Four adults and one child stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while visiting a local festival. On the whole the hotel was good value for our needs. The rooms were basic but clean and adequate and the beds were comfortable. The lady who cleaned the rooms was friendly and polite. The staff who worked serving breakfast however were sullen and unfriendly. None of them greeted guests with a smile and one young woman in particular looked as if she had swallowed a wasp! We came down for breakfast on Sunday morning and although there were quite a few vacant tables, they all wanted clearing. I politely enquired of the member of staff who was guarding the congealed fried eggs and dried up bacon whether someone would be available to clear a table for us. She snapped at me that "someone would be clearing tables soon". She made no effort at customer service such as asking us to take a seat for a moment while a table was set up. Eventually another member of staff sauntered in and began to clear tables for 2 although she could obviously see that a family was waiting to be seated. After waiting 5 minutes my friend and I eventually cleared a table for ourselves, including finding a cloth and spray to wipe the table! Not what you expect in a hotel, even a budget price one! I don't know who is in charge of training within the Ibis Hotel group, but I strongly suggest you make sure that this group of staff receive customer service training as a priority! Collapse

This is a good stop over if you are working away, very clean, staff friendly, it has a restaurant on site a bar and in the car park a toby pub for a roast. The room was clean hot shower good size TV. very modern compared to most I have been too.

Staff have awful attitude. All staff seem to be very stroppy. It's like everything is to much trouble for them. One night there was no towels in the room. It took 30 mimites for reception to send towels. Breakfast is always cleared away before it should be. It's also pretty crappy. They also state that they are dog friendly but you can't even sit in the bar with your dog. So this dog friendly hotel l only lets you walk threw reception and lock your dog in room. RUBBISH . NOT VERY DOG FRIENDLY . Collapse

We stayed in the Ibis on Friday night as we were attending a wedding in the local area. The check in experience was really good and Michelle on the front desk went out of her way to help us and provided excellent customer service. The rooms are basic, but bright and airy with everything you would need for a short stay. The bathroom was in a wet room style which looked really good, with plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable although maybe an extra pillow would have been nice (didn’t get in the room officially until after midnight so didn’t want to ring for one at that time). The continental breakfast was really good as well with the option to upgrade to full English if required. We especially liked the 12 noon check out time following a late night. The location is excellent and accessed straight off Junction 37 on the M1. Our room overlooked the train line, but we didn’t particularly hear any noise from it, especially not during the night. Wasn’t expecting much for the price paid, but it was a lovely hotel and would consider staying again if attending anything in the area. Collapse
