We arrived into this excellent accommodation directly from Chicago O'Hare Airport. The transfer from the Airport was so convenient. We used the Metro and the Blue line with a short connection at Lake to the Red line at Grand brought us out just opposite Homewood Suites. We were warmly welcomed by the lobby staff and check in process was friendly and very efficient. That warmth and friendly atmosphere pervaded our 7 night stay. Our suite was REALLY comfortable and very spacious. The suite was equipped with excellent kitchen facilities. We could have self catered had we wished to do so but other than coffee or tea making,we didn't. The suite had a roomy bathroom. The washhand basin is separate from the bath/shower and toilet. We found this arrangement very suitable. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very good indeed with everything you would ever need. Lots of fruit, fruit juice, cereal, toast, scrambled egg etc etc. We were very surprised to discover that a complementary small plates evening meal was also available from Monday to Thursday evening. Beer, wine and soft drinks were als complementary at this time. A lovely surprise which we enjoyed. Only one slight criticism - the lifts can be extremely slow at busy times. This hotel is superbly well situated for exploring The Loop and further afield in Chicago. There is so much to do in summer. Lots of activity around the Lake Michigan water front, wonderful restaurants, river tours on the Chicago River and on Lake Michigan. It is a great idea to buy a ticket for the hop on hop off bus. This is an excellent way to discover the city. One of the evening highlights for my wife and I was the free concerts in Millenium Park every evening. A memorable way to spend an evening in balmy temperatures. So many of the activities in the City are within walking distance from Homewood suites. The metro or tourist bus will easily take you to other attractions. For example Wriggley Field, home of Chicago Cubs, the zoo, science Museum etc. We loved this city and our experience in the Home Wood Suites added so much to our weeks time there. The top floor gym and swimming pool really helped to get exercise and to escape the afternoon heat. We thoroughly recommend this hotel and will stay next time we visit Chicago. Collapse

This was our first time in Chicago and we couldn't have stayed at a better hotel. It was perfectly pleasant for myself, my friend and my two children. Chicagos buildings are a bit different that other places. They build up and not out which is a bit confusing to us rural folk. When you enter the hotel on the first floor it is nothing but a small area with the doormen and elevators. The sixth floor is where you will check in and enjoy the hotel lobby. This is where the delicious breakfast is served and where the evening reception will take place. The staff here is excellent. Friendly and extremely helpful. Diana was exceptional and when my daughter lost an American doll jacket, she sent it to our home with a beautiful card addressed to my daughter as "the prettiest girl ever!" This made her day! Our room was a one bedroom. A bit small, but efficient. Everything was clean. The two burner stove took forever to cook anything on and there is minimal cookware (I.e... We made spaghetti and there was no strainer for the pasta.) The full refrigerator was welcome. The only thing we did not like was that you could only enter the bathroom if you went through the bedroom which made it really inconvenient for my friend who slept on the sofa. The pool was refreshing and never crowded. No hot tub which we missed. Work out room with high tech equipment. My favorite thing was if you asked for ice they were happy to give you an entire bag! The location was the best part! Just around the corner from Mag Mile. Tons of restaurants. Eataly in the same building. Grocery store around the corner (the hotel staff will happily shop for you for free though.) Right next to public transportation including the free trolley to Navy Pier. Do yourself a favor and book the HomewoodSuites Chicago Downtown. You won't be disappointed! Collapse

This is a good hotel which I stayed twice. It is just 2 minutes from the Grand station of Red line, and very close to several bus station, convenient to sightseeing for this city. Just one block from the Michagen Avenue, dining, shopping are very easy. Food for evering social is good, not just taking a sip. The only issue is that the lift number is 2, which is not enough for this hotel, in rush time, you have to wait a bit longer. Collapse
