2nd time at this hotel and hopefully won't be the last. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Although in a popular area the hotel is in a quieter area and I heard no noise during my stay. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Excellent breakfast buffet. I did have a problem with my safe ( as it turned out it was my fault for which I apologise) however thanks to Raphael for his help and the friendly way in which he helped sort out the issue and explained the issue to me the following day. To start with the positive: (1) A great taxi system. It worked really well. Came quick. Decent taxis. (2) A helpful front desk manager who provided the right assistance the right way (she fixed problems and offered coffee, juice, croissants etc while waiting). (3) A friendly and helpful manager in the breakfast restaurant. (4) The breakfast is nice. And now the negative: (1) When I made the booking as a Platinum IHG member I made it with my credit card logged on the IHG website less than two days before traveling. I received an email with a confirmation number. In its eagerness to stop any fraud, the bank stopped it (they have a tendency of doing this unless pre-warned). The hotel sent an email about the fact that the room had not been guaranteed. I did not see the email until we were at the hotel. There I was told that the room had been cancelled. In the email from the hotel it said "Please be advised that failing to communicate those data up to next 48 hours will incur in booking's cancellation.". We were at the hotel BEFORE 48 hours had passed..... I also called the bank which immediately approved the transaction. This particular front desk manager (as opposed to the one above) was not terribly friendly or helpful in her attitude. Neither did she fully understand normal English expressions. However, after some back and forth we got what we had booked; A two-bedroom family joining suite with Mobile Phone (we thought that it was possible to open up a door between the two rooms, but in reality it was just two hotel rooms next to each other. Basically we paid for two hotel rooms, which is not something I would have done if it had been clear from the start). (2) After checking in we went to eat breakfast. It was relatively early. The whole time we were alone in the breakfast restaurant. The white manager (different than the one referred to above) did not allow us to sit at one particular table since our family was not big enough.....She also refused us to sit at our second choice.....The whole time the room was empty. On the other two occasions we sat and eat at the hotel, the room was more crowded with guests but the manager (a very friendly one) had no issues with us sitting where we wanted (and why should she?). (3) The hotel has a very limited menu for in-room dining. It does not have any facilities for lunch or dinner (but there are some nice options nearby). (4) Once I returned back to the hotel with my son at noon. We saw that the room had not yet been cleaned and asked (the friendly) front desk manager to help. She asked when we wanted it done. I said 1:30pm. She called and got it confirmed. We came back at 1:30 pm. The rooms had not been cleaned and there was no one there. The helpful manager called again (she was not pleased in a good way) and fixed the problem and brought coffee, juice and croissants etc to my son and I waiting at the reception. She showed the whole time a professional and friendly attitude (same as a the French-African manager at the breakfast restaurant). You get what you pay for, and the hotel staff showed that it could deliver. However, two of them also had an attitude we did not appreciate. Collapse

We've stayed at this hotel before, but since last time it has been upgraded. We had an executive room and a normal room. Both were at the back of the hotel so were quiet enough to sleep with the window open, much nicer than air conditioning. We also had a lovely view of Parisian roof tops and the city beyond. The beds were comfortable. The design of the rooms was much pleasanter than usual. There was a new thing in the bathroom-you put a capsule into the shower control and got scented water to shower in. Nice. The staff were extremely pleasant and the rooms spotless. Location is great. You can walk to different metros depending where you want to go. Abbess and Sacre Coeur are within easy reach. Lots of places to eat close by. Collapse

Arrived by train at Garde de Nor and took a cab to the hotel...9 Euro... We waited about 15 minutes to be checked in. The desk people were busy with guests getting cabs and directions. Room was very very small and on the 7th floor. Window didn't open for air. We were there during the heat wave. Walls were slanted so you couldn't see the street. Bed was comfortable. Modern bathroom with great toiletries.. They also had an iron and ironing board in the room..a rare thing in Europe. We stayed here so we could walk to the Moulin Rouge but the area is very seedy and so we took a taxi. The hotel was older and not what we expected. Collapse
