swim in them. The wifi connection was not great , they definitely have to improve of that, if the wifi connection was better I would have probably rated the hotel as very good. They serve cocktails at the bar for 5.50 euros each, they were good but there are many bars outside that do deals like 2 for 1 from like 3 to 6pm for 4pm to 8pm or even buy 2 and get one free. The hotel was not too bad overall, if you get a decent or good price on the hotel it is definately worth booking. Very peaceful hotel and the area is quite calm and safe aswell Collapse

There is building work going on opposite but it did not inpacked on our enjoyment .
