After all the bad reviews I had read, I was worried that I had made a BIG booking mistake. So happy that I didn't cancel!! Great welcome by the staff. Room was large and clean. On Sunday, we left our room late and upon our return found that the room had not been cleaned. Called the front desk and just asked for towels, left the room for about an hour and returned to a cleaned room, made bed and lots of towels. The FREE breakfast has pancakes or waffles, oatmeal , assorted pastries, fresh fruit, eggs, juice, coffee and dry cereals. The FREE reception has makings for a salad, wine, beer cheese, even BBQ beef on one night. On the second day, the power went out in the bathroom. Went down to breakfast and on our way back to the room, stopped at the front desk and told them about the problem and went straight to our room, where we were met by Maintenance waiting for us, can't be any faster than that. The property may be older and not as "modern" as a newer hotel. But the large, clean room was welcoming, everything worked and the staff was extremely helpful. We would stay there again. MM Collapse

Stayed here for two of my three nights in New Orleans. The room itself was alright for the price we payed. The closet door was broken when we first entered the room. Annoying, but not a dealbreaker by any means. The issues started our second day. We were told that our car would be valet parked in a SECURED lot. However, the first night, it was vandalized in the lot. It was a very traumatising experience for my family. I was appalled by the lack of empathy by the Hilton management. The general manager did not contact us once. We were stranded without a car all day and the Hilton didn't offer us any transportation or activities to help keep the kids busy. We were stuck all day dealing with insurance and police. Hilton was too busy playing the blame game with the parking lot to care. Very disappointed and will not return. Collapse

I am not someone who leaves reviews. But this was a very upsetting experience. I stayed at this hotel for my wedding. I had 4 guests who were unable to check in because someone entered the dates incorrectly into OnQ and the hotel became booked. This was very stressful when I was trying to deal with everything else for my wedding and hard for me to see how it happened as I was very clear on when my guests were to check in. The AC in two rooms broke, a fire alarm went off in my room (we did not smoke...it was from the shower steam...) and the mother of the groom's room had a horrible mildew smell that ended in her daughter getting sick. Most of my guests were not able to check in until after 5pm, well after the promised check in time! On the day of our check out I called down to have a 1:30pm check out because I needed to do some things to wrap up from the wedding the night before. The hotel did not honor this 1:30pm check out and threw everything in the room away! I had cards from my family and friends that I had hoped to keep that the staff threw away! I am very disapointed and I cannot tell you how heart broken I am because of this. For all of this that went wrong their idea of compensation was a bottle of wine...is that a joke? Replacing those cards and all of the wonderful messages inside is impossible. A sincere apology and acceptance of guilt is what we wanted from the staff, not a pathetic attempt to pay off what happened. It is obvious that the staff have not been trained properly in how to handle upset guests or how to make things right. The staff acted like all of the problems we had were silly and unimportant. This was my wedding and VERY important to me. This was not acceptable by any means and we will not be returning to this location. Collapse

I chose to stay at this hotel as i had stayed here a couple years ago and the service had been fabulous. This time, the total opposite. For starters, the tv in the living area did not work. One day it rained and we called down to get some extra towels, they said they would be right up. An hour later we had to go down and get the towels. Last but certainly not least, one morning, I went down for breakfast. The dining area was very full so I was sitting on the bench facing the front door/desk. I went to go get some food and while in the kitchen area, two employees appeared to be "having words" (fighting) with each other. I looked at another guest and her response was "not what I want to hear first thing in the morning! Very unprofessional!". I agreed with her. Since I was so close to the front desk I decided that they should know what was happening in front of several guests. The manager (I assume) pulled one of the two employees involved up to the front desk. Then, took her over to near where I was sitting and basically pointed me out. At that time the manager walked away, and the employee came up to my table and in a very loud voice, told me she wasn't fighting, that is just the way they talk to one another. I mentioned that I was not the only one who witnessed the fight and that guest used the word unprofessional and this employee said that they had been completely professional!! She then left and went back to the kitchen. A few minutes later I watched that same employee take breakfasts to the staff up at the front desk. Not once did the manager come and talk to me. This hotel is loud and old. STAY AWAY!! Collapse

I stayed for 9 days in this hotel during the Jazz festival. There are many reasons to stay here again: large rooms, kitchen facilities including a large refrigerator and microwave. The hotel is just on the edge of the French quarter and surrounded by restaurants and shops. I had no problems walking back and from the hotel. The reception staff is also friendly and helpful. It is a well managed hotel but it has many short comings: while the mattress was good the bedding materials were basic and average quality. (No duvet cover is provided) Altough the hotel and rooms are clean the room cleaning service is unsatisfactory.The biggest problem is the noise that comes from the air conditioning system. I found it difficult to sleep when it is on. The bathroom is in need of modernisation as well. As an Diamond tier HH member I am disappointed by the location of my room, which was at the back, dark and noisy and the receptions' inability to help me in a meaningful way. Lastly although having breakfast is a plus but, the limited number of healthy eating options and not having natural yoghurt, some good cheeses and green leaf salads disappointing. Collapse
