This was by far the worst stay I have had at any Hilton Hotel. The first night, I had to switch rooms at 11:00 pm because I had no hot water pressure in my shower. After switching rooms, a party continued on my floor until 2:30-3:00 am and I could here the people passing by my room talking loudly in the hallway. To top the night off, the fire alarm went off at 3:00 am and we sat downstairs until 4:00 am until we were told it was safe to go back to our rooms. The reason for the alarm was that the party goers exited the hotel through an alarmed door. To top it off, the next morning after I only got a couple of hours of sleep, I turned on the kitchen light to discover cockroaches all over the floor and in the cabinet under the sink in the kitchen. That evening, I killed a couple of roaches in my bathroom (prior to taking a shower) and another one on the wall in the kitchen later in the night. Maintenance was requested to come treat my room. It worked for two days and then on my last night's stay, I had several more roaches in the room when I returned from dinner. As a frequent traveler for business to New Orleans (1-2x per year), I will not be staying, nor recommend this hotel for any of my colleagues. Collapse

This hotel has a convenient location in the central business district of New Orleans that is walking distance from the French Quarter and a short trolley ride away from the Garden District. We asked for a quiet room and got one. Higher floors are quieter. Sheets get changed every 5 days, but used towels get replaced daily, and the housekeeping staff empties room trash and cleans the bathrooms and sinks. Rooms have a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, stove, and dishwasher. The kitchen also has a table, chairs, plates, glasses, silverware, paper towel, a coffeemaker, a toaster, etc. The fitted sheet on our king bed kept coming loose at the corners. The flat sheet and quilt were a bit small for such a large bed. The rooms have central air-conditioning, and guests can set their own temperature. Dressers and sinks are rather low for adults. The room is well maintained. However, a garbage can near our floor's elevator was not emptied every day and was full of trash most of the time that we were there. We stayed from January 3 to January 7, 2017. Carnival season begins on January 6, which is Twelfth Night. Collapse

I would give it a 6 possibly leaning to 7 on scale of 1-10 for a Homewood Suites Hotel. But I would also put the average Homewood above many other brands. Having at one time been a Hilton employee including a stint at a Homewood, I enjoyed many stays with the employee discount and the Homewood concept was one of my favorites. The room was very large with plenty of room if you are a family or a group. The layout was not the most efficient I have seen. One of the reasons for lowering my rating was that maintenance was obviously not top notch. Some cracked tile, a little mildew and a garbage disposal that did not work. Beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. Little noise penetration into the interior of the room. We were there on New Year’s Eve and even with the crush from that all of the staff we came into contact with we friendly and helpful. The one real disappointment was the sub-par breakfast. Good sized room with plenty of seating, but the food was limited and of mediocre out of the bag, box or can quality. While not the worst hotel breakfast I have ever had, it was the worst one in a Homewood Suites I have ever had. Collapse

The hotel staff was very polite and accommodating. The room was spacious and the bedroom was separate from the family room. Each room had it's own television. The kitchen was equipped with a full size refrigerator, a stove, microwave, dishes, eating utensils, and pots. They even provided dishwashing liquid and paper towels. Nice size bathrooms and closet space. Elevators worked great. The morning breakfast was awesome. Lots to choose from and it was not continental. Hotel is in close proximity for those who like casino's, to Harrah's Casino. The Riverwalk Premium Outlet is also in walking distance and is full of places to eat. Very close to the Superdome and can walk there too. Lots of places to eat in the area. Parking is expensive but they offer cheaper parking in a self-parking lot that sits on the side of the hotel. You did have to pay as you go in and out, but it is much cheaper than valet. I saved because I walked were I needed to go. No dislikes for me at this hotel. Collapse

We travelled as a family with a little one. The location is great and the staff was responsive to our needs. The hotel is an old building and for the price range it does need some maintenance and fell short of expectations. The courteous staff made up of the lack of trim. The hotel booking if you call the hotel is pricey and they will try to upsell. Just go through tripadvisor or Expedia for better rates or hiton website itself. My reason for giving a Poor review is one day I went to the business center in the morning and one of the hotel staff was looking down at a woman swimming in the swimming pool. It was not just a causual glance. He was at it for minutes. I would not be comfortable going to the indoor swimming pool in this hotel. It left a bad taste about the stay. Thank god we did not use the pool in the hotel. Collapse
