Had a fantastic trip to Iceland. It really is a beautiful country. Make sure you wrap up warm but once you have there are some stunning sights to see! We stayed at Hotel Natura which was good. The only drawbacks were that it is a little way out of the main city centre and the hotel was slightly missing the occasional trick. For example we had to ask for tea/coffee making facilities in the room and then had to ask for them to be replenished as well. But overall the stay was good. Collapse

We booked with Tui for 4 days Feb 14th to 18th choosing them because of tours included in the price which represented very good value. The arrival and transfers to hotels was efficient and despite an initial scare when we were informed that check-in might not be allowed until 2pm (we had landed around 10am!) this proved not to be the case and we were given our room key immediately. The room was initially cold and the TV wasn't working (Winter Olympics!!) but when we told reception both issues were remedied immediately and with very good grace. We had to book trips while on the bus which could be very rushed especially as it appeared that certain trips were already quite full -it is best to research prior to leaving home and so know what you want. We had a query for the rep and she text later with the answer which was good but that was the last we saw of any reps - Hotel Natura seemed to be too far out for them to visit. The room was at the corner of the hotel overlooking the car park on the 4th floor and the view was amazing despite what it sounds like especially with the early morning snow on Thursday and Friday! Breakfast was very good and as everyone has said while the buffet lunch and evening meals were nice, they were very, very expensive. The Saturday evening meal was not as good as the previous evenings (chef night off?) and variety was lacking. However the hotel overall was a pleasant one -we caught the bus (hotel gave free bus pass although be aware you are put on a waiting list for one) one day and walked back in the snow -both experiences good. The trips organised by Tui were fine but not all the tour guides were as good as I was hoping and I would have liked more information at times. It would be helpful almost to have a crib sheet prepared by them or by Tui with routes on, points about each place (tour guides could expand on them) etc. Take note that Hotel Natura tends to be last pick up and drop off which means being last to get the seats and obviously latest home. Still being last off does give you more of a view of the city. Reykjavik is an amazing city and we were so lucky with the weather of snow -deep, crispy and easy to walk on - and sunshine. The glacier trip is amazing and definitely not to be missed. We were lucky enough to see the Northern lights on 2 evenings thanks to a stop by the tour guide on the glacier trip. The meal on this trip was not the exclusive affair that was advertised but the high from the trip experienced by most made that seem not so significant. If I was to go again I would still choose Tui but a different more central hotel not because this hotel was lacking in comfort but so as to be able to easily find different places to eat in the evening. This is definitely a very special holiday and I would recommend it to anyone! Collapse

Me and my friend booked the deal through Icelandair, which included flights, 2 excursions and this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. We were there for 3 nights. We visited on the 5th of Feb, a couple of weeks ago now. My one disappointment was that the northern lights tour kept being cancelled, but this was not due to the hotel. This was due to all the snow. We still got to go to the golden circle tour, which was awesome. The hotel room, was basic with two twin beds. It was very clean. I liked that they had l’occitane toiletries. The room has a fridge, which was handy for our duty free prosecco bottles. The hotel is prob about a twenty minute walk from the main town. However, we took cab everywhere due to the heavy snow. This was about 1500 isk - 2000 isk per journey approx. We ate at the hotel restaurant ‘satt’ on the first night. It was a buffet. It was approx equivalent to £30 per person. Standard for Iceland. Food was delicious and the mushroom soup was so amazing that we went back for 3 helpings. We also got them to make us amaretto sours at the bar and they were delicious. The fire place area near the reception is nice and cosy. The staff at the hotel were so helpful. They ordered our cabs for us, checked our excursions for us and told us good places to go to. Reception also helped me order dominos pizza on my last night. I didn’t have time to use the leisure facilities, so I can’t comment on these. Yes, it’s next to icelandair’s head office and there is a domestic airport behind the hotel. But, you don’t hear anything. It’s very peaceful. I enjoyed my stay here. I would be happy to return. Nice food and nice people. Collapse

This place looks like a middle school, not a natural hotel as promised. The right side of the building isn't even a hotel but Icelandair's business office. The pictures were taken at night on the property. They will not budge on any refund policy and the pool isn't free to use. The room reminded me of my dorm with stark white everything and twin beds. NOT the American version of a 4 star resort by any means. Collapse

We came on a deal with the national airline Icelandair on a Monday to Friday break. Our room overlooked the (wintry) car park (see photos) but did not really suffer traffic noise. The snowplough woke me up on the Tuesday morning, which was exasperating following the long day travelling on Monday. There were two gripes - the first was that on asking for the advertised free bus pass I was told that there were none left? How does that work I wonder, surely you should have sufficient. This was rectified however as I persisted and on enquiring again, later, to a different member of staff one was found. This is a valuable item and carries a hefty deposit - so do not lose it! It is well worth having though, as it allows free travel in the Reykjavik metropolitan area. We certainly made good use of it. The bus stop is just outside the car park and has a regular service into the city centre. The second gripe is that you have to pay (quite a lot) for just admission to the on-site spa complex. We were aware of this before we left England, but it just seems wrong. I can't comment on the food - there are somewhat mixed reviews - however all meals are expensive. Iceland is an expensive country so be prepared. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room - and there was also complimentary tea/coffee in the foyer. The hotel has a FREE museum area dedicted to the world chess championship in 1972 (see photos) which was very interesting. The "wardrobe" in our room was insufficient. The fridge came in handy though. We had no bath, just a shower, but there was plenty of hot water. The television was nice with a clear picture and a range of international channels. There was an iron and a hairdrier in our room too - neither of which we used, but no need to use your luggage allowance up on these items (pack some dried food instead perhaps?) and there was an ironing board too. The room, though smallish, was perfectly adequate and the hotel is actually quite luxurious. The location is "out of town" but the FREE bus pass covers this and tour buses will drop you off right at the door - thanks to ease of access to the car park. If you choose an air excursion then they take off from the domestic airport which is just alongside. Some rooms must overlook this? All staff were friendly, approachable and helpful. All spoke excellent English. No real complaints, just the two gripes above. All in all I think it is worth four stars and if the spa was included it'd be five. Collapse
