I booked this hotel for the 9th march for 1 night as my 8year old daughter had a gymnastics competition early in the morning unfortunately this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life! (Trust me we have stayed in a lot of hotels) Worst bunch of staff I have ever been greeted by! I took £500 cash with me and left my partner at home with our cash card as he was working a 12hr early shift. upon arrival I was greeted in such a foul way having the receptionist refuse my money and tell me I could not stay there (booked a week earlier) the manager Lee Goodman threatened to cancel my booking and throw me and my 8year old on to the streets miles away from home as I had no cash card to put £50 deposit down but yet they had my card details on the system that I used to reserve the hotel and cash sat on the reception desk in full to pay for the room! this began a heated discussion between everyone as 3 different couples were also having the same problem before we arrived and was still there battling with the rude staff! I was told infront of my daughter to "shut up" by Elle Banks at 7.31pm! (Great front of house receptionist she is) The manager Lee Goodman clearly heard this and refused to discipline her (please review your cctv to see her saying shut up to me not once but twice) thankfully another guest heard this and came to my rescue thankfully paying for the room on her card and me giving her the cash (we didn't catch your name but if you read this thank you again) if she hadn't of done that me and my 8year old would have been sleeping in the car on the side of the road! I am absolutely mortified by the way I was treated and spoken to infront of my 8year old child and putting me in a position to defend myself infront of her raising my voice to be heard and listened to by your staff who just shouted me down in an aggressive threatening manner! I was very upset with my daughter crying her eyes out and the thought of us having nowhere to stay. All 3 guests including me went over our confirmation booking to see where it stated we needed a card on check in to pay £50 deposit and we could not find it anywhere! We all showed Lee Goodman (the manager) who had no interest at all and told us to take it up with the 3rd party booking website! Surly this is not our job to do so and he could have listened to us all and sorted this out in a more professional manner instead of refusing us a room! Thank god your other guest staying with you overheard all this and came to our rescue! As for the room well it was damp and mouldy! We will not be using a holiday inn again and will be telling all friends and family to stay well clear! There is no excuse to treat guests in this manner and certainly not infront of a child! Very Expensive for What you get

Even as a member of this hotel group my bill on checkout was £140.46 for one night which included 3 cups of coffee at £3.30 each. The rooms were tired and need upgrading if they want to continue charging this price bring in the builders.

Travelled with my 8 year old son as part of the X Factor tour coach trip. Speedy check-in, unexpected Executive room upgrade and fantastic service for the full stay. We made full use of all facilities -swam twice in the quiet pool / sauna area and my son used the pool table. Buffet dinner and breakfast all plentiful and tasty. Waiting staff were polite despite being obviously busy. The room really had everything you could need - ironing board, hairdryer, safe, separate sitting area with a second tv, wifi, tea, coffee, water and fridge. The cleaning staff had the room and all communal areas clean. Both my son and I had a peaceful night's sleep - room was dark, quiet and comfortably warm. Well thought-out room and outstanding value. Well done Holiday Inn :) Collapse

Arrived at Hotel just after 2.00 p.m. - check in was quick and efficient and room ready. There were 14 of us spread between five rooms all of which were clean, well equipped and near each other. Staff very helpful, had evening meal in the restaurant which was very good apart from the Pizzas (base very thick and for teenagers not to eat must have been bad). Breakfast excellent with good choice. The only negative points were the fact that the car had insufficient staff at times and the drink prices were rather expensive. Having said that would certainly stay again. Collapse

In desperate need of refurbishment. Do not be misled by the lobby. The rooms are shabby and in desperate need of re modernisation. Floor boards creek. Air conditioning (heater) did not work, nor did the bathroom extractor fan. The place was full of apprentices (apparently around 100 of them stay there during the week). Definitely not worth £130/night. I would not even pay £20/night to stay there. Avoid at all cost, you have been warned! Collapse
