Business hotel with gbp 15 for internet use? Seriously? This is Britain in 2017 not 1985! Shameful , even buses offer free wifi. Your greed is shameful and there are great hotel alternatives in the area.

My party of 3 recently stayed for 2 nights with a group from TRAVEL EDITIONS. While the hotel itself was good with excellent facilities--we were extremely disappointed with the food offered for the evening meal.. ( the group were all on half board ).. As we were in a group,of 41 we did not expect that the full menu would be available & were also quite prepared as requested to order well in advance . What we did not EXPECT IN A 4 STAR ESTABLISHMENT TO BE OFFERED ONLY 2 CHOICES ON THE MENU ( APART FROM A FURTHER VEGETARIAN CHOICE ). My party decided this was not acceptable & we dined out at our own expense, elsewhere on the second night. Whether this was the fault of the MARRIOT or the tour company TRAVEL EDITIONS, I am unsure but nevertheless this does not enhance the hotels reputation. I submitted this feedback to TRAVEL EDITIONS & their arrogant response was this was the offer by most of their competitors & possibly this type of break was not for me.. They are 100% correct but at my age of 79, I have travelled to many places world wide & stayed in a variety of establishments & do not expect a 4 star hotel to serve one star rubbish. I will never again book a trip with TRAVEL EDITIONS--THE TOUR ITSELF WAS FINE. THE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES.. Travel Editions competitors do offer much better fare & I this respect they are quite wrong. Irving Struel Collapse

The hotel is nice. I was assigned a handicapped room first. Have to say not sure how a person with special needs would take a shower in that room the shower is part of the tub and you have to step up about 10 inches into the tub. Transferred into a regular room with two twin size beds. the shower is still very high off the ground however the shower head is at least high enough that you do not have to stoop down to wash your hair. The restaurant on property has a very limited menu and the fish and chips not the best. Collapse

We stayed here for 2 nights while attending a wedding nearby. The hotel has a huge car park and is easy to get to from the motorway. On arriving at the hotel whilst walking in to the reception we noticed that the entrance was littered with empty bottles and dirty glasses from the bar, something which was present all the time we stayed here. Not a great first impression. Checkin was swift and we were given a room on the ground floor. Whilst walking to our room we again noticed lots of dirty glasses and room service trays outside of the bedroom doors yet this was late afternoon when we arrived so not sure what all this was still doing on the floor? The room was fine, modern and clean and a comfortable bed, this was the best part of the hotel. My main issue on getting to the room was connecting to the wifi. You either pay for it or have to join as a Marriott member to gain free access. Having tried to do this several times with not much luck i gave in and just used my data. This is one of the main reasons why I always pick a holiday inn or Crowne plaza when traveling, they have a much easier and complimentary wifi that you can use. We didn't use the restaurant in the hotel but we did have breakfast which having been used to staying in holiday inns and Crowne plaza hotels quite frequently I was looking forward to however me and my wife were both left disappointed by the lack of choice and the quality of the food. The hot food was very basic and was hardly any of it. The continental breakfast was even worse with only a couple of choices of bread, a few pastries and some cereals. In fairness everything was ok during our stay but for the price and the hotel rating I was expecting more. Not sure if it's the location or simply just the atmosphere within the hotel itself but I felt it lacked any. Collapse
