We have just come back from Amsterdam and I have to say I was not disappointed. I was nervous booking this hotel as the price was very reasonable (maybe to good to be true) I had my husband warned that it was a budget hotel all plastic no glamour. It suited us as it was just a place to lay our heads. When we got to the ibis hotel we were delighted. Yes it is still a budget hotel but it is clean safe and secure. they provided safe's in the room for passports etc. you can get past the lift without your room key. staff is so friendly and helpful and everything was so personal. I would without hesitation stay here again. It isn't in the centre though. It is about a 10 minute walk from the Dam Square (centre) however that being said there is loads of shops & restaurants the whole way down to the city centre so you will not be bored I promise. We stayed here from 4-6th December. Was surprised how easy it was to travel from the airport to central station (when you arrive you can purchase a ticket from a machine costs € 5.20 per person for a single ticket) takes about 15 minutes. When we arrived we walked to the hotel and was surprised how quick we got there, roughly 10 minutes. As we were early we took advantage of leaving our luggage in the hotel's secure room. We were greeted by friendly staff who provided us with a lovely handbook and tourist map, and offered help with suggestions of places to visit and directions. We checked in and paid city tax and went exploring. I had requested a canal view and mentioned I was here celebrating my 40th birthday which had been a few days before, and was told that we had been allocated a room on the top floor as the canal view rooms were not available due to renovations. When we returned and collected our room keys I wasn't dissapointed, we had a lovely city view, and the room had been decorated in banners and balloons and had a lovely surprise gift of snacks and a free drinks voucher, which was extremely kind, thank you so much. The room was perfect for our city break, my husband wasn't keen on the wooden floor as he prefers carpets and was a bit small but fine for us. The bed was comfy, the room lovely and warm and the shower powerful and hot. We took advantage of our free drink in the bar on our 2nd night and again received fantastic service from the bar staff. I would recommend their Pinot Grigio Rose it was delicious and had a couple! The reception staff were always helpful and friendly. I would recommmend to pre book your tickets if you want to go to the Ann Frank museum when we got there we were dissapointed that it said it showed it was full for both days, so decided to walk there the next day, thankfully they opened up more spaces when we checked online when we were outside, just waiting half an hour, so not too bad. We loved how central the hotel was with attractions and places of interest all available within walking distance. I was a bit dissapointed that it didn't feel very Christmassy in Amsterdam, but did see the tree up when leaving on our last day in the hotel as well as in the tourist areas it looked like Christmas markets were being set up, so we were there a week too early! We found the hotel quiet and had no disturbance from any work that's was supposedly taking place. Overall, had a fantastic mini break away with my husband at this great hotel. Thanks Ibis Centre Stopera. Collapse

Being my first time in Amsterdam, I wanted a central located hotel. I couldn't choose a better hotel than Ibis Stopera. I always try to book in Accor Hotels for a very good service, very clean hotel especially bedrooms and an abundant breakfast choice. The staff is very helpful. It is of a walking distance from the Dam Sqaure and all other tourist attractions. A metro station is 5 mins walk, making it also easy to travel back and to the Shepol airport. However, the hotel does offer Airport transfers which are very punctual and affordable. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be my hotel of choice on my next visit to Amsterdam Collapse

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the Ibis Stopera in July 2016. The hotel was wonderfully decorated with a modern feel and we felt comfortable as soon as we entered the hotel. The reception staff were friendly and checked us in to our room immediately with no fuss. The room was beautiful and large with a very comfortable bed, and again, nicely decorated. The room boasted a flat screen tv, tea & coffee making facilities and a large floor mirror. The room we were in did not a have a nice view, but that didn’t bother us. The hotel was located just outside of the centre of Amsterdam and took 20 minutes uber from the airport. The ride cost about 30 euros. The walk to the centre of Amsterdam took around 20-30 minutes if I remember correctly, but it’s extremely close to the quaint, cute lanes with a never ending choice of cafe’s and shops so the walk isn’t dull. I would not say that the hotel is budget, I would say it is in between. The restaurant food was lovely and had a nice atmosphere. Myself and my partner both became obsessed with the Dutch delicacy ‘Bitterballen; and the hotel’s bitterballen tasted incredible and for the meet price of 5 euros, it was a bargain! For a 4 night stay it cost us £300 each including flights, which I believe is reasonably average for a summer stay in the city. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again if visiting Amsterdam. Collapse

Hotel situated close by to supermarket and train station as well as plenty of tram stops. Two stops on the train from Amsterdam central station. About a 10/15 minute walk. Also only a short walk away from the Amsterdam zoo. Hotel itself has a modern reception and decent facilities, reasonably enough priced. Rooms are quite small and basic but was to be expected. Overall quite decent but definitely not luxury! Collapse
