Stayed at the Holiday Inn for 7 nights with my husband, brother and sister-in-law and we could not fault anything on the hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly, especially Lara who was extremely helpful. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection. Only had dinner once in the hotel as there were so many restaurants around. The food was of a high standard and lovely. It was nice eating outside. The hotel is ideally located to get around the city. Not far from the main streets with all different restaurants. The sea front was about a 10 minute walk and train links were superb and not expensive at all. Would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Nice. Collapse

We (group of 7) have just returned from a long weekend trip in Nice. The staff on the reception desk were so accommodating and constantly had a smile on their faces. They were helpful beyond basic requirements, even providing us with a circled map of places they recommend. They allowed us to keep our luggage in a locked room after checkout as we had a late night flight and even allowed us to change in a large room together when we came back to collect the luggage. It's these little things that make for unbeatable service! The hotel itself was far beyond my exceptions of a Holiday Inn. Excellent quality throughout and the location was perfect- about 10 mins walk from the promenade and near an abundance of shops and bistros. Free wifi was perfect. Only improvements- -If we could have been given rooms on the same floor. -All 3 of our rooms were very dim. We really could have done with a main light rather than bedside lamps only. Collapse

Great staff, really great front of house/reception staff and nice breakfast choices although on one day the orange juice and pastries ran out by 8.30. Silly things like the small bottles of toiletries are not replaced - I had a three day stay and nothing I used on the first day was replaced, even though the empty bottles were placed in the bin - a bit tight considering the room rate should have been €400+ per night for my executive room! Only one towel was replaced too - thankfully I was single occupancy otherwise one of us would be drying ourself with a damp used towel! The bar is ok and prices similar to everywhere else in Nice - ranging from €9 to €12 for 1/2 litre of Heineken. There is some roadworks ongoing outside although this was pretty dormant during my multiple night stay and never disturbed me once. Beware though as the hydraulic hammers were being used at 1am in other parts of the city as we walked past, which gives an indication of the time we arrived back at the hotel. Nice is super until 11pm when most of the eateries and bars close for some unknown reason. Look on the back streets and there is usually an all nighter open but sometimes the doors and curtains are closed. Warning: THE INTERNET IN THE HOTEL IS REMINISCENT OF THE 56KB/s MODEM SPEED OF YESTERYEAR, not at all suitable for a modern hotel (especially if you have kids who need the bandwidth) and knocked off a star from me - useless to stream video and some audio. The guy on reception says it has always been like this and the head office have been told multiple times but refuse to do anything. I like to watch Netflix in an evening - instead I had to watch the in room TV. So for two relatively inexpensive issues to solve I came away disappointed and overall I think my review would have been +ve. If it was a school report it would read "very capable but could do better if HI put its mind to it" Collapse

We spent the Easter 2017 holiday in Nice. In the US the Holiday Inns are a lower end economy chain. Our expectation for Nice were therefore low. In Europe HI appear to be much higher end. We loved the Holiday Inn. It far exceeded expectation. Room: We paid a little extra for the 8th floor executive room. I’m not sure it provides much value other than a limited view of the water. But the room was large. Clean. Very comfortable. Ambiance: The hotel is well decorated and comfortable. What wonderful service as well. From the helpful desk team to the bartender and service staff, we were made to feel very welcome. That’s important. Location: Simply wonderful. A few blocks walk to the promenade and old town. Also an easy walk to the trains. And right out the front door sits Chez Davia, a wonderful family run restaurant. We felt like we were in the heart of Nice. Price: We got a great rate, so we felt we received amazing value from this property. There are many wonderful and expensive hotels on the French Riviera. You can spend a fortune. We were able to experience all the joys of Nice and Monte Carlo at this HI at a cost of literally one-fifth the price of the fancy hotels. Let the other guys break the bank for the expensive room. You book here. Collapse
