This was a weird experience ! Booked via hotels.com and arrived just after dawn (dinner time). The hotel is located in a gated area (guarded gate), after which the 'hotel' is un-findable ! After a while I googled, and learned that for this hotel (these appartments) you have to check in at the Intercontinental Hotel... would have been nice if I knew that earlier. Check in was rough as the (in itself friendly) staff didn't speak English very fluently, and they couldn't find my reservation for a while, but after 25 minutes I received instructions how to drive to my appartment (over 1 km by car away). Found the number (110) that I looked for, but couldn't find the right appartment... after 15 or 20 minutes of searching I called reception and a guy had to come and help me (arrived by golf-cart). He made me follow him to another block 300 meters away, that also had number 110 !! Apparently there's staircase-numbers and appartment-numbers that can be the same... and apparently there's signs all over... but when it's dark you don't see these as the signs are without lights at all ! Very frustrating, and all in all a 30 - 40 cold minutes looking around & swearing a lot. The appartment itself is fine by the way, new and well kept... but the unclear signs & lack of proper guidance to find your appartment ruined it for me. I stay in hotels over 80 times per year, and I've never struggled so hard to find my way ! Collapse

We stayed in the Residences which were clean and large enough although the rooms didn't have a dressing table or anywhere to put hair driers & makeup. We stayed for 5 nights & not once was the room cleaned or towels replaced. I would say this is basic hygiene. The stake house restaurant was very short staffed & the food took almost 2 hours to arrive. The Italian restaurant was very nice & lovely food. If you stayed in the hotel you had a much better breakfast room & a beautiful pool to use, but otherwise you are a 2nd class citizen. The golf course was ok but the toilet on the course smelt horrendous, I couldn't even go inside. Although it was an ok stay. Collapse

Returned on Friday 15th Oct from a 7 day golfing trip staying at the residences for the second year running and all was as expected lovely spacious accommodation with all that you need at your doorstep, a supermarket on site to top up with essentials and a lively bar (CLOVER) , the accommodation is well maintained and cleaned once during our trip with a towel change which was enough as there are ample towels on arrival, on the day of checkout instead of waiting around all day for our transfer we pre-booked a round on the golf course at the resort and the hotel provided a room to store all our baggage which was a welcome touch, we are already looking at booking for next year and already cant wait Collapse

Great resort we stayed in the residences apartments very well designed. We have the bedroom with the en suite which was very clean with very good amenities the beds are very comfortable. We played golf on the mar Menor resort the course was in good condition greens were a bit bumpy the grass is good for beginners as not too much trouble off the tee it is also suitable for low handicappers with some water and large bunkers club choice is important! We also played Alhama which is tough. Not for beginners. Hacienda Riquelme was nice and on good condition lookout for the deep bunkers. We found all the stuff be very helpful we ate in the golf Clubhouse a few times the food was very nice we Al's ate in the Italian and BBQ restaurants both were good. The whole place is like a secure mini town very peaceful we had a lovely break. Collapse

We had a lovely apartment which we had quickly and cheaply upgraded to 2 beds and 2 baths beautiful view over the pool and golf course. Visited all the local beaches on the Mar Menor. Good clean safe bathing. Not a great deal to do but a very peaceful holiday. The Intercontinental is a beautiful hotel. Quite busy and a good choice of restaurants but was a little disappointed in the quality of food in the main restaurant. Easy for days out to Valencia and Cartagena. Would go again Collapse
