Welcome to Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura, a true Reykjavik original! Built in 1964 and formerly named Hotel Loftleidir, this hotel has deep roots in the capital city of Reykjavik, having provided comfortable accommodations to tourists, locals, dignitaries and famous people alike for almost five decades. The newly-named and newly-remodeled Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura carries on this tradition. Inside you’ll find a warm and inviting atmosphere, filled with thoughtful details inspired by the beautiful nature that surrounds the property itself. The hotel itself is right next to the domestic airport but with the sound proofing you can’t hear a thing. There is ample parking onsite. It appears a little dated from the outside but once inside it is very modern. We had difficulty with our rooms. A&R were given a room that was occupied (Andrew opened the door again!) and our room was a twin instead of the double we booked. We were both given other rooms but the reception staff weren’t very pleasant or helpful. Our new room (364) certainly wasn’t the superior room we booked. We once again questioned the reception staff who offered a kettle (no cups or tea or coffee). Our room (364) was on the third floor. There are 2 small lifts so luggage isn’t a problem. The room was not big, just enough room to unpack but not much space left to relax in. The block-out curtains are the best we had in Iceland. There is a large flat screen TV with plenty of stations, free unsecure WiFi, a small refrigerator and the room is air conditioned. The bathroom is small, there are no products supplied and the shower has good pressure and heat. We enjoyed the spa facility at the hotel, which is given as a discount to residents of the hotel. Had an amazing trip to Iceland last week. The sights were awesome. The people were friendly. We loved it. Expensive; but we knew that before we went. However, we flew Iceland Air and stayed in Iceland Air Hotel. Both were awful. Room was clean and nice; service was awful. Hotel staff simply were not helpful or knowledgeable. The were unable to offer the simplest advice (eg: where is a good place to go for a run?) Turns out, some of the best running trails I have ever seen are just steps from the front door. We found them on our own. How can you work the front desk of a hotel and not know this? In general, the staff seemed unhappy and inexperienced with how good hotels treat customers. Collapse

This hotel was very accommodating with an arrival after midnight. Rooms were clean and comfortable. They had thick curtains to keep the room dark as the sun did not set. All with very good WIFI throughout the hotel. Although it is close to an airport it is not the Keflavík International Airport which most flight come in on. A taxi ride from this airport for 4 people cost just under 300 CAD$ after conversion. Currency seems to be a problem as we continuously ran out of money. Iceland is very costly. Collapse
Great breakfast, a little run down in a remote area

I stayed two nights in this hotel, which is near the domestic airport. Near... it is really near. Airplanes park right outside the hotel and I can see the details of a plane from the window of my room. It's not too noisy though. My room is large and should have more than enough space for two+ people. I heard that some hotel rooms in the downtown are real small. The furniture inside the room, however, is like a 1- or 2-star motel. I don't mind it is dated. But it would be nice if the hotel could re-paint the furniture to make it look nice and modern. The carpet has stains that need some attention. The curtains in the room should be thicker and larger enough to cover the entire window. I was there in early June and couldn't sleep because of the sunlight. One thing that cheers my day is the breakfast. Iceland is expensive. But the breakfast had plenty of food and a wide variety of items to choose from, which I appreciated very much. I chose this hotel because I had some work to do at a university near the hotel. There is a public beach close to the hotel. It's about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the hotel. I am glad that I went there. It's nice and quiet, and I got to see local people enjoying their time with their friends and family. I moved to Marina, the same hotel chain, for another two nights. Collapse

We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed our stay. This is a convenient hotel that caters to tour groups, so it is very busy. We were able to get an early check in and it appears that this is a common thing. Rooms are a decent size for 2 people but would not work with an extra bed for a third person. Daily maid service. Plenty of places to sit in the lobby and library area. A very good restaurant is on site. Breakfast is terrific, and we paid approximately $29 USD per person. There is a spa on site which we did not use. There is a happy hour in the bar/lounge from 4 - 6 PM every night. If you do not want to be right in the middle of town, this is a good choice. Collapse
