This hotel is a real mixed bag and the conclusion is that I do not recommend and advise you spend the same money for much much better elsewhere. Plus points Friendly knowledgeable staff Good concierge Great location Good deal with a good local beach club Minus points Dreadful new hotel built behind retained facade. Looks like a bad 1970s flat development The breakfast area and lounges are depressingly grim. Could not quite believe how bad with poor feel and atmosphere Very expensive - you can do so Much better for same money No desire to spend anytime in the hotel at all. E.g. Did not want a drink there before dinner Don't even think about paying for a partial sea view. You are in an inner courtyard - can scarcely see the sea Rooms are bland. Balconies very plain. Other guests a mixed bag. Not a sophisticated crowd. Not To say we are by the way! Redeeming factor - the staff were very good. That's how it got to two blobs. Do not go there unless on business. Even then look for a deal. Should knock it down and start again. Dreadful building. Collapse

We came here for 2 nights in August - wife, 6 year old daughter, and myself. And as further background I do have Globalist status with Hyatt. From the moment we walked in it was nothing but problems and attitude. I get that you run into issues with individuals from time to time, but what stood our here was the interactions with management were even more difficult. On the positive side, the location of the hotel is fantastic - right on the beach in the prime part of Nice. Beautiful scenery all around. Our first challenge was that the room they put us in was terrible - in a corner, blocked view, and people in the next room smoking joints on the balcony. We requested a change, and their response was that I didn't specify we had 3 people in my reservation. Not relevant at all, but they brought that up over and over again. I'm aware that one should specify that if one desires multiple beds, but we weren't requesting that at any point. They were obsessed with it. They finally did agree to move us to a new room the next day, and agreed that we could stay in our existing room until the new room was ready - just have our bags ready to go and they'd move them for us while we were out and about - ok fantastic. The next morning when I went to inform the manager that our bags were ready, he insisted that he'd have to check us out and we'd be "roomless" until the new room was ready. I informed him that the manager the previous night had agreed we could keep our room until the new room was ready and he stated "I have doubts about if I can believe you". I insisted that he talk to the manager from the day before, but he couldn't get ahold of her. Somehow their own inability to communicate amongst each other had resulted in me having to spend 30+ minutes on multiple days getting something extremely basic taken care of. He finally yielded. When the new room eventually was ready, he informed me that he was able to speak to the previous manager and they had confirmed that I was indeed being truthful. God forbid you trust your customers...good strategy to assume customers (especially those with the greatest loyalty) are liars. The experience at this hotel has made me re-evaluate being a part of the Hyatt program. We take 1-2 vacations/year. If they can't get those trips right, why bother being loyal on all the work trips that don't matter? Collapse

The outdoor pool is very small - as in the tripadvisor picture it is really a corner of the outdoor area whereas most of the pool is indoor. The sunbathing area surrounding the small pool is very limited with roughly 10 sundeckers - for the entire hotel guests - while the majority of the deck is allocated to restaurants. The hotel should provide more space to hotel guests who paid for the rooms! The restaurant have also blocked the viewed to the sea - it is disappointing. It would be wonderful to have an infinity pool here. Perhaps the hotel expects most of the guests will be out at the beach. But the hotel 's location is perfect - being right on the sea side in front of the beach, you are literally a minute from the public beach and can sneak back to your room if the heat becomes unbearable. Old town is within walking distance where you have ample of restaurants; Keisuke Matsushima, the celebrity chef's restaurant, is right behind the hotel. The airport bus station is right in front of the hotel. Rooms are spacious. It is a bit inconvenient to have the toilet in a separate room. If you plan to spend time in the beach, this hotel is perfect. Collapse
