Went here on Sunday 23rd July on a Sunday driver golf break (£99 each) We wasn't supposed to tee off till 140 but had a quick word with the young lad in the pro shop and he let us go off at 12.04. He gave us a lift in a buggy to the 1st tee as it is an elevated one. The course is very good with some great holes. The greens are undulating and fast. A test for any golfer. We had a few beers after the round £4.20 a pint but expected in a hotel. Evening meal was very good as was the breakfast in the morning. All the staff were very friendly especially the lad in the Golf shop who let us tee off at 7am the next morning as oppose to our allotted time of 1030. A big help indeed. It's my 3rd time playing Hollins Hall and I'll definitely be good no back. Collapse

Room 322 The Saltaire Suite nice size room and large bathroom perfect for me as I suffer with claustrophobia-cobwebs above for poster bed need removing but other than that perfect. Fan in room much appreciated with the close weather we are experiencing right now. Alice on reception greeted us with a warm welcome and was mist helpful when I said the room allocated to us was too small and showed me to the rom mentioned above to see if I thought more acceptable due to no view - we took this room and enjoyed to lovely days stay. Alice in my opinion went above and beyond for us and matched out needs perfectly with a smile something of a rareity these days. Breakfast was wonderful with fab views and Benjamin our waiter on day two could not have been more helpfull and friendly to us showing what a difference a member of staff can make. People really are at the core of Hollins Hall's success. Collapse

Vegans, I know some of you will follow in our footsteps so I've written this review to help you get the best out of your stay. We stayed here as part of a wedding party, I'm always excited to stay in a hotel in the UK as it takes me back to my days as a teenage chambermaid when my mind boggled at the thought of anyone paying 30 times my hourly rate to sleep in a bed. Anyway, down to business... We brought our own soya milk and biscuits to complement the tea and coffee making facilities. There wasn't actually any need to bring soya milk as the hotel kitchen has it, so I'm sure they would bring some to the room if asked. We'd also requested a feather-free room, which is a nice option to have. We ate on the first night in the Zest Bar and made do with hummus, sweet potato fries and onion rings as they didn't have a suitable main. I'm always happy to have an excuse to eat carbs though so it wasn't really a problem. The breakfast buffet actually caters pretty well for vegans once you've found your way around it, we brought our own dairy free spread so we didn't have to eat dry toast. The chef confirmed that unfortunately for us the mushrooms were cooked in butter, but that still leaves unlimited grilled tomatoes, beans and hash browns, toast, marmite, plentiful fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, compote, lots of cereal varieties next to a jug of soya milk, tea, coffee and different juices. Certainly no need to go hungry. So if you're considering a visit, you should be fine with a little bit of preparation. If you do read my review and find it helpful please indicate, I'm curious to know how many vegans are passing through! Collapse

Stayed for 3 nights as part of a wedding group. Excellent facilities and large rooms. Tired looking and need of investment in updating but very clean and tidy. Good food especially the breakfast. The real asset is the staff. They are unfailingly helpful, friendly and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Special mention for Daryl in the Zest bar who was efficient, friendly and had a great sense of humour. We will like others in our family group be coming back. Collapse
