I last reviewed this hotel in November 2014, and after three more stays since then, it continues to tick all my boxes! It remains my hotel of choice in Paris. Here's why: 1. It's very reasonably priced, for the 4 star quality it offers. 2. Its Right Bank location is excellent. It's on the Grand Boulevards (specifically Boulevard Poissonniere), and has the Metro station Grands Boulevard (Lines 8 and 9) outside its front door. It's a 20 minute walk from Gare du Nord. In fact, many sights are within walking distance: Montmartre, the grand department stores on Boulevard Haussmann, the Palais Garner (Opera House), the delightful Rue Montorgueil; even sights a little further afield, such as the Musee du Louvre, Place de la Concorde, and the Centre Pompidou, are not strenuous walks by any means. And seriously, Paris is best seen on foot! A plethora of restaurants abound around the hotel, and just around the corner is one of the city's best ice-cream parlours! 3. Service by hotel staff is genuinely warm, welcoming, helpful and friendly. We arrived very early, around 11.30am, and were more than happy to leave our luggage until the mid-afternoon check-in time, but a a check was made for an available room and it was graciously offered (and accepted and appreciated by us). It's the small touches like this which make you return. 4. As a IHG Rewards member, this two-night stay was free. Our standard room was a little on the small side, but I have certainly stayed in smaller rooms in other hotels! The room was on the 8th floor at the back of the hotel, with an interesting view across the rooftops of Paris. It was very quiet, and light and airy. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and neat, with a nicely appointed bathroom (complete with large bath towels and toiletries); contemporary-modern is the decor style! It had an iron and board, security safe, and tea and coffee-making facilities. However, I think it is worthwhile to consider a superior room (it's what we usually book); the price difference isn't huge, and you'll get a bit more space, a Nespresso coffee maker, and a room facing Boulevard Poissonniere (the rooms are sound-proofed so no need to worry about street noise!). 5. There's free wi-fi throughout the hotel. It was a bit slow at peak times, but overall served our connection needs. 6. Check-out was a equally as efficient as check-in, and luggage storage was available. See you again soon, Holiday Inn Paris Opera-Grand Boulevards. We will be back! Collapse

Having been to Paris many times I know the hotel rooms are small but I can say I was very impressed with this hotel The staff were very friendly on check in and found us a room despite us being an hour early We did pay for a superior room to attempt to get more space the room we were given on second floor was very quiet decent bed good linen and very clean We didn't pay for breakfast as felt it was a bit pricey but there is a cafe outside the door by few yards that serve coffee and croissant for 3 euros so definitely think if that's all you eat for breakfast The area is full of nice restaurants for all budgets it's a safe area to walk too and a tube right outside the front door of the hotel I will most definitely stay here again Collapse

My business meetings were in the area, on Haussmann Blvd. The location of this hotel is great. A walk from the Opera and the big department stores, with lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel room was more spacious than the typical French hotel and it included breakfast, which is very nice. It is not luxury, but it is comfortable and clean. The price is a touch high, but everything in Paris is expensive. I'd come back here and felt it was good value. Collapse

Really easy to find, right beside the exit to Grands Boulevards metro station. One metro change from Gard du Nord. The standard rooms are small but as a place to lay your head they are fine. Unless you pay a premium in Paris no room will be huge. For a weekend ours was perfect. Staff are friendly from reception through to cleaning staff. All smiles & ready to help. The reception have to buzz you in and out, plus the lift is card activated so security is high. I walked to the Louvre and it took 20 mins & Galaries Lafayette just 10. The Grevlin & Chocco story are on the same street and the hop on/off buses stop really close by. With the location there are some fab places to eat close by and not extortionate for the area. One cafe I believe opens until 4am (without disturbing us) Wifi was great. Managed to watch Netflix as TV seemed to only cover the BBC. Would highly recommend. Collapse

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights during our mother daughter trip to France two weeks ago. We were very happy with this hotel, in particular its great location. It is situated on a street with many eating places as well as numerous shops and grocery stores, both on this street and the little side street by the corner of the hotel. Additionally, a metro stop is right in front to allow quick access to the various tourist attractions. The room is basic but has all the amenities we need, such as a fridge to store our grocery store finds and to keep our water bottles cool, a safe big enough to put my daughter's laptop in, and shower with good water pressure. Very comfy bed, and quiet room despite its location on a busy street. Adjustable AC to allow us to set our own preferred temperature. We did not peruse the breakfast, as there are too many other choices nearby for us to explore. Would definitely like to consider this hotel again next chance I come to Paris. Collapse
