First impression was a bit off-putting due to the rather steep incline from road level to the front entrance to the hotel, especially in the heat and pulling suitcases. BUT the friendly and warm welcome from the ladies in reception more than made up for the 'cardiac exercise' Our one-bedroom standard apartment was spacious, kitchen was compact and well-equipped, bathroom facilities included a bidet and the bedroom was twin-bedded with plenty of wardrobe space. A suggestion re a handrail above the bath to assist those who have difficulty accessing the bath was dealt with within 2 hours - big thank you to Carmen. Apartment was spotlessly clean, towels and bed linen changed regularly. Balcony overlooked pool which had several smaller pools for children and tabletennis and snooker tables set up near the pool bar area. We were on level one so our view of the sea was limited but not a problem. Restaurant - we were booked on a bed and breakfast basis and have to commend the staff for the excellent selection of both cold and hot food available.Staff were friendly and efficient. Our first visit to Santa Maria was marvellous and would recommend this hotel as a good place to stay. Locality of hotel is excellent, only a few minutes from shops and beaches. We liked it so much we intend to book another holiday here for 2018. Collapse

This hotel was offered to me by the manager of the Mercury travel company in St Petersburg, and every day and every hour I was sending thank-yous to Tatyana for this excellent choice. I liked everything - location: the best beaches of the island are in 5 minutes; supermarkets; excursion agency Torviscas excursions to the left of the hotel with very good prices and 2 people I fell in love in love with, Eleonora and Diego, very professional, told everything about everything and I bought everything through them; and even Amanda's bar with live music every night - Sean King as Elvis Presly, Pip Brown as Michel Buble, Andy Lynch as Ronan; many other bars and restaurants and bus stop to everywhere in 5 minutes walk. My super room - very big and cosy with big terrace and sea view, kitchen and huge bathroom. Swimming pools one warm, which I used once because prefere swimming in the ocean. The food in the restarant and the chef who was cooking grill outside But most of all I love people of this nice chain - booking manager Ivan Ravello who tried and found a room for me in a very short period when everything was fully booked to celebrate my birthday, great team at the reception of the hotel - Franck, Danique and Nancy, whom I tortueded with my questions and requests because I came alone by myself for the first time to Tenerife and was asking everything about everything and they always were so friendly and nice and tried to help me, so my stay was perfect from all points of view. Thank you all very much!!! But my greatest Thanks are to the restarant waiter Angel, real host of the place, who was so nice, friendly, helpful to everybody and happy every evening, he a sort of shared his happiness to all the customers and every evening after dinner I started my evening adventures in great mood after nice dinner and good service. It is a real talent to get along with people like him. Thank you, Angel !! And of course wanna say thanks for my bithday present - a bottle of champaigne, fruit basket, sweets and jams, it was very very touching. I am looking forward to come back Thanks again to everybody Collapse

We stayed here a couple of years ago and decided to go again, the hotel is in a very good location, close to beaches, bars and restaurants, 25 euros in the taxi from airport. We had an early flight so room was not ready, so left cases in luggage room and headed off to the sea front. On return the room was ready, and in fact we had been upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom apartment. Great size room, full kitchen, but like most of these places they never give you washing up liquid or cloths ( although a tea towel did appear on the Wednesday). The balcony had two "sea-views" over building roofs and the hotel in front on this one blocks out the sun after about 4:30pm. Being on the 1st floor meant you heard the road noise a lot, lorries delivering, taxis sounding their horns and an annoying Tuktuk taxi squeaking his horns as he drives along Beds were comfortable and clean. One annoyance for me is the charge to use the safe that is part of the room, 18 euros for the week ! Food was average, lots of salad, bread, fruit, deserts, but what lets the dinner down is the hot meals are not thought out, so you get a chicken dish, but not a lot to put with it, like potatoes or rice, so you end up with a mixture of things, the food cabinets only keep the food like warm, so when you put it on the cold plates it goes cold quickly. Hot breakfast is below average, fatty bacon, sausages with more cereal than meat, scrambled eggs made from powdered egg, or liquid egg rather than real ones. Continental style breakfast was good though. The pool is a nice setting although all beds in use or reserved! On our last day we were not able to pay for the late checkout as the one bed apartments were all unavailable. We had use of a curiously room for a shower though before the flight. Collapse
