Hotel is literally across a narrow road from the Hallenstaion in Zurich. Very good place to move around Zurich with a breeze. We took the tram from outside the arrivals door at the Airport, you have to buy a ticket from the machine outside, best option is to buy the all day ticket, it lasts 24 hrs it costs 8 swiss franks. The Hotel is literally only a few minutes from the airport, you want the Hallenstadion Stop, the hotel is literally a few feet away, cannot miss it. As for the hotel, food and all was very good, breakfast plentiful. Room was lovely, clean, very good house keeping, front of house staff were very well received with tour advice. Oh and you can buy daily tickets from the hotel itself you must put them in the machine at the bus stop to have them dated prior to boarding a tram. We booked a few tours from the hotel too, Heidi Land twin tour was amazing, really good value. We took the tram into the main centre, again only a short ride away, disembark near central park hotel and restaurant, then walk down the famous Bahnhofstrasse street, the most expensive shopping street in the world!! Very long street, lined with beautiful eating places, at the end you come face to face with Lake Lucerne, certainly worth a trip around the lake 1.5 hours or you can take the 3hrs trip, stops at various places, look out on the lake for the home of Tina Turner, stunning place very much so. Along Bahnhofstrasse watch out for a very famous eating place, Zaughausse Keller, dates back to 1426, believed the crossbow of Wilhelm Tell hung on the wall. They do a signature dish, called the sword, 79CHF for two people, not to be missed. Food and drink in Zurich is expensive. We travelled in May weather was beautiful however we were told we were lucky as it had previously been raining a lot. Hotel for me is so well placed to service all your visits in Zurich, great value for money, as for any visits to the Hallenstadion, must stay hotel, no brainer not too. Oh did I mention that Andersonn Paak!! Supporting artist to Bruno stayed in Holiday Inn. Unreal I know but yup he did. lovely time shared with so many people. Collapse

Stayed at the Holiday Inn in Oerlikon for night. We booked this hotel as there was a concert t the Hallenstadion the same evening: the hotel is the perfect location if you have a concert or an even at the Hallenstadion. The Hotel is 30 seconds, really 30 seconds!, on foot from the Hallenstadion. The hotel is modern with a very useful garage (with special rate for hotel guests). The staff is very friendly. The room was ok: modern and spacious. I have nothing to complain about the room: spacious, modern and also quite. Breakfast was also fine even if for holiday inn standard I would have expected something more. If you want to visit Zurich City downtown I suggest to book another hotel as this one is not downtown but is absolutely the best in town for those enjoying an event at the Hallenstadion. Collapse

It is close to the 11 tram line at Messe as well as having bus stops outside. If you are visiting Zurich proper there may well be better hotels in the middle since it is about 15 minutes from the center by public transport. The rooms are excellent and comfortable, up to date with flat screen TV, and executive rooms with water and Nesspresso coffee The bar is better than many of the hotels I have stayed in, being off the reception area and more like a proper city bar. It has a good selection of drinks, including some nice malt whisky ;) I did not try the restaurant, photos shown during the off peak time, the ambiance is nice and the menu looks good. I poked my head around the conferencing facilities which appear quite extensive Bear in mind this is a no smoking hotel. Collapse
Ideal for me

Reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and patient. Bed really comfortable. Excellent restaurant food although it was a bit pointless giving each of us a card in German for free drinks after one meal when we'd no idea what it meant - wasted as I only discovered what the card was for when checking out. Other guests made quiet a bit of noise on the Saturday night but otherwise quiet when you want to sleep. Wifi very good. Handy access, about 30 mins on #11 tram to centre of town - tram stop Messe/Hallendtion. To and from airport tram #10 get off at Hagenholzstrasse and walk a few minutes, past Credit Suisse and Argentiana Steakhouse, through underpass and hotel is straight in from opposite Hallenstadion Collapse

Hotel is a 4 star but I didn't have a great experience.. Was here for 2 nights for an official visit. The temperature in Zurich at night was close to zero degree c. Returned late evening from work after settling in realised that window of my room was left ajar...guess by housekeeping as I hadn't opened it. It was quite cold that night. I didn't have the energy to go and complain as had to leave early next morning. I find this behaviour most irresponsible on part of the hotel. The bed is so so. I had booked a standard room ..the room tariff was close to 200 CHF. I stayed in the Novotel the week earlier ..which is also 4 star ..had a much better experience. The toilet had only one soap cum shampoo dispenser on the wall..one toilet soap which was not replenished the next day by housekeeping. Breakfast at close to 25 or 30 CHF is quite standard ..again here Novotel scores much higher..sorry to compare but my experienced in these two hotels are within 7 day period of each other. Staff at reception and overall was OK but again the warmth at Novotel was better. No bath tub at that tariff..no replenishment of shoe milt. .again I had used it on first day.. Honestly disappointed Collapse
