This was the first time my husband & I have visited Manchester and the hotel was very accessible from Piccadilly on foot. The staff were very helpful and cheerful which made is easy to approach them if needed. The room was nice- the decor is weather/ rain themed. The bed was comfortable and heating worked well (which was great since the cold winds and snow returned). There is a simple selection for breakfast which gets replenished. Plenty of restaurants & supermarkets all round the hotel. The tram stops and the tourist information centre are diagonally opposite the road. Lovely hotel which my husband & I look forward to returning to in the future. Collapse

On arrival to the hotel we were greeted by some lovely members of staff who were very pleasant and told what we needed to know about our stay, we only stayed for one night but they told us everything from where was best to go in manchester and where the free breakfast we got included with our stay. On arrival into the room we both noticed how lovely it was and clean which to me is a key element to a good hotel. We had what we needed fresh towels, tea and coffee making utensils, the beds were extemely comfy and clean. As we had a concert to go to we asked if there was a set time that doors would be locked and we got told no, they will be locked but all we had to do was simply ring the bell amd someone would let us in, by the time we got back and went back out for a drink aroumd Manchester and got back this wasn't the case the doors were still open and staff were still friendly and asked if we had a good night, which to me was very polite of them baring in mind this was about 4am. We ended up missing breakfast which wasn't an issue but im sure it was lovely, i would certainly go back to this hotel and highly reccommend it to anyone wanting to stay in manchester as its a very central location for anyone wanting to be in the middle of the hussle and bussle. The recent refurbishment also makes it more appealing as well. Collapse

Ibis styles manchester is a modern quirky hotel in the heart of manchester. It is well positioned for shopping and restaurants, and visiting the Eithad stadium as we did. The staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and have a modern look, with good tvs and decent showers and good beds and decent pillows. My only fault would be the breakfast, which is buffet style and limited and busy, I would save the money and go room only and walk 2 minutes and get a decent english breakfast. Collapse

I’m not usually one to complain or even write reviews but after staying in this hotel last night March 17th I felt the need to create an account. I am slightly upset with the amount I paid for a room and breakfast (£126) I must warn you the “breakfast” that is included is not what you expect from a buffet style breakfast. I assumed you would get the standard English breakfast item such as beans, bacon, eggs etc like you would expect from a travelodge but unfortunately it’s a small variety of cold ham, cheeses, 1 or 2 cereals and hard boiled eggs! I wouldn’t mind if this was stated on their website. That was the whole reason why I paid for the included breakfast but we had to go down the road for decent breakfast. Also the room was very small? The wall was right at the end of the bed you have to squeeze past the end of the bed to get past. The air conditioning very loud. Their website says 24hr reception service we called and called around midnight to ask for snacks but no answer. The location is pretty perfect but sadly that is all I can say about this place. I would definitely expect my money back for at least the un-eaten breakfast or even the whole thing! Really not impressed Collapse
“If you want decaf coffee with breakfast, you should have brought it”

Very compact but functional rooms and the shower is good. Design is good in parts and very quirky. Location is excellent. Bar is good and continental breakfast serves a purpose and is included. One member of staff spoilt the whole experience when I asked for decaf coffee at breakfast and she curtly replied that there isn’t any. I pointed out that there are decaf sachets in the bedrooms and she retorted “ then you should have brought it down with you shouldn’t you” A complaint to management only showed that there was a huge stock of sachets only 10 metres away. Any customer facing business is only as good as its weakest link and she was definately it. On balance I’ll probably not stop there again as there are other places in the vicinity. (If you look at my review history you will see that I am mostly very favourable in my articles so this was exceptional and bad in my world) Collapse
