I read a lot of bad reviews and I honestly don't get it. One thing is true, if you want the five star experience you'll have to look elsewhere. But if you want a place that's clean, close to everything at a price that won't break the bank the HoJo is great. My girlfriend and I came for four nights on the family fun plan. It came with some great food discounts, two Clifton Hill fun passes, 2 days of We Go transportation, a free in room movie rental (and a bag of popcorn) as well as some other stuff we didn't use. All for nearly $200 less than the place we usually stay that came with no extras. I didn't find it loud even on the Friday night of the first long weekend of the summer. And whatever caused the smell I read about in a number of reviews has been taken care of. I can't speak to the parking situation as we arrived on the train. But the staff were all very nice, the pool area was great and as I mentioned if you're there for the casinos, Clifton Hill or the falls themselves it's all within walking distance and the We Go will take you everywhere else. If you set your expectations to reasonable you'll find this property wont disappoint. Collapse

We haven't stayed yet, this is about the booking process. We booked almost a year out from our stay (less than half of what the price is now). We booked it that early because of the price. It was also booked with a "Book now, pay at the hotel" option. If that wasn't an option, then it shouldn't have been offered. If I want to fly somewhere for a good price, I'm going to book almost a year out. Hotels (from my experience) work the same way. - Tried to charge my card a few months before we checked in, which is not what I agreed to. Maybe I missed some fine print, but regardless, I fixed the problem on my end, you didn't. - When I did have the problem fixed, I was told that it wouldn't authorize because the card expires before we check in. I was told by 'Raj' at the time that the reservation was still intact at the rate I booked it at as long as I called with a new card by June 1. - I got a new card and called one of your managers who took the card number and double-checked my email address. Nothing has attempted to come off the card, which is why I sent another email. I am now being told that I can't book the room at the rate that I did back last year. If the room was never available at that rate it should have NEVER been advertised at that rate. That is called 'bait and switch' and is illegal. My wife is in a wheelchair and it makes sense to stay at a hotel close to most of the attractions to avoid putting her chair in and out of the van several times a day. It is obvious that your hotel doesn't want our business without us jumping through hoops and I am seriously considering going to your competitor across the street from you. We picked your hotel because of it's location to Clifton Hill and the price we saw. Collapse

My boyfriend and I have just returned from our two night stay at the Howard Johnson by the falls. We were pleasantly surprised from the moment we walked into the lobby til the time we checked out. We were greeted by the most friendly staff and the check in was prompt. The hotel has been completely renovated from top to bottom. We stayed on the 7th floor in a jacuzzi suite which over looked the restaurants and had views of the skylon tower and partial view of the evening fireworks. The room was spotless and was exactly how it was described when we booked. They had even left heart shaped swan towels on our bed which was a sweet touch. All the maintenance staff were so polite and friendly and we really enjoyed chatting with them on our way out and to the pool. Pool was lovely and hot tub even had an outdoor pool and deck for warmer weather. The location was fantastic just off clifton hill within short walking distance to everything. We will definitely be coming back during the summer with the rest of the family. Collapse

My bf and I went and got the couples package we had a great time. I would not recommend Denny's tho that was just a shot show. But the keg and our back where fantastic. Plus getting engaged at the falls was a treat of a lifetime.
